Dr. Press and his staff provided exceptional care when I was experiencing debilitating back pain. I started experiencing strong lower back pain about 3.5 weeks ago. I went a week just dealing with it. The pain then expanded to my right thigh and down my leg and up my torso. It was a shooting pain. That was when I went to see Dr. Press. He did an initial examination in which he felt spasms in my back. He then took x-rays and saw a bulging disc. He told me that I could expect about 6 sessions of therapy which included first an electro-massage ( I believe this is right) and then followed up by Dr. Press adjusting my back. I've been coming to Wayne Press Chiropractic for about five years on and off. Whenever I screw up my back, neck, or hip Dr. Press gets me back to full strength. The first time I went to Dr. Press I had screwed up my back really badly playing basketball. I could barely get in the car, let alone stand up and have a normal day. As I had never been to a chiropractor I was a bit skeptical but I was pretty desperate to try anything to get my back to feel better. It took about six or seven visits every other day to finally regain full mobility and to be pain-free. But every visit resulted in a marked improvement. Since then whenever I have a issue with my back or neck I will go to Dr. Press. Even when I don't have an appointment I'm in and out of there within 30 to 40 minutes. That level of service is pretty hard to find anywhere. The staff, from the therapists to the billing department, is always very helpful and friendly. Piriformis/sciatica pain!! This pain is bringing me out of Yelp review retirement! I didn't know what it was until it happened to me... it's a constant tension/twitching in the middle of your butt cheek (I'm not kidding). Sometimes I would get a shooting pain down my left leg. I would try to stretch it out myself but it didn't help. I went to another chiropractor before Dr. Wayne and was dealing with this pain for at least 6 months. Typically I was going about 1-2 times a week and I never really saw improvement and found myself trying to massage the pain out myself. I went into Dr. Wayne's office and the pain was gone within 3 visits over 2 weeks...Doc...thank you!!! That trigger point release was killer but I know it's what helped me heal faster. Within 3 visits, Dr. Press fixed a lower back issue that had been bothering me for months. I have moderate/severe scoliosis that was treated with spinal fusion surgery 2 years ago. So I'm fused from T3 to T12, but Dr. Press is still able to adjust my neck and lower back. So...the lower back issue was pretty ongoing (right side only -- kind of like a pulling sensation) and I was amazed that it completely disappeared within just 2-3 weeks. About 10 years ago while I was driving the week during Christmas shopping rush I was severely cut off by an impatient driver. I was driving at about 40 MPH when the impatient driver cut in front of me to get into a parking lot that was full so he stopped completely in my lane. I hit the brakes hard and was able to just steer out of the way into the center turning lane with only inches to spare. That night I developed a severe pain near my shoulder, on my back. I went for some massages over the years as the pain was always there. Sometimes it was so bad that it was hard to do normal tasks and other times it was just an annoyance. I would take pain meds when it was really bad, but they just lessened the pain when it was bad. Out of a sheer consequence that my former primary care physician could not fill out a physical form that I needed for the DMV, I got a recommendation to see Dr. Press to get that done. He was able to see me next day and we did what had to be done for that. I then simply asked him about some of the back pains I have as he is a Chiropractor. He then felt some parts of my back and took me in as a patient. From just the first session the pain started to subside. By the 4th session I basically do not feel any pain there anymore. I also have some neck and lower back pains that are mostly gone. Last week was the first week in DECADES that I was able to stand and do yard work without a hint of any back pain. I thought it was just years of motorcycle riding and doing dumb stuff that I would just have to live with a certain level of standard pain in my back, but I can say that Dr. Press has changed my outlook on this. I was experiencing lots of relapses despite have lost weight and putting my sports on hiatus. But after seeking another opinion I was informed that my Sacral Iliac joint was out and would need several adjustments until it got back in. (Thankfully then New Doctor's approach only took 4 visits to get my hip back together.) I am sorry that after 4 years of seeing Dr. Press that he wasn't interested enough in my case to take a deeper look or tell me the truth that he just did not know what was going on with my hip. His staff is top notch, gave me the best care, always sweet, professional, caring each and every one of them. But I was disappointed that after 4 years of chronic issues Dr. Press couldn't find a way heal me or try a different approach. He did the same adjustments without trying anything new - often leaving things out, many times I had to ask for certain adjustments as he seemed to be going through the motions without a lot of thought. I am aware that Chiropractic care is like bathing and you have to keep going back to be adjusted for maintenance. I just felt that his bread and butter is auto accident patients and that he was not interested in looking at the deeper reasons why my hip was acting up after years of loyal visits. His is a kind man, very affable and I wish him well. But I needed to seek other consul when it became too painful to walk even after losing weight and giving up my sports for 8 months. I was just so frustrated and couldn't get the relief I needed. His office was kind enough to hand deliver my X-Rays to the new Chiropracter when requested. Grateful for that. A year ago in June 2021, I threw out my back somehow and Dr Press fixed it in no time! I went back for two weeks, every other day and as soon as my pain stopped, he told me to only come back once a month! I didn't listen. Flash forward to exactly a year later, June 2022 and I threw my back out AGAIN! This time was much worse and I was leaving for a cruise in TWO days. I could barely walk without shooting pain. We were going to be doing lots of walking every day in France, Italy and Spain and I was worried I would have to cancel our very expensive trip. I immediately called and make an appt with Dr Press and in just ONE visit, I was already 95% better. I went back the next day for one more adjustment before my cruise and I was back to normal, even better than normal! He gave me stretches and tips for when I was gone. He's a miracle worker! I have to start by saying that this review is years overdue. I had a back issue and went in to Dr. Wayne Press's location and I will never forget it. Being in my mid-20s at the time, nobody was taking me seriously about my back injury. The moment I walked in, Dr. press was genuine, concerned, respectful, everything that I was looking for. he give me some treatments and went through the motions with me, and sent me on my way with a couple of ice packs. this is not why I am writing this review. It is what came afterward that speaks volumes. I was still in extreme extreme amount of pain and Dr. press went the extra mile and called me and said, " Brian, I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and called and got you an appointment to get an MRI. I think it's important that we do this." I went and got the MRI and that SAME day I got a call from Dr. Press saying that he reviewed my MRI. he called me saying that that he is referring me to an orthopedic surgeon to consult with and said that he is the best recommendation that he can give me. I met with Dr. Nourian with Ventura Orthopedics and he explained that I had a ruptured disc all over my sciatic nerve that's been going on for three months. Dr Nourian was very competent and knew exactly what needed to be done to fix my situation. Dr. Press KNEW that I needed help and recognized that I had something serious going on. Within a few days I was in the operating room and walked out of the facility. A few weeks of recovery and I was back to work. 6 months later, I am squatting 225lbs; something impossible in my past due to my injury. The purpose of this review is to let everyone know that Dr. Press took me seriously, and I would not be where I am today without him. Not only him, but his staff is so nice and professional. Wow! Dr. Press sure knows how to "press" out the pain! After a month of literally a pain in the butt, after one visit he worked the Puriformis muscle so well I was able to stop my 800 mg ibuprofen twice a day! I'm thinking this developed after two years of "COVID" sitting! Several more visits and adjustments to go but I'm so happy already. I went to Dr. Press for some mid and lower back pain. I have scoliosis so a I know my problems will not go away though at times I need some additional help to reduce the pain level. I went in for 4 treatments and feel I am at a manageable level for now. I like that Dr. Press continually asks how I feel and also inquires about my level of improvement. I can not speak more highly of Dr. Press and his staff. I took a bad fall on my stairs late on Friday resulting in my lower back being completely locked up with relentless spasms which nearly caused me to call 911. I made it through the night and called Dr. Press on Saturday at 8AM. With the help of my Love, I was in his office within an hour and received treatment immediately.
