Visit June 2026 Falling asleep as I triapsed the streets of NY trying to look Tony Manero cool. It's hard work plus I was kinda full from lunch and had garlic breath (see Pastrami Queen review). The girls got matcha. They said it was good though not as much as anything they've had in the Convoy area in SD. I tried a coconut cream latte from their seasonal menu. Sounded good on paper? Coconut cream, horchata, cinnamon, honey, sea salt, and vanilla bean. I found I didn't like the cinnamon in it as it got "gritty" especially towards the end no matter how much I stirred it. Would try something a little more simpler on next visit lol. Service was simple. Take order. Wait for order. Not really anywhere to sit and drink. read more

A Youtuber I follow recommended this place and she enjoyed the Pistachio Latte so when I found out there was a location by my job, of course I had to try it myself. After a long morning commute, this hit the spot. The latte had a smooth taste to it and was worth the price I paid. Looking forward to future office days just so I can order this again! Pretty good matches spot. It's a small shop, maybe renting to seat 10 people, but it's good for a quick matcha run. The matcha itself is decent, nothing crazy good but there's unique flavors. I prefer the bitterness of a more matcha forward drink versus the flavors they have. I'd come back, its about $7 for a drink. read more

Honestly worth the hype and the price, such a great matcha - unfortunate that it outperforms local spots for the same price point. Cold brew latte was such an innovative concept however it didn't deliver as much as I thought I would! Should consider staffing more baristas for such high volume stores but it's challenging when most blank streets are the sizes of shoeboxes; but that's the nyc appeal! read more

Some sorcery with the carrot cake matcha because I've never drunk a carrot cake before. This matcha was unreal. Tasted exactly like a carrot cake and I'd have it every day if I could. During my NYC trip I wanted to try a different cafe every morning and had already tried Blank Street already, but when I saw they launched a new fall menu with a Banana Bread Matcha, I couldn't resist and I had to give it a try. Came to this location at around 8:30 and placed a mobile order online. It was pretty crowded with the morning rush, but they were running it like a well oiled machine with a separate area for in-store and online orders. When I placed my order, the pick up time said 8:45 and it was ready within a few minutes of that time. The banana bread matcha hit the spot! The spiced paired really well with the banana flavoring and I like the puree they put on the side. I added an extra matcha shot to mine, and it was amazing. My boyfriend got the gingersnap latte, and this one was just okay. Nothing really stood out, and compared to their last seasonal rocky road latte seemed a bit lackluster. This was my first time at Blank Street. I didn't realize it was a chain until I saw another location throughout the city and do more research on it. I ordered the pistachio matcha and was impressed by the creaminess of the drink. The space is a bit small. We were out of town to visit NY. Before we left our visit, we decided to visit on a Saturday, June 21st. We were close by a Blank Street. When we arrived at 2:58pm, the door was surprisingly locked even the hours for this location said it closed at 3:30pm on a Saturday. Two other bystanders were disappointed as well and made a comment why they were closed. The male employee inside saw several people open the door, but he kept cleaning. It's not until I started taking pictures that the employee opened the door and said, "why are you guys waiting outside?" And I replied, "because the door was locked." He acted aloof. And then he said to us and everyone that came in after us that he had basic flavors. I personally didn't believe anything he said. We decided to make the walk to another Blank Street located on 830 3rd Avenue. This employee definitely wanted to go home early. I won't return to this establishment. read more

Blank Street is a nice cafe to enjoy an iced cold tasty blueberry matcha. It felt as though I was having matcha all over again in Japan. It's a very sweet cafe in NYC that you can just sit, chit chat, and enjoy a delicious beverage and light snack in. The cafe is super cozy with wonderful staff and meaningful designs. There's no shortage of coffee shops in Midtown East - in addition to the multitude of Buxes, there are several smaller chains in the area. While I usually rotate the three Buxes that are near my office, one of my colleagues pointed out that they recently discovered Blank Street Coffee and really enjoyed their beverages. That being said, we decided to take a walk over one morning to get some caffeine. This specific Blank Street isn't too large - walking in theres a small area for ordering and pick-up with a few tables along the perimeter. The traffic flow isn't the best, it was crowded and a little difficult to navigate - I can only imagine if it was packed. The decor was kinda minimal with bright colors on the walls and touches of color throughout - very typical of a contemporary coffee spot. The menu isn't too large - while they have the standard coffees and teas, they also have some matcha beverages - all presented in a very clean aesthetic. I decided to go with their cold brew and had some half and half added; my go-to is usually coconut milk but they didn't carry it - boo. The drink was good - the coffee was super smooth and didn't have that hint of bitter that I'm used to. Service was good - my beverage was ready within the promised time. Overall, I had good experience at Blank Street Coffee. With a convenient app and a prime location, I can see why this is a popular spot. I wouldn't be against returning to explore more of their menu. read more

Iced caramel latte was ok. It didn't have much of a coffee flavor. I asked for half sweet and light ice. It still tasted a bit too sweet. The line was incredibly long and it took probably 15-20 minutes to get through it. And then another 10 minutes to get my coffee. The barista was working hard and did a great job. The place was packed and I could barely find a place to stand. The seating area is quite small. read more

I had heard of this coffee shop and wanted to try it for a while. It is known for its matcha so of course that is what I had to get. I have never been the biggest fan of matcha because it can taste earthy and bitter. But Blank Street knows what they are doing. I got the Strawberry Shortcake Matcha. It is made with Madeline's, strawberries, and jam. Because of this, it is on the sweeter side. But it does taste just like strawberry shortcake. I felt like I could taste the madelines and the strawberry jam. They also have a lot of other creative matcha flavors and non-matcha drinks. I feel like there is something for everyone. I think this location is great for decent priced drip which also tastes good. Everything else will take an eternity. There is one person who makes the hot specialty drinks and one person who makes the iced drinks. I waited 20 minutes for a 8 oz latte. And it was average tasting at best. I will stick to the drip. read more

I got their Aries latte containing a blend of cardamom, saffron, lavender, and rose, which is all my favorite spices and floral notes combined into one crazy cup. Needlessly to say, I loved it. Stopped in for a quick coffee pick-me-up and was delighted with my purchase. There's a few small spots to sit inside, but I wouldn't bank on getting a table, so grab and go is probably the preferred move. Staff was friendly and service was quick, but most importantly I got an excellent cup of coffee. I went with the pistachio latte, I prefer my coffee hot even on the steamiest of days. Maybe I'm just a sucker for all thing pistachio, but this still remains as one of the better ones I've had. Incredibly smooth, not blazingly hot, and not overly sweet. Would certainly be glad to stop by again and try out some of their other choices, especially their Macha which looked to be really good. read more

I'd actually passed by this place multiple times but had no idea it was a cafe. This shop itself is more of a grab-and-go, but it might still take a while since all drinks are whisked and made to order. There isn't really space for a line to form inside, so you may need to wait outside to order (there's also a bit of a lack of room to wait for your drink once it's ordered). My strawberry matcha came out to $9.25 total, which is pretty pricey, so I expected a lot. In total, it took me around 10-ish minutes to get my drink with about 4 people in front of me. At first it took a while for our orders to get taken since the two employees were focused on getting drinks out ASAP, one person was preparing the syrups and milk, and the other was making the matcha. The matcha itself had a nice green color. I've had many strawberry matchas prior to this, and based on my experience, this place was alright. The strawberry syrup was nice and not too sweet, but I wish there was a bit more flavoring or more of it, as after two sips I couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Overall, it's a nice shop with cute trinkets around and their own products they sell, like matchas and tea sets. However, for $9, it was a lot for what the drink offered in my opinion.

After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
