The food absolutely fills up your craving. The restaurant was very clean, featured clean restrooms as well. Easy to find parking too and they usually have a baseball game playing in the background. The Buffalo chicken had no flavor let alone any spices. The fries literally had neither salt nor any seasoning. Do yourself a favor, eat anyone else. I must admit my opinion is a bit tainted since I ate and loved the original in Delaware before it became a franchise. The service was quick and friendly. I also appreciate the kiosk for self service, especially if it is a busy Saturday at what passes for a mall on HHI. I appreciate the plentiful choices of preselected burgers, including the Carolina, with pulled pork and Cole slaw. But since this was our first time, we went with the originals which were double patties with the usual lettuce, tomatoes pickles and the ketchup and mustard blend. The burgers were nicely cooked smash burgers, with fresh toppings. Th3 pickles stood out the most,though the meat seemed like it was not seasoned with either salt or pepper.the tater tots I had as my side were good but just tater tots. My wife's fries were outstanding and crispy, even holding up well under the cheese sauce. It was worth a shot, but Five Guys is just better. We ran out of time before our next appointment so I did not try a milkshake. If I am in the area I will be back for a shake. read more

I got the featured Mango Habanero chicken sandwich and it was so good and really hit the spot! It was sweet, spicy, and absolutely delicious. The chicken was so plump and juicy and the breading was not heavy or over oily at all. You can tell that this place was a very popular tourist spot for everyone waiting to check into their hotels, Airbnb's, etc. The vibe was so relaxing but also has a diner-ish feel. Website made it sound like it was going to be this great big Deal with fried onions. I don't know where the onions were. This was our first time visiting Wayback burgers. The cashier was very patient and nice as we were making our selections for five people of course. I was excited to see that they had a veggie burger on the menu in which I must say it was very tasty. The Cajun tater tot's were awesome along with the sauce they had a little kick to it. A regular fry we had to send back because it was cold but they replaced it so quickly with a hot fry. My husband ordered the big easy but he received the classic burger so when we took it back to get the correct burger it was not a problem. They gladly made the correct burger and brought it out to our table. The boys had buffalo chicken tenders and they love them along with their bacon cheese fries. Overall a very good experience, clean establishment, friendly workers. My only concern was the worker that did not wear his mask appropriately considering he was helping with food preparation. read more

The bathrooms were so dirty and the sink was covered grim; I chose to just my hand sanitizer. When my son's food arrived, there was a black hair breaded into the chicken finger. The HHI location is nice with ample parking and an outside dining option. My typical go to is the classic combo with two beef patties. On this visit, I went with the single. The burger, along with a small fry hit the sweet spot. Take advantage of the topping options. Items like mushrooms, jalapeños and pepper jack cheese adds a nice pop. As with other locations, service can be a bit hit and miss depending on who is behind the counter. Just go in expecting to place an order and get a homemade type burger at a reasonable price. During our trip, we headed to Wayback Burger multiple times. It's a casual sit-down restaurant with take out options. I feel like they should have more employees working at any given time, but as long as you avoid going during rush times, it's a really pleasant experience. Protip: You can order for pick-up online or on their app. Unless you're really dedicated to eating in the restaurant, I recommend you do that. It gives you a recommended time to show up, and you'll avoid the longer lines or busy spurts the restaurant gets into. PROS: -The staff seem super friendly when they aren't packed. They remembered us when we came back later in the week, and he suggested some modifications to our order to make it a bit cheaper for us. -Wayback Burgers has some beers on tap as well. If you end up having to wait for an order, you can always enjoy a nice beer while waiting for your order. -The interior is pretty clean - especially compared to most fast food burger places. The floor isn't sticky and the drink area has always been clean. -If you want to eat your food in the restaurant, there are quite a few tables and chairs (without arms) to choose from. Very casual, seat-yourself type of seating. Depending on how busy they are, they'll call out your name when your order is done or will bring the order to your table. -The food itself is delicious. We especially love the burgers and the chicken sandwiches, honestly. They taste so delicious, the beef is so good, and all of it is really good. Tator tots are super good when they're really warm, so I recommend trying to keep your food as warm as possible if you're getting food to-go. -(As a note, the takeout food has traveled pretty decently for us on a 15-minute drive). -We love the sides offerings. Unlike most burger places, you have a couple different options. Onion rings, tater tots, french fries, and more. They even have a half-and-half orders so you can have half french fries and half onion rings. -They have the same options for burgers and chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. Pick your base item and build your ideal food with your choice of condiments and toppings. Perfect for picky eaters and families full of people who can't usually agree on a specific type of food. CONS: -Wayback Burgers seems to operate on very minimal staff. Like the number of employees they'd need to subsist during dead hours. This means that the rushes are particularly rough on them. When we've shown up during rushes, the poor employees seem frazzled and very overworked. And it's insane how many burgers they're getting out during those moments. Ordering online or through the app help a lot for avoiding long waits if you happen to show up during a rush. read more
