I walked in to get three watch batteries replaced, and was out in less than 10 minutes! I was kindly greeted and asked to wait. There are two chairs in a small waiting area just inside the door. This place does accept credit cards, not sure about Apple Pay. Walked out with a battery change punch card, buy five and get the sixth one free! I contacted Robert Methany owner of Watchworks through a friend's referral. I sent my Dad's 1946 Gold Bubble Back Rolex he bought in Paris at the end of WWII before he returned back to the States for discharge. When I got the Rolex back I was amazed how beautiful it was!!!! I then sent my Dad's Hamilton 'Scott' from 1938 my grandparents gave him on his 21st Birthday. It was in bad shape, and Robert did an amazing job restoring it also. I took a watch in for a battery change 4 months ago. The owner couldn't close up the case, and he kept it to try other techniques. After calling off and on for 2 months, he still hadn't fixed it. He then sent it to another jeweler to be fixed 2 months ago. After another month of calling back, he still hadn't picked it up or resolved the issue. One month ago, I stopped by and he told me he was going to pick up the watch in two days and send me an email or call. No email, no call. Just stopped in now. The staff can't find my watch- it must still be at the external jeweler's. I just want my watch back- in one piece or ten pieces, I don't care. Just give my watch back. I'll find someone else who knows how to fix it. I don't recommend you use this business for any service at all. read more

I actually found this place by searching for watch repair shops on Yelp. After reading all the great reviews, I actually drove out of my way to stop by this place. I had a very simple request-remove some links from my Bulova watch band and then replace the battery. The gentlemen there was friendly and helpful. I had my band adjusted and a new battery in less than 10 minutes. Easy to park, friendly service and they seem like a nice local busy. Definitely stop here first! read more

The reviews aren't wrong-I found out for myself and was beyond impressed with the level of service! I went there because I had 3 watches that needed batteries replaced, including a beautiful one given to me as a gift. After taking just one look at that watch, I was told that it's actually 'eco-drive' (had no idea) meaning that it runs by solar and all I need to do is leave it in sunlight for a few days and it worked-which it did. The other 2 were replaced in less than 5 minutes, if that, while I waited. I'm so happy that I can wear all 3 now that I am planning to return soon to replace one of their wristbands. The prices are great too, 2 watches had their batteries replaced for less than $20 total. This is the only place to go for watch repair and anything watch-related. I will be back! read more

I have been taking my watches to Watchworks for twenty-two years. With my first battery change, I received the little "promise card" stating that after five battery changes, the customer gets a free battery change ($7.95 value). Well today I went for my sixth battery change, the supposedly "free" one. I was told "That battery is more expensive (It's the same watch I previously paid $7.95 for battery changes), so I'll have to charge you $7.00." Wow, what a scam and what lack of appreciation for a long-term customer. Thanks Watchworks, for the "free" battery change and the 95 cent savings after 22 years and multiple watch repairs. If you receive one of these "free" battery change cards, toss it. Not worth carrying in your wallet. read more

Went in for simple clock mechanism replacement. He told me a few days and the changed to a week. No problem. After three weeks, no word, so I called. He said that he was waiting for a part that was coming in the next day. No problem. Three more weeks pass. I called, but VM box full. Called the next day. He said that my clock needed a "processor" and that it was on order. "Processor"?! I told him forget it. Bought the mechanism from Amazon for under $9 and fixed it myself. My husband brought a 60 year old Anniversary clock, and the clock from our RV here to fix. After numerous attempts checking on the both clocks, several months later he picked up the RV clock. That clock never worked again, but he paid him $75.00- my husband finally retrieved our Anniversary clock. To say that this place is customer friendly would be insane, as they never initiated any contact with us, regarding our clocks in 2 years. Ridiculous. read more

I've been a customer for watch repairs and battery replacements for years. I had a pair of sunglasses that were broken and I brought them in to see if there was something they could do. I left my glasses overnight and when I came back to get them it was determined that the glasses are "threaded" and there is no hope. It was the answer I was expecting, but what I wasn't expecting was the service cost was going to be $0! I was told since they couldn't complete the repair there was no charge. A few weeks ago I took two old Vostok watches with ticking issues and a Vincero watch with a leather strap that had come apart, in to see if I could get them all fixed. I was greeted by a friendly worker who offered to fix the strap, at no charge, with some superglue (which did the trick, strap holds strong no problem). Then the very friendly shop owner took a look at the vostok watches and showed me what the problems where and gave me a good price estimate to get them fixed up. What I really liked was that he gave me his honest opinion when I asked if it was worth fixing them. He explained the price to fix the watch would cost more than the watch itself (cheap russian design) and might not be worth fixing unless they were sentimental to me. (In the end I did decide to hold off on fixing them for the time being since I don't use them). Overall was a very nice and friendly experience. If me or a friend ever needs watch help I now have my place to go. read more

Vince is THE MAN!! I brought in 8 watches that needed their batteries replaced, and a brand new watch that I needed links taken out of. I... 1) have no idea what all this costs 2) have no idea how long all this takes I told Vince exactly what I needed, then told him I'd be back in 10 min after picking up mail from my nearby P.O. box. When I came back almost exactly 10 min later all my watches were ready!! I asked how much this would cost, and had about $120 in cash ready to give him, and he told me after 6 watch batteries, the 7th is free (which I met) and I don't think he charged me for taking the links out of the new watch! I left there about $62 later so excited to finally get to wear all these watches that had been out of commission for YEARS! When I told Vince to keep the change as a tip, he tried not to take it!! I urged him to accept, telling him just how impressed I was with his super quick, efficient, inexpensive and stellar service, and he finally humbly accepted. Awwww. He does work on alarm clocks and wall clocks as well, even sells a few, and I plan to bring him a clock that needs more than just a battery soon. $9 for a battery replacement is comparatively priced with other places around town, and battery #6 is free after you have purchased five. read more

Well the day I took it in The owners assistant was there because the owner (Brian) was out for an emergency. Well this kid told me by the next day the Owner will call me with an estimate but I never got a call until 2 weeks later after I had to call first (he didn't answer), and did call back the next day. I read the reviews here, as well as those for Watch Doctor (the "rude competitor"), before I went to get my battery replaced. Since I was curious, I stopped by Watch Doctor, as I was already nearby, but he is closed on the weekends. So I made my way to the other end of Main to Watchworks, and found that these reviews are right on :) The guy at Watchworks was very nice, replaced the battery in about 2 minutes, and I left hoping I would have more to bring back another time. Yelp definitely got this one right! I went by here a couple times in the last 2 years to get minor things done like battery replacement and links removal. I think the owner is offering a 1 year warranty on the replaced batteries, which for me lasted even longer (2.5 yrs and still going). He is also offering the 7th battery to be replaced for free, if you get 6 batteries from him. Very reasonably priced too (cost me about ~$14 + tax for a battery on my DKNY watch). I see no reason to look any further for my watch or clock repair needs! read more

The place at the mall gave me an estimate of $30 and I gave them a "hell to the no!". My mom's jeweler told her it would be $12, not bad, but I'm not going all the way downtown SF for that. Watchworks to the rescue! The owner looked at the watch on my wrist and using some kind of magical powers of watch repair knew how many links to take out without even touching the watch! What?
