Only a 1 cause you can not give a 0!! By far the worst! Bill is NEVER the same every month. They send out tech people that don't know what they are doing. They adjust your rates every 6-12 months without notifying you! Then you have to call and say you want to make a payment to your bill in order to speak to anyone about anything withouth waiting 45 minutes on hold. This is over a 3 year period, I was stuck with this company b/c they were the only ones near my house that "provided" all 3 services but NOT ANYMORE... buy bye! I love having to use my mobile hotspot on a constant and daily basis because the Wave internet service is down. I pay $100+ more per month for supposedly speeds of "up to 250" -- which by the way -- I've never had greater than 50.... but that ripoff story is for another day. I cannot believe that the WA state AG (Bob Ferguson) has done ZERO to protect the WA state consumers from this company. Typical politician who likely receives contributions from Wave towards his campaigns, and is probably in bed with Wave. If not, DO SOMETHING BOB about Wave's monopoly in several areas. Give consumers the choice to select a different broadband provider, or make Wave accountable for their service and the high costs they charge for not rendering that service 99.95% of the time. One week before they could get to my house to fix the cable box. Three more weeks before they fixed my internet problem which was causing me to only get half the speed I was paying. Customer service was confused why I was upset that I was paying for services that I was not receiving. If there were other options in Silverdale, I would switch - in fact, I have called Direct TV. Wish there was another option for internet. Worst customer service I have ever dealt with! Stay away - maybe I will buy some rabbit ears (got to be born before 1980 to know what they are.....). I live in the small area of Seattle where I can't get Comcast. My options are Wave or CenturyLink with satellite - just don't want a satellite dish on my roof. I had Comcast when I lived in Bellevue. I agree with John McCain that it is unreasonable to expect consumers to pay for tons of channels that they don't use. However, that is what we all do to access reruns of Law and Order SVU and get our precious HBO at all times. So my experience comparing Wave to Comcast: Pros to Wave: - Wave has much better customer service than Comcast. They get there quickly and help you until you are fixed. - Neither have many service interruptions, but Wave has had none in a year and a half. Comcast usually had an annual service interruption. Con to Wave: - I pay a lot more for what I get on Wave than what I used to get on Comcast. - Wave has many fewer channels on Demand. You can't get Fox or CBS on Demand. - There is MUCH less HD content available on Demand. - There is a serious limit to the Internet speed I have available to me. If I had a choice, I would pick Comcast over Wave because I would get more for what I paid for. But my hope is to pull the plug on cable completely as soon as the experience is more similar. PS - I don't know how Seattle feels they are preventing Comcast from having a monopoly by requiring a different service in certain areas. It just means that different areas work with a different one company. read more

The worst Internet service I've ever had to deal with. The connection is terrible but apparently that's just because "the area I'm in." So basically just paying for a service I can barely use and one they can't seem to fix even after a technician spent an hour trying to figure out in turn just making the connection worse with a new router some how. Then the only appointments to try and resolve this problem are inconvenient all day apts because your paying customers are less urgent than ppl just starting with you. Wave broadband is so poorly run I can hardly explain it. I bought a home in June and contacted them to start internet service. They showed up a week later and told me they could not complete it because they would have to run lines under the road to hook me up. And although they said it would take 5 weeks it wouldn't cost me anything. So I waited and waited and called over and over being told that they didn't know a timetable yet. Eventually (5 weeks later) I talked to someone who wasn't a liar and they told me it would cost $5000 to do it and I would have to pay. Wave is the worst. On hold for an hour. I help my neighbor pay his bill. They have charged him $35 a month for 7 months because he gets shut off every month. They said they notified customers in their bills. He only reads Russian so how was he supposed to know. Was told at woodburn location they would try to get charges reversed and would take 2 days. Having to switch from Comcast (which I hate with the fire of a thousand suns) to another lesser-known internet provider was just another annoyance for me when I first moved to Beacon Hill. The man who did the installation tried to up-sell us on TV service more than once, but after the initial install, everything worked perfectly. The only times I've had to call customer service have been when we forget to pay the bill for a couple months (whoops) and had to pay over the phone (only a $6 late fee - not bad), and when service was interrupted due to a problem with our own equipment. Both times, the customer service people were kind, conversational, and when we had the problem with our service, the man on the phone walked me through debugging, restarting, and reconnecting with both our Mac and PC. Another company would have told me to call the product manufacturer, I guarantee it. And perhaps it's just our location, but the speed is just fine. There are two reasons why I'm giving such a low rating and why I would never recommend Wave. 1. The equipment just doesn't work. I upgraded to their new Arris system two months ago and have experienced nothing but problems. Over a dozen calls to technical support, eight visits to my home from technicians, and two replaced boxes later, my cable box still gives me messages that say, "Network not available." They did finally get my wireless to work, but only after recommending that I purchase an Apple $200 Airport Extreme to deliver my wireless signal. The explanation as to why I had to make that purchase was ridiculous, but I was desperate to get my internet working. 2. The customer service is poor. First, I've asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor about the troubles I've been having. Each time, I'm told I'll receive a call back within 24-48 hours. I've never gotten a call back. Second, while I have received several billing discounts for my troubles, that's only happened after I've specifically asked for them. But what's most troubling is that I can't seem to get anyone there to care that I'm having these troubles, that I'm calling repeatedly just trying to get equipment to work, that I've taken hours and hours off work to wait for them at my house. It's just a groundhog day-like cycle of me calling tech support, tech support issuing a trouble ticket, me waiting at home for the cable guy. Lather, rinse, repeat (repeat, repeat, repeat). I've been nice. I've been patient. I've been understanding. But now I'm taking to Yelp to vent my frustrations in the futile hope that maybe somebody at Wave monitors this, will contact me, and do something to make me feel better about this debacle. But I don't have high hopes for that. My recommendation: Don't go with Wave. Look to other options. read more

Wave used to be a decent company. It was local and they seemed to care about fixing problems when they occurred. Ever since they were purchased by RCN Telecom Services the service has declined. I've had many more outages, the last one lasting three days! During that three days I called periodically to get updates. Each time I got a recorded message saying that service would be restored by (take current time and add an hour and a half). After two days the recording also included a promise to add a credit to my bill for the outage. Of course it didn't happen. I would have let the whole thing go as bad internet juju, but I was so aggravated with the run-around that I called to insist upon the credit. That involved an hour long wait on the phone with absolutely hideous music (I wonder how many people kill themselves after listening to it for more than a few minutes!), and voice recognition software that couldn't recognize the commands it demanded. If you have another option, use it! read more

We pay for premium high speed service and yet the inconsistency of internet service is very frustrating. Recently Google delinked from their e-mail program and the technical instructions on the server were poorly explained. Despite three different calls to tech support, they haven't been able to correct my access to e-mail. Today was priceless: "Hmmm, we don't know what to tell you since you have a Mac. Maybe you could just take your computer into the Apple store and they could help you." Totally worthless!!!! read more

Last year, Wave scrapped our previous agreement (the most basic cable internet) by more than doubling the price and requiring that we get additional equipment. There was no choice in the matter. When I asked for a contract for the new arrangement (some guidelines regarding price setting and services delivered), they refused. This week, they "improved" our service by revising our basic cable television plan to remove 2 out of the 4 channels we actually watch. Such terrible business practices. Wave Broadband is a horrible, dishonest company. Summary: We are now paying over $100/month for slow cable internet service, the Big Three television networks, and a bunch of other rando channels (no cable news, no AMC). I use Wave Internet at my workplace and unfortunately it's the only option for the area. On a daily basis, we lose internet AT LEAST 3 times a day and it's usually after midday. I have called customer service on multiple occasions and have yet to find someone who doesn't hang up on me or talk to me with a serious attitude problem. I do not recommend this company. read more

Initial bid/wiring for my house on Beacon Hill wasn't perfect. The guy was kindof rude and implied that I would have to buy the TV package to make it "worth it" for him to install wiring to my house. (I ended up compromising and saying I would sign up for a landline- as a single woman I am used to being treated like crap by salesmen- lame!) The installers were meh. Tracked dirt in and out, took hours, etc. However! When I called to cancel the landline (I don't even own the phone to plug in!) the representative who I talked to was listening carefully and when he got the whole story out of me, he was professional, super apologetic and credited me with two months of landline cost (not much, but the thought counts!) Also, he gave me a free upgrade to 15 mbps. Versus the other customer service encounters I've had with wireless companies (esp Comcast) this was a miraculous interaction. I have had Wave Broadband for 27 years. They used to have great customer service. Now they have NONE. When you call them it tells you you will have a wait of 20 min. or more. It will be more because they cut you off after awhile. I went over to the Better Business site to file a complaint and it is a major problem for them w/the same complaint from many customers dating back for weeks. I have been more or less satisfied with Wave Broadband these last five years, understanding that life is never perfect. But I am so infuriated with them right now. They came to look at a minor glitch I was having with devices losing signal and left me without any internet at all saying my equipment had given out. The hold times to call back to resolve the issue were one hour the first call and 55 minutes the second call. I spent $350 purchasing new equipment and it still doesn't work. They can't get a technician out until two days from now which makes it a full week that I will have been without internet. Absolutely unacceptable. I have no other choice other than Comcast which is worse. This is the world we're creating by eliminating small, local businesses. read more

Wave customer services are horrible. They scheduled me twice last saturday and today for a technician to come in for installed, no one shown up nor a call. Every time I call them, long wait. and finally today I have to take a half day off from work just to come home to wait that no one shown up, still have to be on the phone to call for update. A supervisor said my workorder has no technican to scheduled to come. I wasted so many time with Wave. They said they just updated their billing systems, why don't they updated their customer service and change management/ dispatch systems?? After talking to Gabrielle, my fees have been adjusted to $80.74 from the 118.38 I was being charged. I still think that I should be refunded for the money overcharged for a few months. I have upgraded my feedback from 1 star to 4 stars instead of 5 because the company showed good will to fix the situation. However, I don't think this should have happened in the first place and wonder how many people are overpaying. This happens when companies grow too fast but it does show there is no intention to defraud but are overwhelmed by their success. read more

Technical support is never any help and billing , when you can get them on the phone, isnt willing to do anything about gaps in service. My advice would be to avoid this wi-fi service like the plague. I have rented for the past 7 years and this wi-fi was chosen by my landlord because they had a bad experience with Century Link. Therefore, I can either opt out and avoid the extra charge to my monthly rent or try and put up with this crappy provider. We have had one of their "technicians" out here at least 5 times over the years and we always get the same result - no improvement and now we are being told that all future "service calls" will cost 50 dollars!!! I am writing this review after experiencing a series of typical drop offs that occurred during one 40 minute HBO TV show. The picture stops and eventually it says "Can't Play Video". If I refresh it eventually it comes back then fails again after 5 minutes or so. I wish I could afford to drop this crap and pay for my own satellite wi-fi but I can't. I am completely fed up with the piss poor service provided by Wave Broadband. I have heard that Xfiinity is a lot better but they do not provide service in my area. Very, very frustrating. read more

I've had nothing but disappointment in the last 48 hours from WAVE while trying to upgrade my system as they've required. I had to drive to the nearest store to pick up a new modem, 1 hour away. Got the modem and was told all I needed to do was plug it in and it was ready to go. Not the case. There was no internet connection when I connected it. Called in and was told that a service tech would be out in 6 days or I could drive back to there store to get another modem. Called in a second time and asked that they reactivate my old modem and they couldn't even get that to come back online, but they upgraded my service call to come out the next day. Modem turned out to be working. Service is just really slow to activate and update....can take hours. I ended up having to get a new router too and went with the Eero that they've been pushing. Finally everything was working again after $$, now I've contacted them to get the Eero Secure so my kids can be safe while on line. You can't just sign up for this through the Eero App as advertised. You have to go through WAVE. Eero has 2 levels of protection, but WAVE only offers the more expensive at $9.99/mo. Seriously? I can't even protect my kids with their device. I'll be returning it and purchasing my own. read more

I honestly don't know how people are complaining about customer service in their reviews! I've had a Wave account for almost two years now (internet only), and the service has been phenomenal. While I don't have internet the speed of light, I have gotten incredible experiences with their staff, who have left me smiling every time. When my first roommate moved out and I had to turn over the service, they were able to re-sign me up as a "new" customer, saving me over $100 this year with NO service interruptions. I literally am laughing at the jokes their customer service operators make when I call them because they're REALLY NICE AND FUNNY. I've even gone down to their offices and have had a pleasant experience there. Keep being awesome, Wave! read more

We just had Wave internet and TV installed. So far we're happy with both. However, we decided to add additional channels to our TV service. Wave doesn't provide the ability to do this online like DISH and DirectTV do. So I've called them several times now, been on hold for hours (literally). Still on hold as I write this review. Starting to get the idea that Wave is not big on customer service - and all I want to do it give them more money. Pretty lame. read more

I really enjoyed Wave when I had it living in Beacon Hill. I came here and read all the negative reviews and was really surprised! The internet was fast and reliable, and I only remember it going out once in the two years I lived there. The customer service was great and they fixed it pretty fast. The area I live now doesn't offer Wave and I'm super bummed because I'm stuck with Comcast. I hope Wave branches out more soon. read more

I originally had Directv when I moved up here from California but switched to Wave for a special on bundling services back in 2009. The price continued to go up with no new services so I was thinking about switching back to Directv. I was talked out of it by a Wave customer service representative last May who offered me a great deal for another year and an upgrade on equipment. I said okay and they came out to switch equipment. I then was charged a service charge fee and the monthly bill was higher than I was told it would be. I immediately called up Directv and scheduled an installation and cancelled Wave. I now pay only $125 a month for cable,internet, and home phone. When I left Wave my bill was almost $175 a month. I also get BBC in my Directv package and I had to pay an extra $17 per month to get it from Wave.I also get more on demand channels than I did with Wave. read more

I am so frustrated with Wave Broadband. I was on hold yesterday for over 90 minutes before deciding to just go into a retail store location over 40 miles away. Every, single, day, my internet drops. Sometimes half a dozen times a night. It is known to drop for more than an hour at times. Recently, we upgraded to the GIG speed internet. I was told I didn't need a new modem by the sales associate. After some independent research it turned out our old Hitron modem could only handle 200gb/s, much less than the advertised speeds. I then went to the website and found a list of two modems that were certified for use on Wave's GIG speed internet. We took our old modem to a retail store to exchange it, only to find out they didn't have the two modems they certify. I was sent home with a Hitron CGNVM-3582. This is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem with the fatally flawed Intel Puma 6 chipset which is known to have terrible latency and drop connection all the time. It is also a modem/router combo, so despite my having a pretty decent Nighthawk I'll likely be charged more for a router I'm not going to use. At the retail location I asked the associate if they could help me with the spotty internet service. I was told that I would have to call technical support... I am currently on hold now... its been about half an hour. read more

Very very insidious service. Even the better speeds run slow and Wave increases their prices on you in a very sneaky manner. The charge goes up a buck or two a month until its shortly 50%, then 75% more than it was several months ago......relentlessly, all the while performance declines. The local Wave folks aren't really helpful....then when you tell them performance has declined, they are more than willing to sell you speed for even more $$. And I thought AT&T cell phone billing was bad....... Wave takes the cake. Look elsewhere if you have another option. read more

This is an update to the two earlier scathing reviews of Wave's awful customer service that I wrote. Gabrielle L. from Wave gave me a Wave email for help with my issues; Sarah responded back and forth with me to resolve things, and 2 of my 3 issues have been resolved (I have working digital TV, she emailed me a bill so that I could pay online with my new account number, etc.). The last issue (I lost my Wi-Fi connection) will require me to pay more per month for a Wave modem/router instead of my personal modem, if I want Wi-Fi. I'm still emailing with her about that, but at least I can communicate with someone! I'd give Wave a higher rating if I hadn't had to go through the misery I did before contacting Sarah. read more
