The service was so bad like I did not enjoy myself at ALL.I came there to eat and enjoy the view which don't get me wrong the view is everything, but the service for drink is terrible . I ordered my food at 6:10pm an hour passes by and still didn't receive or have anybody walk up to me letting me know when I would receive my food. Definitely you need to check out this place at least once, I really like Willie the dj, he does a good job. Now the service is ok I guess, but the price that you pay for a table and bottles it should be amazing. The waitress uniform is actually ugly, so I would suggest they find better service as well as change their uniform, it made me feel like I was in a kids restaurant. Came to celebrate a birthday, was waiting to order drinks and saw person after person getting served before us for about 30 minutes....after our frustration, we called a bartender over and he said we were standing in the wrong area to be served and we needed to move. This bar is perched atop the 19th floor of the statler hotel (5-Star hotel per google). It's a beautiful spot, trendy, great views of dallas...BUT these trendy bartenders CANNOT mix drinks for sh*t. They can't. Believe me. I say again- just get something simple, or beer or wine. DO NoT order a mixed drink unless you want to waste $15+ dollars. The theatrics and drama mixing drinks had me wondering where the alcohol was and it's def not top shelf. They need to get a mixologist stat so they can teach the staff, and get on that 5-Star level. Other than needing more shade on the patio, this is the perfect hotel rooftop bar! The cocktails were great, views of the city are truly unmatched and everyone was friendly, plus there's a pool! Definitely try the cocktail suggestions they have, like the cucumber mint (add Ford's gin) and strawberry basil (add vodka). They do have food that can be ordered from downstairs, but there is a wait since it has to get upstairs. Super fun spot and make sure you check out the lobby for the classic elements, like the bank of phones and cars out front (you can sit in the one on the right, just ask the valet). This is the hotel where Tina Turner left Ike back in 1976 and while I can't speak to the hotel itself, everyone was friendly and there's a lot of chill spots, like this awesome rooftop! There's also a cute patio off the lobby with an awesome sculpture, a coffee shop, couple of restaurants and a speakeasy called Bourbon & Banter. Great place to go to enjoy the fresh air and look around. View is okay, the pool is nice but kind of small and during good weather, usually full. The drinks are very expensive. I got a blood Mary (no extra stuff like olive/bacon/etc) and it was $25. Just zing zang and vodka. I didn't think it was worth it. We said we also had a reservation, he said there are people who specifically reserved that table. We were moved to another and when we complained about our initial table, the waitress said you cannot pick tables. So how did those people then reserved that one table?! BS. I was so excited to celebrate my birthday here but it was highly disappointing. Nice views but the service was terrible. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt working in the service industry but this was just bad. Food took over an hour to come and during that time the server did not come to check on us. We were waiting for the last dish for way too long so we went up to the bar/our server to ask where it was and they told us they gave away the dish to another table. Really don't know why we were not informed of this and why they did not put in the order again. We were waiting for food that was never going to arrive. Waste of time. Cancelled that order because it was taking too long again for it to arrive. Again the server never came to check on us, even to get us another water/drinks. We had to ask several people to get an itemized receipt to be sure we didn't get charged for what we did not receive. They were very difficult to work with. There was no accountability or apology from any of the staff for this terrible experience. If I could give 0 stars I would. Extremely disappointed. read more

Fantastic view of downtown Dallas from the roof, but if you're looking for high-end cocktails, keep looking. This is essentially a pool bar for GenY and younger crowd, with some beer options as well as plastic cups filled with lemonade + your choice of basic liquor. Great view!!! And... that's it. A groups of us went to waterproof to check out the new hottest hotel bar in Dallas. As we walked in the view was definitely amazing! Can't wait to come back during summer evening to lounge around. But.... that was it. every single cocktail we ordered was very very very disappointing for how much they were charging. I asked for a negroni and bartender asked if I wanted rye or bourbon... I didn't ask for boulevardier. My girl friend wanted an aviation but they didn't have ingredients to make it. Two Old Fashioned had extremely different sweet levels... I mean... yes it's new but to call yourself a cocktail bar but can't execute simple classic cocktails, I'm not sure. Amazing views, food and drinks were good. Apparently there's a $75 spending minimum per person in cabana seating, which we were not made aware of beforehand, so that was a drag but we didn't let it ruin our night. The only main issue we came across was the customer service. We ended up staying for about 3 hours simply because the waitress only came out to check on us once every 45 minutes. Even the pool guy checked on us more than any of the waitresses did. The place wasn't busy at all, and we noticed that all of the waitresses and host staff were literally just standing by the bar talking. Not serving helping anyone, just standing there.. really unprofessional and we expected better service for how much we were required to spend.. read more

We didn't know what to expect when coming up to the Statler but to our surprise they are serving a full Italian menu upstairs on the Roof! Pastas, pizzas, salad, sandwiches! SOO Good. I really wish I could give this place a star worth earning but honestly the view is about all it serves. In my experience, I have not once been asked to leave somewhere yet tonight was a night full of disappointing experiences. A group of us decided after a work related holiday event to come enjoy the rooftop of the statler only to end the night with the security pushing us out the door. After some miscommunication with the server over bottle service at a table, two of our guests were removed from the venue. Im not sure if it was over the wrong drink order with the waitress or payment errors, needless to say either situation could have been resolved with a simple conversation with the table. After 30 min after the event occurred, we decided to leave the bar and go home. Only to find when we exited a few of our friends still waiting for one of the girls in our group who was removed. The security at the front told them she was speaking with the manager around the corner. I re-entered to ask where she was, if she was safe and how I could resolve the situation. Unfortunately the refused to bring a manger over and refused to disclose the location of our friend. I then said I was happy to call the police and get them involved. At that moment they physically pushed me out the front door. I'm honestly shocked about the lack of respect this place has for its guests. The lack of management and hospitality skills that is of standard to the Hilton brand and lastly the discrimination against an individual. I will never return to this bar and warn all those who come. I guess there is always a first time to be forcefully removed from a bar, just never though it would be at the Statler. read more

My friends & I were in Dallas for a girls weekend and wanted to visit a rooftop pool bar. The Statler was recommended to us. We could not have been MORE disappointed. The staff was very rude and wanted to charge 5 of us $1,000 just to stay by the pool after 1 with no heads up. My one drink (Bloody Mary) was absolute trash and the bartender couldn't care less. The waitresses were only concerned with themselves and how they looked and didn't wear masks while serving during the pandemic. This place is not the place to go. After the most perfect wedding day, we arrived back at The Statler to enjoy the after-party at Waterproof. I was stopped by a staff member in the elevator who said "Are you the bride? You don't have a reservation." To which I responded, "Yes, I am the bride and I certainly do have a reservation for a semi-private event here tonight". The Waterproof manager was waiting for me when I got to the bar where he asked me for proof of the reservation. I found my phone, went through my emails (on my wedding night), and finally found the email thread booking the reservation on 7/19/22. I was told that the employee no longer worked there and they did not have any record of my reservation. Visibly upset, my new husband tried his best to remedy the situation. I admit he was quite drunk and not the best person to try to help out at that moment, but he was the groom after all. The staff members certainly were not helping the situation by egging him on and even once saying "no, we were ready for your party" which was very clearly a lie. After several encounters with staff, managers, and embarrassingly even my guests trying to help, the situation was handled and finally made right by Waterproof offering several complimentary bottles of champagne. Or so I thought. We learned that the staff of Waterproof SURGED their cocktail prices to cover the cost of "complimentary" champagne. Two cocktails for $80!! I was livid. This is no more than an error on the side of Waterproof with their booking system. I hope no one else has the same experience we had there, especially a bride and groom. read more

The woman at the front entrance was rude for no reason. Her name was Jacqueline. She apparently doesn't know how to read as she could not find our reservation. At the end of the night she came up to us and was asking for our email for some reason and when she was scrolling though her iPad we saw our reservation on the list. She had marked us as "no shows", which is a $50/person charge. She never apologized. Just a miserable person, doesn't belong in service. read more

The lady and I decided to get a bottle and a cabana. Not cheap but not a terrible deal either. Strike #1 - my card was authorized for the wrong amount and a hold was put on my card. This was addressed and then right amount was then authorized on my card - unfortunately, due to this error on the staff's part, there are now nearly double the charges and after our bottle was and cabana was taken, these goods and services were not delivered as promised so the charges will be disputed as fraud. Strike #2 the cleaning staff aggressively stood in the doorways of the bathroom and would purposely clean under your feet as you stood in place waiting for an available restroom. There was also a language barrier and no matter how many times you politely said that you did not understand, they only raised their voices louder and cleaned more aggressively around your feet - this is a rooftop bar with a pool.... Strike #3 As we are waiting for a bathroom, one of the cleaning staff, a very aggressive lady, insisted we follow her from where we were to a bathroom in the front near the pool. She then had us queue up and when the bathroom was available, practically pushed us in and said " 4 mins." What in the world is going on? As soon as we are in, we hear very loud banging on the door and it is the lady "time is up." What on earth is going on? Where is management? Is this typical???? I am pretty sure no professional in the hospitality space would want this behavior from any staff member to a patron. I asked the lady what the issue was? Why did she move us from one set of bathrooms to another? Why was she banging and screaming on the door? The music was loud so I moved to within 2 feet of her to speak. She shrugged her shoulders and continued practically hitting our feet with her mop as she had been doing the whole time. As we make our way back to our $250.00 + bottle ( of $20 Deep Elum vodka ) we are met by a half dozen members of security all talking at once. One insists that I was in the face of the cleaning lady and that we scared her ( my lady witnessed as did many other patrons - there was zero hostility on my part, hello, I am a law abiding citizen in a corporate job ) I explain what happened and the VIP manager who has been virtually ignoring us since we paid for the bottle and cabana says we have to go. Here is where it gets crazy. They take our full bottle we paid for and then tell us to leave. They do not offer a refund for the goods and services promised and not delivered. We are clearly unhappy but we leave to go file a complaint with the front desk of the Hilton ( Waterproof is on the top floor of the Hilton Hotel ). We sit back waiting to see a manager and due to not being able to use the bathroom originally, I go to use the restroom. I come back to see my lady sitting on the couch, phone filming, surrounded by security who are all taunting her and insulting her. All of this is on film. She is clearly intimidated ( 5' 5" 120 lbs surrounded by 6' plus 250 lb men sneering and laughing at her ) she lets them know she is filming and they continue to brazenly mock and threaten her. I immediately remove us from the property for her protection. Not one person was a professional and the scene was not one you would want a loved one in. I caution any one coming here to avoid this establishment. Due to lack of training and very poor operations, a person having a drink in the sun could easily be attacked by the security fraternity who will all lie and back each other up but in this case we have film soooooo - next step is legal action and formal complaints at the highest levels. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR FRIENDS OR LOVED ONES HERE. NONE OF YOU WILL BE SAFE. read more

We walked up early on a Saturday night (no line) to meet friends for drinks and were immediately denied by a rude doorman because my friend was wearing dress shorts. It's a rooftop pool bar in Dallas in the summer when it's 100+ degrees out and shorts are not allowed? I've never heard of this before but apparently they have a strongly enforced "dress code" that is not posted on their website and nowhere to be seen. I did not appreciate the blatant rude attitude for no reason, we just walked up and were denied which was a complete surprise to me. The dress code wouldn't have been a problem, if it made sense and was actually posted somewhere but it's not. The door guy's extremely abrasive attitude is what really turned me off, you don't need to be speaking like this to anyone. We've been here plenty of times before and never run into the dress code problem so I feel like it was the staff working the door that night. But I will say we hadn't been here in over a year and this visit was a reminder why. It's really gone downhill since it opened. read more

This was a major letdown. We had reservations for the rooftop, but it was raining (nothing they could've helped). We were seated and got no service. Waiters and bar tenders made zero effort in helping our party, we had to make the effort to walk up and order every single item. The staff just stood around and were on their phones the entire time. We were told false information about splitting up checks when we specifically asked if the action was possible. Only good thing about the place was the drinks were good.
