I finally got the opportunity to check this cafe out as it's been on my list for a while. My friend suggested we meet here, and I'm very glad we did. It's tucked away right in the middle of midtown and was quite busy when we arrived. It's very cute with a bar area to sit at as well as some tables. They have a pretty straightforward menu of coffees and teas to choose from, along with pastries. We both got chai lattes, and the presentation was beautiful and they were extremely delicious. My friend also got a croissant and she said it was pretty good. I'd definitely come back here again the next time I'm in the area.

Big fan of their coffee and vibes. One day a week I sit here and enjoy their bold coffee a block away from Rockefeller Center. A mix of corporate folk and tourists fill the lounge seating and unwind. Top notch service. Likely the neighborhood/tourist trap scene that boosts the price of a latte to nearly $8, but here we are. As I spend more time in the area I would like to try other regional coffee shops for a comparison. Haven't tried their baked goods personally, but my team loves the cookies.

This cafe is most certainly an experience. It would have been nice to dine in but I was on a time crunch. The ambiance is so inviting. They have an awesome selection of pastries to go with your drink of your choice. I have the cinnabar and it was surprisingly good. There was a nice balance of cinnamon. The coffee is lightly roasted, which I prefer that. I'm not a coffee connoisseur, but you can taste the quality in their items.

This experience made us feel very bougie. I have never received this much detail about the coffee that I was about to consume. Great coffee paired with an excellent chocolate chip cookie! The cafe itself is very sleek/ minimalist.

This coffee shop from London is a favorite for coffee connoisseurs. They have a variety of beans and pastries and everything is amazing. The space is great for working or a chat with friends, but is always bustling due to its popularity. Staff here is super attentive and nice. Great coffee shop!

This was a very spacious coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. It is very clean and everything is well displayed. All of the pastries looked amazing and the way that they had them placed just looked beautiful. I ordered an iced cappuccino but, I think it was an iced latte which is fine. It was a bit crowded and did have to wait a bit for my drink. I would come back here and try out a hot drink.

What a fancy coffee shop with lots of seating. This place has great service, a great Cardamom bun, and great coffee!

One of the higher quality, more aesthetically thoughtful watering holes in East Midtown. The initial hype has died down a bit, so getting a seat is easier than it used to be. Maybe I'm not a gourmand, but the cardamom bun tasted just as good as the one at La Cabra to me. Minor gripe: the materials they've used for seating outside and the bar all retain a ton of heat and are hot to the touch on a sunny day.

A sleek, modern café with a calm vibe and excellent chocolate croissants--light, flaky, and just the right touch of sweet. The pastry alone is worth the stop. The coffee was solid, but if you're someone who prefers heavy cream, take note: they only offer half & half. Not a dealbreaker, but a bit of a bummer for cream lovers. Overall, a stylish spot with great pastries and a quiet place to recharge--just wish they had a little more cream in their coffee game.

ORIGIN: The first Watch House, and the inspiration for the expanding chain's name, opened in the small 19th century shelter on a South London church cemetery where men had once been hired to oversee cemetery activities. CONCEPT: Watch House identifies and serves a changing menu of carefully selected coffee beans, including brewing methods to maximize the evocation of scent and flavor. LOCATION: The majority of Watch House locations are in the UK, with two outside in New York -- the one located here on 52nd Street between 5th and Sixth (2024), and a more recently opened location in the Chrysler Building (June 2025). ATMOSPHERE: The cafe is spacious and elegant in design, with seating lining the perimeter. A large dramatic bouquet of fresh flowers is routinely displayed near street entrance. FOOD and BEVERAGE: A glass showcase displays savory and sweet pastries with uncommon and intriguing flavors, such as blood orange, honeycomb, and thyme pastry (sweet) and asparagus and shallot (savory). Available coffee bean flavor profiles and origin are projected onto a wall for customers' consideration. The flavors are different than what I am able to detect from more established coffee shops. Choosing a pour over method best surfaces the inherent bean flavors. SERVICE: Service is informed and attentive. Orders are placed through a cashier, and later delivered to where customers have chosen to sit. Paper cards are distributed to inform about the particular coffee. Orders can be prepared for take out as well. TIP: Coffee may be purchased for home brewing or as a gift for a coffee lover. Expect prices to be higher compared to other coffee chains. In 2024 a flavored pastry was $7.50.

Bustling coffee shop. Sees a lot of visitors daily. Service is excellent; restaurant-like at a coffee shop. Lot of interesting pastries to choose from too. I got the tebirke which was pretty good, it has a mascarpone cheese filling and poppy seeds topping. It does get quite busy so might be hard to find a seat.

My Americano was delicious and our cookie was yummy. The ambiance was clean, cozy, and modern. Service was great.

I was at this quaint tea shop east of Koreatown earlier in the evening before going to a meal at the excellent new Thai place, Wanglang. The staff was very friendly, and they specialize in matcha, along with having hojicha, genmaicha, black tea, and sencha. Along with more traditional drinks, they also have fruit options as well as black sugar jelly (I presume kuromitsu) and a Japanese citrus that's not seen much here, hyuganatsu. Along with the citrus, this place is rather unique as they had three different matcha options in terms of variety. As I tend to prefer teas pure and without add-ons, I ordered the Matcha Americano, which is simply matcha and water. I went with the 12-oz version for $6 + tax and ordered the Hajime, though I would likely get the Fuku No Midori next time based on descriptions online. The matcha was solid and had a mild sweetness and a light earthiness. However, it lacked some of the mouth coating found in very high-quality drinks from Sorate or Setsugekka, while being similar in price. Still, that is comparing to some of the best, and this was still very tasty and a lot better than 90% of the places in the city, being more comparable to Kettl. I wouldn't mind going back and ordering the other matcha varietal to see whether that is a better comparison. Outside of this, I enjoyed my drink, and the staff was friendly. I hope they do well.

I'm just really grateful this place exists near my office because it makes my week better every time.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
