Based on my research I had figured it would not be possible without removing the existing granite and possibly the cabinets too. Tim assessed the situation and said his crew could do it! Fast forward to today and it looks beautiful! He had to install a strip of granite in the gap where the old double basin sink was (since Farmhouse sink comes out past the edge of the counter) and it looks nearly seamless. HIs crew worked efficiently and came within the original budget. I would highly recommend him for custom kitchen jobs!
