Nothing was wet about it it was full of rice and beans not so much of the chicken flavor was not good. Would not recommend getting this dish whatsoever. Absolutely no better spot to recover from working your way through the International Plaza than Rocco's Tacos! The chips and salsa trio is a must and if you like cheese, their queso dip is delicious! Tequila and Mezcal options seem endless and you can't beat a fresh mojito or margarita! The tacos are good, but expensive for what you get- but it is International Plaza after all. The ambiance and decor are both fantastic and the service was quick and helpful. We'd definitely come back- especially for the chips and salsas- but maybe try some of the specialties like the chicken al carbon or one of the molcajetes options! read more

This was my 3rd time here and my husbands 1st. Our server was phenomenal and so attentive. We ordered the dip trio and not only did she refill our chips but the dips as well! Came here for lunch and unfortunately the experience fell short. The inside was nice and clean, and our server was friendly, but after the food arrived we were barely checked on. This became frustrating when my order came out wrong. I received a steak quesadilla instead of chicken, and it took quite a while to track someone down to have it corrected. By the time my meal arrived, my boyfriend had already finished eating. They did comp my meal, which I appreciated, but the situation was still disappointing overall. Yeah they have tacos. Would I call it authentic -no. Is the food good, sure but not great. Are the drinks good - yes actually not too bad but on the weaker side. The service is hit or miss. The place is busy as it is at the mall. Which also means it is overpriced, about double what you would pay at a good stand alone Mexican establishment. They have tableside guacamole. The poor waitress has to make it as opposed to a guacamole sommelier like at authentic Mexican places. Like I said it's at the mall and I only come here when we are shopping at the mall and In too hungry to wait to go somewhere not at the mall. Food was good. Started with chips and salsa and all 3 salsas were tasty. Had the crispy fish tacos which had a great slightly spicy sauce. Service was slow. After getting our drinks it was so long before our server came back we were already in need of refills. This review is not on based on my experience alone but also the opinions of my friends, because I am not a big fan of Mexican restaurants. So we did a girls night here, there was seven on us. Decor wise, there is a lot going on. Nice, but some areas were overloaded. Especially the lighting. Loved the chandelier like lights but it was just too much . And the floor was oddly slippery. Not like it was wet with water but almost like someone poured oil on the floor. And it smelled musty. It didn't feel like the air was circulating at all. I get that it's open windows/doors but then have fans or something so that there's air flow. It didn't seem overly busy but our waitress took a while to bring over the table side guacamole. There was a table that had more people than us and ARRIVED AFTER we ordered the table side service and they received it the same time as us. Like I said earlier, I'm not big on Mexican food, and so only had the table side guac and some plantains for dinner. The guac was good, but was missing salt and there was none on the table. The plantains had some kind of cheese (which I find inappropriate as a Puerto Rican) and the plantains weren't ripe enough. My friends review: Friend #1: Ordered the veggie fajitas and skinny señorita margaritas. Gave the fajitas a 2 out of 10. Said the margarita was ok. Friend #2: Ordered chicken tacos with rice and beans. The chicken was a bit salty, rice and beans undercooked causing them to be crunchy. Also had the skinny margarita and also found it ok. Friend #3: Ordered the carne asada tacos (which were mid) and felt the beans needed to be cooked more and they were crunchy. Friend #4: Enjoyed the table side chips and guacamole along with the passion fruit margarita. Had the grilled fish taco and found it bland. Also went to the restroom and found a male in there. He didn't realize the mistake, so restrooms may need to be gendered labeled better. There was an empty paper dispenser and the trash was overflowing as well in the restrooms. Friend #5: Ordered the Charley's Churros Mexican style donuts with cinnamon-caramel sauce, chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. A larger portion than expected. Strongly advised to share with others. Found the cook on the churros delicious and the ice cream rich and creamy. I have to do better with taking pics of the food ordered, but this is our honest review of our experience. read more

We were told that there was 400 tequilas or something to that fact. My fish tacos weren't that great but they give you great sized portions and the staff is nice! My sister and I arrived on a Thursday night the restaurant was a bit busy but we were seated in less than 10 minutes. Once our fajitas arrived they were great. The service left more to be desired as our server was very distracted. We had to ask the manager for our check when we were ready to leave. My American mule was made to perfection which was nearly good enough for me to over look the poor service. We love Roccos tacos. We have eaten at the Orlando location more than once. This was first time at Tampa. Nice looking restaurant in an amazing mall with 200 stores. They make guacamole right at your table in a huge bowl. Tasted great! I had a taco salad that was absolutely amazing. We were finally able to try Rocco's for dinner. We had a reservation and were able to get in very quickly. Unfortunately, they sat us right by the door for the patio, which all of the servers kept leaving open so it was steaming hot at our table. The tableside guac was ok, we asked for medium and it really had no spice at all. They have a ton of tequila but not much else. My husband asked for a Captain and Coke and although they carry it, they were out of if. The chips and salsa were ok, the picante and verde were tasty but the house salsa was mainly water. I had the chicken tacos which and my husband had the fish tacos, neither of them had any flavor. My son had the Dorado burrito which was decent when he added the side sour cream and salsa verde. The best part was our server Josh who was on top of everything and even tried to keep the patio door closed which was a losing battle. read more

Rocco's Tacos came in hot -- literally. The house-made hot sauce was fire ... not in the spicy way, but in the "wow, this is delicious" way. Unfortunately, so was the bottle. I couldn't tell if it was sauce or a science experiment, but the outside was sticky enough to trap a small animal, and the cap looked like it hadn't been wiped since Cinco de Mayo 2012. Pro tip: the sauce is worth it, just bring a wet wipe and maybe a hazmat glove. read more

My companion had the chicken enchiladas again fresh, tasty and over filled with goodness. We went during happy hour $ 2.00 off of tacos. Also on the happy hour special was the margaritas ( think somewhere around $5-6.00) Needless to say they were awesome. I did limit myself too 2 ... We didn't realize you had to ask for the chorizo sausage, so this dip was vegetarian, but still flavorful. The shrimp tacos and carne asada were good but could've been warm when it was served. Was in Tampa for the weekend and decided to eat at Rocco's taco. The drinks were blah, I feel like Chili's has a better margarita. The queso fundido was disgusting. The tortilla was dry and stuck together. We ordered two carne asada taco and mistakenly the bartender only put in one order. The carne was ok. I ordered the traditional, carnitas tacos.
