Both fantastic, the matcha latte was very well balanced and came with a little explanation of where the match was produced. Cardamom bun was subtle and not too sweet. We sat at the little counter which was a nice front row view to watch them make pour over coffee. My absolute favorite coffee shop / bakery in NYC. Every time I'm in New York, I go out of my way to stop here for, at minimum, a matcha latte and a cardamom bun. More often than not, I end up grabbing a few other pastries as well because everything they make is absolutely incredible. The service here is exceptional. During my most recent visit, our drinks took a little longer than expected, and the staff surprised us with a complimentary pastry for the extra wait time. It was such a thoughtful gesture and speaks volumes about how much they care about their customers' experience. I also love the ambiance. The space is beautiful, clean, and modern, with plenty of tables and counter seating for catching up with friends or simply enjoying a coffee. I stopped by for coffee and a pastry on a Thursday morning and ended up grabbing an iced flat white and a cardamom bun. There are some small tables outside so I got my goods to eat in and a server brought out my flat white after I seated myself. The iced flat white was good but the espresso tasted a bit burnt for my liking. The cardamom bun was yummy though and I loved how flavorful it was. I stopped by WatchHouse to get myself a pick me up while I was in the midtown area. I had already been to the other location so I knew they were going for the fancier/higher quality coffee shop vibes. It was my first time getting their mocha instead of the latte, and I was pleasantly surprised!! The espresso of course was delicious and came through nicely. They use actual little chocolate bits that not only conferred the chocolate part of the mocha, but stayed suspended so it added to the texture of the drink. The ratio of coffee to chocolate to milk is great! My partner's Americano was solid with fruity notes. They mixed up our cookie order, but ultimately just gave us the correct one so we ended up trying both. The chocolate chip featured different types of chocolate types but still predominantly dark chocolate. The cookie itself was chewy with a good chocolate to salt ratio. The gluten free chocolate fudge was also solid and chewy. I liked the minimalistic wooden decor with lots of natural lighting. Staff were kind and polite but not friendly. There was a good amount of seating in doors and some seating outdoors. The line moved quickly on a weekend! read more

No way around it. WatchHouse is an elevated coffee shop. The ambiance and decor are impeccable. It's clean, refined, organized to an almost stale and clinical extent. Influencers will be grateful for all the visual candy WatchHouse provides. On a cold day, stepped in for a hot (black) tea. It was quite good- and quite expensive. I also had a croissant which was buttery, flakey and very good. The service was swift, helpful and friendly. Very easy to see why people will really like this coffee shop. Elevating basics like coffee to luxury status isn't for everyone. WatchHouse was a good experience. I'm glad to came through. Won't be my first choice in the future. They didn't do anything wrong. Big fan of their coffee and vibes. One day a week I sit here and enjoy their bold coffee a block away from Rockefeller Center. A mix of corporate folk and tourists fill the lounge seating and unwind. Top notch service. Likely the neighborhood/tourist trap scene that boosts the price of a latte to nearly $8, but here we are. I finally got the opportunity to check this cafe out as it's been on my list for a while. My friend suggested we meet here, and I'm very glad we did. It's tucked away right in the middle of midtown and was quite busy when we arrived. It's very cute with a bar area to sit at as well as some tables. They have a pretty straightforward menu of coffees and teas to choose from, along with pastries. We both got chai lattes, and the presentation was beautiful and they were extremely delicious. My friend also got a croissant and she said it was pretty good. I'd definitely come back here again the next time I'm in the area. read more

This coffeeshop operates in a very private equity way (Apt as it is owned by jeff bezos brothers PE whatever) in how it has a very shiny exterior but the substance is somewhat .... Lacking ..... I had it saved for a bit i forgot how i originally heard of it but their croissants visually appeared like theyd b great (I am SO Annoying about my croissant sixth sense) Like look at that croissant it should be so good right. One of the higher quality, more aesthetically thoughtful watering holes in East Midtown. The initial hype has died down a bit, so getting a seat is easier than it used to be. Maybe I'm not a gourmand, but the cardamom bun tasted just as good as the one at La Cabra to me. They be doing too much but I guess that's their concept haha First note, coffee is VERY acidic. Their beans are very light roast that it almost taste like diluted tea. I know some people may prefer that so if that's you're thing, this place is perfect for you. I wonder if everything is overpriced because they spent a lot on unnecessary things. For example: the very fancy cards they have printed to explain the coffee bean notes for each one. Next you have fancy silverware wrapped in very high quality napkin for you to use. So that means someone needs to be hired for washing all those dishes? haha The pastry was okay too. You can definitely find better pastry around NY. I stumbled on this spot accidentally walking somewhere else completely. I have been to this cafe twice since. The cafe looks luxurious and it definitely tries to provide such experience. First time I was there I took a pastry and matcha to go. Pastry had some kind of syrup mixed with juice from orange on it that spilled all over and through the paper box. I ended up being all sticky! The pastry was kind of good. Something different. Second time I went there I decided to stay in. I had q pastry with peach on top. Again forgot the name of it. It was super delicious. They have a pretty dull selection of pastries. Croissants, cookies some vegan pieces. The peach pastry looked the most exciting. They gave it to me on a plate. The shop wasn't as busy as the first time I was there, just still all inside seating was either occupied or messy with plates and coffee cups. For such large staff I was surprised they don't do at least a visual sweep every 5-10mins. I sat outside and was assured someone will bring out my matcha. It took a little while but I was stunned by the presentation. The matcha came on a wooden platter with a little note about it. Prices are overall generic. I paid $16 for pastry and iced matcha both times I've been there. I'd say pastries are a little over priced but it is midtown Manhattan so I figure they are milking the location. Overall I'd come back. Still have to try their coffee. Nice spot for a date or to catch up with friends or to ever just sit by yourself on a lunch break. read more

Ahhh! I've been obsessed with WatchHouse ever since I tried it in London last summer & was beyond ecstatic to find it in NYC! I absolutely LOVE their coffees and americanos because their drinks are so strong, while still being enjoyable. I hadn't tried the matcha yet and I've been on a matcha kick lately, so I decided to try their iced matcha latte w/ oat milk. It ended up being $8 and some change. A little steep for the size of the drink. Lol, not sure if it was the same in London (£) but I mean, it was still good, strong taste + not bitter. One of the more underrated cafes tucked away from the busy streets of 5th avenue. The cafe offers a beautiful and classy interior to enjoy a sit down coffee experience, and pastries that might actually deserve more accolades than the coffee itself. A colleague suggested WatchHouse to grab a coffee when I was in town, and I love trying new coffee places! We got there around 9:30am, and finding a seat was kind of annoying. I got a delicious dirty chai and was told to wait at the "bar" while I tried to poach someone's seat. I did get lucky, and we ended up having a seat.
