We were the only people in the entire place for dinner and somehow our server never refilled my water nor did he check on us more than twice. The kid's menu was a rip off, I have never seen such high prices for chicken tenders. Our kids ordered off the adult menu instead. As it is against my culture to consume bacon. The server with glasses and long black hair (in a ponytail) returned with my food after picking the bacon off of it...but the food still smelled like bacon. Savory and satisfying, wish the eggs were fried a touch longer but very happy with the dish Belgian Waffle Benedict with ham was layers of texture and flavors. The waffle was fluffy and sweet without being overwhelming. The ham and cheese added a bit of saltiness and the poached egg with hollandaise sauce added creaminess. My friend and I stopped here to eat after visiting the NP. We got seated right away. The waiter took our order, he brought out my drink in a bit and then we never saw him again. Some other waiter brought me the wrong food then came back with the right plate. I got the burger with blue cheese on it. It was ok. My friend got the crab salad. My fries had a weird flavor to them. While we were eating (we had the parking lot view) there were several flies buzzing around us. When we got the bill it was $70! I was like what in the world did we order? Delighted to find a nicer restaurant in Estes open during winter season. Don't be fooled by the outside -- this place is classy and comfortable, and the food is excellent! Service was top-notch; Jesus made sure we had everything we needed. And the FOOD! (Did I mention the food?!) They have an extensive menu that includes seafood, beef, elk, and duck. My husband ordered the special -- a NY Strip. I ordered the Cast Iron Ribeye with homemade mashed potatoes and these amazing parmesan-topped fried Brussels sprouts. Clean plate club times two! We went here for a late lunch on a Saturday and the patio overlooking the river was not open yet so we were seated in the main dining room. I started with an IPA and the wife had an amber ale and both were excellent. I had the turkey reuben and it was very good. The wife had the 1/2 and 1/2--one half sandwich and small cup of soup. She had half a reuben and a small cup of the green Chile pork stew. It was excellent, deep flavors with a nice kick of heat. The service was fine except the food took a long time to come out. I am giving it 4 stars because the corned beef was pretty fatty and the slow food service. Otherwise, we enjoyed our meal and I would like to return to get a seat overlooking the river. read more

We have always driven by, but never stopped in until yesterday. We ate here for lunch and had a delightful meal! I had the Mountain Man burger while my wife had the Super Salad. My burger was spectacular! One of the better burgers I've ever had (better than at a famous chef's in NYC). My wife's salad was fresh and tasty. We both remarked numerous times how much we were enjoying our respective meals. The server was friendly and very attentive and the ambiance was inviting. I'm now sorry we've driven by so often. We were looking for a dinner restaurant after driving through RMNP and were wondering where to go that wouldn't have a long wait for 14 people. We weren't too sure how easy that would be since it was also Elk Fest in Estes Park. We came across the Wayfinder. We'd been here for breakfast before and that had been amazing so we were hopeful for dinner too. We had a fantastic experience! We're were able to get a couple tables together. Big shout out to our waitress Larissa who kept track of our individual tickets and meals for our large group. Don't let the outside fool you! Elegant and upscale inside with a great bar and dining area inside. The dining area has terrific view. We found our way over to Wayfinder this past weekend. After spending the day in Estes, we've driven by this spot a handful of times, and took the plunge. It was a cold windy day, so outdoor seating wasn't an option, but apparently they have a wonderful view! Our experience differed from what other Yelpers have written. Though not abysmal, we didn't receive the warm and friendly service mentioned in reviews. It was a slow day during COVID, and it seemed like nobody was really interested in being there or taking care of us. Eventually a server came over to us and we ordered right away. The menu has salads, sandwiches, a few Colorado staples, etc. I landed on going half and half on Rocky Mountain Pork Green Chili and a Reuben sandwich for $12. I added fries for $3. The description of the Pork Green Chili didn't match what I received. I got more of a tortilla chip instead of a grilled baguette/crostini. Also no pico de gallo, just crumbled cheese on top. I'm a soup junkie on a cold day, but I was hoping for more oomph from the Green Chili. It didn't have that intense warmth and heat to it I was expecting. The Reuben was much better. The bread was spot on. The meat on it's own had good flavor, but made for a tough bite as opposed to a tender one. Which usually means it wasn't sliced properly. Looking at the menu, I realized I didn't receive a pickle either. Based on reviews, especially recent ones, I was expecting a knockout meal. Unfortunately, Wayfinder left more to be desired. However, there's always the chance of popping in on an off day. With a few modifications I can see this spot being a real winner! read more

I came in with a reservation for a party of 14 people. We waited for about 5 minutes at the host stand, though they knew we were coming and it was almost completely empty. Service was relatively quick and fine, server was very kind and helpful. Everyone agreed halfway through the meal that was incredibly subpar. For the prices everything was lukewarm/cold, one of the meals had two hairs in it, the steaks asked for medium well had no pink in it, everything was bland in flavor and just didn't taste very fresh or good quality. Our total with 14 meals and 4 appetizers was $625 which is totally reasonable... if the meal was higher quality. We talked to the server about it and she did allot us 10% off which was very kind and greatly appreciated. If you're looking for bang for your buck I'd steer clear. We also came in at 5:30 on a Saturday night and there was 6 other people inside, parking lot empty... which is very strange. read more

If you like cheese, you've got to get the Queso Fundido. Unfortunately, between my husband and I alone we were so incredibly full we had to take our entrees home for later. In terms of venue, the location and design of this restaurant is stellar, with a wonderful forest view through the large windows lining the back wall of the restaurant. It does not feel like you're near a major street in Estes, great for a relaxed evening. The food was delicious and filling, although there were some slight complaints regarding the style of calamari and the way the salad was plated; the crab was not as appetizing coming in a big blob rather than well-dressed. I would also appreciate better options for sides with burgers as the fries seem most agreeable but are rather plain. The pricing is ultimately what precludes me from giving this a 5 star, as for the same cost in many other wonderful locations I'd be much more satisfied with creativity and detail. Nonetheless, a valuable stop, if not outshined when you can only eat once in Estes. read more
