Gets a two star from me since the hamburgers are well done and just average the last two times we have gone there for take out. The onion rings and chicken salad were good. Food is edible and a step over a drive through chain however they bill to be a top burger joint and I can get well done and average somewhere else. In addition service can be improved since the order was not 100 percent correct once in March. read more

I like this place enough that I've been back there 5 or 6 times in the past year or so. So far I've had the chipotle, the classic burger, the bacon burger and the rodeo I think it was called. My least favorite was the rodeo because the meat flavor was a bit off, a bit gamey but dripping in oil. My favorite is definitely the chipotle burger. Delicious. The home made chips are great too. My only favorite burger place in Monroe, Middletown, Warwick area. The owner has an awesome personality, a great person overall. This place is the best place to get burgers!! Doesn't compare to Wendy's or any other fast food. I don't even consider Jake's fast food. Best burgers, very juicy and tender, fresh food, and quick! Best philly cheesesteaks I have ever had! I wish they brought back their ghost pepper sauce. Their mac n cheese bites are the best and so are their irish nachos. Their milkshakes are amazing!! The service and people are impeccable! Their chipotle mayo is my favorite! Very clean and the restaurant as a whole is inviting and amazing. I recommend this place above all! read more

So many burger options, so many delicious sides and the milkshakes are to die for!! Better than any Five Guys or Burger Fi I've ever had! Nice spot in Monroe . Very old fashioned in its style but modern with food. Reminds me of Leo's Luncheonette in Irvington, NY from my middle school and High School years. Food was really good. Burgers were juicy and well seasoned. Fries were not too salty. Milkshakes were defiantly the best in Monroe and I can argue even in Orange County. Would patronize again. read more

Well, I ordered off the menu, a "Philly" burger with fries. I asked for the fries well-done. That was a problem because the person at the only register did not know how to order well-done fries. She asked the grill cook whose response I did not hear. Bottom line, I got a cheesesteak, (not a Philly burger) and fries that were not well-done. Maybe they may want to rethink the names of their offerings if they confuse their staff. They were more than happy to make me the right item, but being that everything is cooked fresh, I didn't want to wait. (It was the height of lunch and the only two staff there were the grill cook and the order person) . As the grill cook and order person argued over my order, a person walked in, I assumed a manager. I told them I just wanted to take what they made and go. The manager offered a coupon for my inconvenience, (if I was willing to wait). I again had to ask for my food so I could go. Its hard to get a good burger in the Monroe area. Have to say not half bad. Burger was juicy and not over cooked at all. Milk shake was very solid as well. The fries were decent but pales in comparison to five guys. No beer was a let down. You gotta have some brew with your burger. Trendy chain restaurants like Moe's and Chipotle server beer now. What's not to like about fresh made burgers, tasty fries, and REALLY good shakes to wash it all down! The portions are a little bit much if you get the double patty (especially if you also ordered the aforementioned fries and shake), so start small and work up if you need to. The only thing I didn't like is that they never have anything except the YES Network on their TVs. Seriously just go with ESPN if you're going to put on a sports channel or better yet tune to a music channel. But I'm not rating their programming just their food :) ....soooo 5 stars! read more

Yum. Loved my burger....got a Cheeseburger Jake's Way. Very juicy and even the bun was delicious and soft. Had the onion rings on the side, which were battered, crunchy and perfect. Added on the Jake's gold dipping sauce for them, which tasted like a honey mustard. Will definitely go back. Only waited about ten minutes for take out and the place was clean and hopping for a saturday afternoon at lunch time! read more

We've been going to Jake's Wayback for a few years now. Tonight when we got home we saw a big difference in the size of the burgers- they were smaller. Even my kids noticed before I even mentioned it! We hope this isn't a permanent thing. If so, there's many other burger places we can go to. read more

Jakes burgers reminded me of Wendy's when their burgers were first introduced to our area. Very juicy with a good taste. Fries were also good. The restaurant was clean. This place replaced the old Pizza Hut joint that was here. And after such long time Monroe has real burgers again. The food is really fresh and delicious ( if you can call a fast food delicious ). Guilty pleasure of a cheeeeeesey burger and Irish nachos, shake and burger of the month are usually great (this April particularly, that salted caramel chocolate shake is killer). Different burger joint in the heart of Monroe. They serve fresh, made-to-order burgers and sides, hand spun milkshakes and they have draft beer! On paper, they're a winner but the service is seriously lacking. We've been three times and all three times our order has been incorrect. Once the order is corrected, the burgers are wonderful. These are the thin but juicy and flavorful patties a la 5 Guys but better. The Irish nachos are perfect after a night of one too many libations.
