It really is true that you can find just about any of the world's cuisines in Houston . German. The Watershed in W Bellfory at S Post Oak has an extensive menu of German specialties and beers. Highly recommended. Photos in comments. I'm going to let the photos do the talking.

Order at the bar. Grab your own seat. Fill your own soda. Great place to hang out with friends. Come here for the beer! Pork shank: 3/5. Not worth the price. Sweet potato fries were overcooked. An air fryer would have done a better job. Overall, ok food, but not worth the premium prices.

Smoked Rueben with warm potato salad(we split, not a full serving!)

The smoked Rueben and hot potato salad were so good! Service was great, it was very clean, everything was top notch. Will definitely be back!

Cool place for sure ! Parking: They're in a shopping center so there's tons of parking ! Seating: They have tables (4 tops) and booths. I didn't find the tables particularly comfortable or noteworthy but we were able to pull several together since we had a bug group which was nice. Ordering: You do have to go up to the bar to put in your order. They do bring your food order to you though! I love that they had a cider option instead of just beer. I think they have a full bar too I ordered the burger and it was DELICIOUS ! I was honestly surprised Ambiance: Their decor is pretty cool and a nod to having been in Houston for so long. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but it's a solid and chill place if you're in the area.

Service was great and there is quite a selection of beers. Food was mediocre. Tater tots were nice and crispy but tasted like fish. Pastrami was very overdone, cooked to a grayish color. Some retro decor, but boxes and storage out front is at bit of a mess.

I have been going to this fun hole in the wall oasis for years now. Located just southwest of the 610 loop, this watering hole offers a fine variety of food (mostly German inspired), a fully stocked bar, and fun environment. A group of friends and I found this restaurant while searching for pub trivia's years ago, and most Tuesday we meet up for some friendly competition and libations. The bar itself has fun retro parody concert posters, and bar backsplash has old cassette tapes. Every table is a great seat for trivia or just dining in general. You can peer into the kitchen just slightly, and the delicious smells ruminate as the patrons enjoy their meals. The staff has always been friendly. The owner and manager is often there and makes his way around the bar ensuring everyone is having a great time. This has been a special spot for me and my friends for years. Come out for pub trivia nights on Tuesdays!

We got the packed fries, which we really liked. Loved the gravy combo with the cheese. The fries were really crispy, yet light and airy. They're pretty much perfect fries. It is a bit on the pricier side ($14 for the portion you're getting). I got the pork shoulder with sauerkraut and potatoes. The pork was pretty good (a little on the dry side), but the whole dish was a bit on the greasier side for me. I think it must be from the pork, but I moved it into a to go box and the next day the to go box was pretty oily too. I really wanted to try the pork shank, but it was $30 so I didn't want to go too ham that night (maybe next time!). My fiance enjoyed his weisswurst. The sausage had a nice flavor and it made a great combo with the pretzel bread. It comes with two sauces and my fiance said the mustard was really strong for him. It cleared up his sinuses. I liked the other sauce a lot. It kind of tasted like Japanese curry to me. The whole meal cost around $55 for us (a bit on the pricier side), but worth a try!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't too busy but it was also 1:30pm so the lunch crowd may have already left. The menu suggests that this is a German pub with some other traditional pub fares mixed in like fish & chips. Being a vegetarian, I was somewhat limited in choices. I chose the kasespatzle which is basically German mac & cheese. It was a good portion for one person as an appetizer. I liked it as it wasn't too heavy and the fried onions on top gave it a good contrast to the cheese. They have a good selection of beer on tap. Mostly German style of the local microbrew variety though. I saw Paulaner Weisse on tap and grabbed that. Refreshing on a summer day. I haven't found any microbrews that can emulate a true German hefeweizen.

Honestly amazing pretzel. We got it on a whim because we saw another couple with one and wow it was the best thing we ate here. If you are looking for a super bready dense pretzel, this is NOT your guy. This pretzel was piping hot and fluffy however. The whipped butter and mustard was the perfect addition. Next favorite part of our meal were the sweet potato fries. In last place was the bratwurst. It was technically very tasty. I think many people would like it, but it just tasted too natural for me (keep in mind my idea of a good hotdog is the costco one). Great little spot otherwise!

$27 Fish and chips and a coke.

Our group walked in and sat at the bar while two other guests sat nearby. The bartender immediately took the other guests' order first, then casually asked us "what do y'all want" while continuing to move around behind the bar. My friend paused because it genuinely wasn't clear if the bartender was listening to us, and the bartender responded with attitude saying, "I'm listening." When my friend ordered a Hugo Spritz, the bartender responded with "what?" and then said she only knew an Aperol Spritz. That's completely fine, not everyone knows every cocktail, but the interaction became unnecessarily rude from there. Instead of simply asking about the ingredients politely, she came back with an attitude asking us to look it up for her, and then became defensive saying "I don't know what the issue is" even though nobody had complained or created a problem. The entire interaction just felt dismissive and unwelcoming. We ended up leaving almost immediately because the energy was so uncomfortable. Hospitality and attitude matter just as much as the drinks, and unfortunately this experience missed the mark completely.

The ambiance was great for the holiday they had themed drinks and specials going on, which added a fun touch and made it feel festive without being chaotic. It felt like a place you could hang out for a while, whether you're there to celebrate something or just have a few drinks with friends. One thing to note is they don't serve food, I did hear they rotate food trucks at times, but none were there when we went which was a bit of a downside, but they did allow us to bring in outside food, which honestly made up for it and gave us more options. Parking wasn't too bad when we went, and since it wasn't super packed, everything felt smooth and easy. Overall, great vibes, good drinks, and a fun place. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for a casual hangout or social night out.

I might have just found one of my new favorite restaurants in Houston. What a great experience!…read more Recently, a good friend dined here and immediately called me to tell me how great it was. She then text our friends group and said we all had to come together and we did just that. She made reservations in advance as this place is popular thanks to recent Michelin Bib Gourmand awards as well as many other accolades. Walk ins are welcome as well. Our reservation was later in the evening so after a night of bar hopping, we ride shared in which I think is one of the best options as parking is limited here or you have to find street parking in the neighborhood. This place is literally a house turned into a restaurant. Inside is just multiple rooms with a couple of tables. It makes for a unique, intimate dining experience, perfect for a date night. In our case, we were a group of nine so we got patio seating. The patio is spacious and well kept, and if the weather cooperates, a great place to hang. One thing that really stood out to me is the amazing ambience of this place. I was told that the bartenders pick the music for the night from the owners extensive vinyl collection. Once the album is in, they play it in it's entirety. The sound system was systeming and on top of the great company and food, we were totally vibing with the music. Customer service was amazing. Every staff member we came across was so friendly, especially our server. The menu here changes. There are some mainstays, but they like to change things up. Their website shows current menus daily. We were told that family style is the best way to experience this restaurant. I am one of those people that will always listen to the staff and go with their suggestions. Our group went through quite a bit of their menu from apps, entrees and desserts. I loved that our server and staff brought our food out one by one in what they thought was the best progression so we could take a culinary journey. We started off light with their popular Dilly Bread. Best bread I've had in awhile. Next was the Texas Tartare. It was my first ever tartare and it was delicious. We then moved on to Fingerlingin Good which was a crispy potato dish with chili crisp and mascarpone. It was potatoes elevated to the highest level and so so good. Next up was Beer Battered Sweet Tots. I didn't think sweet potatoes could be that good. Our first entree was a vegan dish called the Carroty Kid. I could seriously become a vegan if all dishes tasted like this. It was curried. A bowl of jasmine rice would've made it a complete meal. Next we tried another famous Nobie's dish called Nonno's Pasta. Handmade, perfectly cooked tagliatelle with a delicious bolognese. I wouldn't share this next time. Ok, I will, but it was that good. On to the heavier dishes. First up was the Jamon With Your Bad Self. This came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. It was favorite heavy entree. It was high quality, iberico pork steak with shaved brussels and all kinds of other tasty ingredients that when combined made such a tasty bite. We then went to the sea with the Drops of Grouperter. It was good, but not something I would order again. It was a little too smoky for my liking. Our biggest dish that came market priced was the Kick His Ass Seabass. This was a whole fish that was presented beautifully on a platter with all the accouterments to make your own elevated fish tacos. We left no morsel of fish behind. It was absolutely delicious. One of the things this place is really known for is their pies. This was the part I was most excited about. Just like their menu, their pies change up. We got all their offerings that night which they presented on one big platter of goodness. Their main stay and I believe always on the menu is the famous Olive Oil Cake. It's not a pie, but I can see why this is such a popular dessert. I can't even describe it, you just have to try it to understand. The pies we had were the Black Bottom Strawberry Pie, Banana Rum, and the Peanut Butter Pie. I would order all of them again. We all had a difference of opinion on which was the best, but my fave was the Banana Rum. Overall, I was highly impressed with this place and kind of mad at myself for waiting so long to make it here. It had made it's way to the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Houston. I will be back.

The first were "natural" and nicely briny. The 2nd was pure genius: they said it would taste like a Big Mac, and they were spot on. Amazing! Steak Tartare - the steak and deviled egg mixture were satisfyingly velvety and the accompanying bread was buttery, chewy, and addictive; Puff Puff Pass - unique textures: crispy, chewy, smooth elements are married beautifully. Nonno's Pasta - this dish was my least favorite. I found the flavors to be too cheese forward with not enough acid; Jamon With Your Bad Self - while not much to look at, this dish was outstanding. The pork's texture was simply magical, and the flavors well-balanced. On the side, we had the Fingerlingin Good potatoes, and they lived up to their name: pleasantly crispy and bursting with savory goodness. Desserts: the Olive Oil Cake was a dream: incredibly moist and tender with vanilla richness and a kiss of lemon. The Black Bottom Pie was not my favorite. I would the salt to be too much and couldn't eat more than 2 bites because of it. Service: warm, gracious, attentive, and efficient. As for ambiance, this is where the restaurant misses the mark for me. It's in an old house, and when we walked in, that's exactly what I smelled: old house. Still, if you're looking for a unique, creative menu that delivers on flavors, add nobie's to your bingo card.
