We were at Waterstone Grill on Sep 14, 2014 "If you have a Double Deal Coupon BEWARE" Dinner was delicious and service from Kathy was excellent. We were told that we wouldn't be able to use our Double Deal Certificate on the Fish Fry or any of the other specials. Before purchased this certificate, I made sure to check out the exceptions. There weren't any! We asked to speak with the owner/manager. He never came out of the kitchen. After having the manager check the certificate, in the kitchen, we were told that we could use it. Be sure to check with the restaurant before using your certificate. Our dinners were way over the amount of $40. My husband and I each had the steak and swordfish dinners, and a delicious lemon cake for dessert. As for our dinner, the steak was done to our liking, but the swordfish was a bit fishy in flavor. We had to ask for the drawn butter, which is usually served with sword in other restaurants the we go to. We would return to try another dish at a later date. read more

Stopped in town on a Tuesday evening after a day of motorcycling with a total of 6 people. We were seated promptly by the manager and immediately greeted by Steve our server. He explained the menu and specials options and was attentive all evening even splitting the check into 4 per our request. The food was excellent. Everything was served promptly and as ordered. My husband and I shared a large portion of Steak Gorgonzola Fettucine Alfredo which was rich and creamy. The steak was grilled perfectly and the Gorgonzola was generous and crumbly. Three of our group enjoyed the seafood platter which everyone finished attesting to its deliciousness and the last member of our party ordered and enjoyed the Filet Kabob. The entree was bland. Rice was very neutral which did not suit for me. Vegetable was fresh and cooled correct but not a great as a group and no additional seasoning... could be my taste preference. Was a seafood platter which could be better described as broiled tilapia with 4 small shrimp and 4 small scallops in a rather bland white sauce which did not do the dish justice... needed more flavor for me to go with unseasoned veg and plainer rice... Will try again as bread that good has someone in the kitchen that can cook... haha Disappointing as in the same price range the other local (2 mile radius) establishments are much richer in taste. After a fun day in Canada I wanted to bring my out of town family to a nice dinner before heading back home. We called and made a reservation and were greeted by the nicest man. The ambiance is very nice and the food was great. The table ordered a variety of drinks and meals. I had the seafood platter; the tilapia, shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection. This should be 3 1/2 stars but I give the staff credit for fixing a couple of issues quickly. This restaurant is in the middle of a slew of chain hotels so I didn't have high hopes. But the holiday decorations were nice and the wait staff couldn't have been more attentive. Good salad, fresh greens. Had a flat iron steak. Prepared correctly, and meat was good. Baked potato had been baked too far ahead of time, but it was hot and passable. Not the a side of "steamed" broccoli; some pieces were refrigerator cold. Give the kitchen kudos for fixing it immediately, but I think they would have been "Chopped" for that mistake. Had an Italian lemon cake for dessert. Excellent. The first thing I spotted was the fireplace! I Loved it. I met a few friends for lunch. The hostess that met us was very friendly. Our service was wonderful, none of that usual waiting, nor did we feel like we had to hurry through our lunch. The food was wonderful. You have to try Caprese Fadeccia for a nice luch diversion. Fresh tomatoe, matzarella,and wonderful herb toppings. The bread is to die for! Everything is fresh! A large side plate of salad comes with it.. My maccoroni side plate was served just how I like it. Not mushy,and just the right dressing to boot. The Pricing was a little high but food was well worth it. That's why I will return. Oh and do try out the desserts. We were looking for Sunday brunch and found Waterstone. When called, they said they had omelette and crepe stations. They had pre-made waffles and pancakes and what looked like a frittata. Other usual fare- scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage,ham, turkey, pork chops etc. also, a large array of deserts and pastry. The food was all good but not the best ever. At $13.99 per person and with a coupon, the price was awesome. Would not hurry back, but I will give them another try because the lunch kind of items were fairly good. Went here for a bite to eat on a Saturday about 7pm- there was no wait! We enjoyed the French Bourbon Pork Chop and the French Dip Sandwich. The size of the Bloody Mary was not worth $7.50 however, it had a good kick to it. Their was also a $3 extra plate fee that was not noted in the menu or presented when we said we were sharing the sandwich. Our waiter, Sonny, was extremely kind, attentive and knowledgable. We had a great family dinner here with mixed results. On the plus side you can get anchovies with your Caesar salad. The mussels appetizer were yummy, but we had to ask for bread and a spoon to fully enjoy the wonderful sauce. The Veal Marcela was enjoyed by mu aunt and her friend as was the traditional shrimp cocktail. My cousin had the Chicken Napolese and found the garlic potatoes to be over powering! I love garlic, but this was a 50/50 mix of potatoes to garlic. Her husband enjoyed the Frutti di Mare, although he mentioned it was more like Diabla! While I liked my Seafood Stew I would have preferred more stew, ala chiappino, and less pasta, I kicked it up with crushed red peppers. My wife was overwhelmed with her Huge Sole Filet and risotto. I though the risotto was a little undercooked. Finally my grand daughter was disappointed with the calamari. It was sweet, with a French dressing dip and not crispy. We placed another order and asked that they just make crispy calamari without the spices. The marinara is a better selection for dipping. We were really looking forward to eating here as we are staying next door. It's Friday night, and it was busy. We sat at the bar, and we got no service. The bartender was very rude to the customers next to us because they asked about ordering food. She said they were busy and she had no glasses because everyone came in at the same time. She picked up the menus that were in front of us and never even asked if we wanted anything! Shame on you. My brother was in the restaurant 05Apr19 for dinner with my mother who has dementia and was very disappointed with the service. Bottom line, the staff is not trained to recognize the disease nor did they make an attempt to accommodate someone with dementia. Mom usual has flatbread or grilled cheese for lunch. When she requested those items for dinner, the server took the menu, read it and told her flatbreads and grilled cheese were not on the DINNER menu and she couldn't have them. My brother asked her to please check with the kitchen and she came back and said no because they are not on the DINNER menu. Dementia is a disease where individuals need familiarity and routine. Mom was rattled and picked something, which she did not eat...not what she usually eats there. I called today (06Apr19, 11:00 am) to talk to a manager about the situation with an attempt to educate the establishment a bit about recognizing and facilitating people with this horrible disease. The manager made it clear that Mom's food choices weren't on the DINNER menu and the chefs are not prepared to make the choices that she wanted. Really???? Two pieces of toasted bread and some cheese? (BTW - grilled cheese was on the children's DINNER menu.) The manager went on to say that my brother should have talked to the manager when he went to the table. She went on to tell me that the manager visits EVERY table; I confirmed with my brother that he did not visit the table while they were there. Even if he had stopped by the table last night, my brother would not have said something in front of my mom. The manager with whom I spoke today was argumentative and did not want to listen to what I was saying. Before I hung up, I told her that "I get your message". That message would be that people with dementia are not welcome at the Waterstone Grill. I would recommend that the Waterstone owner and management contact the Alzheimer's Organization to request training to recognize and help guests who are suffering from this debilitating disease. Erie County has an initiative to spread awareness to establishments so incidents such as this do not occur so people like my mom with dementia are treated with respect and dignity. We had a horrible experience at the Waterstone Grill. I ordered a house Manhattan and was charged $11.50 for a mediocre cocktail. When I questioned the management about the price I was treated rudely. Apparently, they haven't heard that the customer is always right. An apology would have sufficed, instead I was treated in a hostile manner. The manager/ owner indicated that the bartender made my Manhattan with three shots. This was absolutely ridiculous. No way,! A downright lie. We are regular customers and have patronized this establishment with our business on several occasions. Their business practices are unacceptable. We decided to try Waterstone for our first time for our date night . We arrived a little after 8 and there were only a few other couples in the restaurant . We were seated and immediately asked what we'd like to drink. We asked for Ice water before we looked at the menu. We decided on the 2 for $49 5 course special. Our waters came out with our appetizers . The food however was amazing . I would recommend it although the service was slow . The manager treats his staff like SH_ _. Now, I have been a business owner for 30 years in the service industry, the manager is so unprofessional its appauling. He cant hold staff if his life depended on it. He hinders the environment with his condecending approach. Im embarassed for customers who have experienced his wrath in the dining and bar area. Decided to try this restaurant after driving by so many times. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip which was very good. My husband ordered the twin medallion fillets. For $33 it was below expectation. It had a taste I can't describe but it was cooked to his satisfaction. I ordered the scallops with mango salsa and rice and they were not fresh they were fishy and rubbery and I kept getting a strange smell from the salsa. For $32 I was very disappointed. For the prices they charge they need to get it together. It just wasn't up to par. We won't be going back for those prices. We did tell the waitress about mine so she knew the the scallops weren't fresh and that was that. I wouldn't recommend going unless your prepared to be disappointed. I love this restaurant! My fiancé and I went for dinner one week night. The service was great and efficient. We ordered off of the dinner menu but were informed that we could order off of any of the menus they have! We got a bottle of the featured wine which was a merlot that part of the proceeds went to an aid foundation which I thought was very cool. I ordered the filet, he ordered the lobster macaroni and a French onion soup. The meals come with bread and salad. Everything was timed really well we had plenty of time to eat our soup and salad before our meals got there. When we received our meals I was pleasantly surprised! The portions were huge!! My steak was cooked perfectly. And I even got a potato and veggies. Which usually doesnt happen in other higher end restaurants. The lobster macaroni was really delicious great big pieces of lobster and it was creamy and cheesy. We also got dessert. I had the key lime pie he got a piece of the cheesecake. Both were incredibly tasty, colorful and beautifully presented. Overall I can say that we were greatly satisfied with our experience it was well worth the money and the food, environment and service was perfect. Pasta was very heavy but apps were ok which is why we are giving two stars. My wife picked this place for our aniversary as a special treat. She wanted to surprise me with a place that advertises New Castle on draft. Although it's advertised online and in the restaurant, they do not carry New Castle Beer at all. No big deal, just kind of strange. I Had there signature burger. Unhappy with the fact that they obviously used the strained onions out of the french onion soup for my burger. Barley edible. There rosemary mayo was what swayed me to order the burger. Did not taste it at all. Online they claim to close at 10pm. Went there for an aniversary dinner at 7pm. The staff began to pull out the vacuums a little before 9pm and then the waitress dropped of our check before we could order dessert or another round of drinks. She expressed sorry but we're closed. It was before 9pm when we were back in our car after paying a 85 dollar bill. I was very unhappy with the food and I would call ahead to make sure they can offer what they advertise. read more
