It's Tuesday night. Or Friday night. Any night. Off the intersection of Rice and Umi streets, WB's is great for Hot Pot, Filipino food, steak, and Asian appetizers. It's actually the intersection for southeast Asian cuisines. Brightly painted walls, weathered concrete floors, decor from Ross Dress for Less. Don't let the fact that several restaurants occupied this space and failed over the last ten years. The restaurant itself is divey, but the food is wonderful.

Side of broth and grilling fun! So good

We stumbled into this gem after seeing the holiday lights at the town hall and lucky us!! It was Sunday night and not super busy. The service was excellent! There was only two of us so we didn't order the hot pot but we asked for a side of the broth, which she brought and we ordered the dish that you grill the meats and shrimp with the veggie option OMG everything was awesome and we got a bunch of sauces (see pics). We were in Kauai for five nights and this was our favorite meal!! They have a really lounge-y bar connected also which looked fun but we were tired from traveling so left with full stomachs and happy hearts. Thank you for everything!

This whole experience was enjoyable. We started out with the salt and pepper buttered wings. These wings were so ono!!!! Crispy perfection! Then followed with the beef hot pot. The broth was rich and deep flavored compared to other places that offer pho on the island. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and clean. We did order an extra side of beef and pork for the hot pot, but for more reserved appetites the included quantity should suffice.

The first hot pot ever on Kauai. This place has been open for a couple of months and it got taken over by a wonderful lady Named Wilma B last week. It's original name was The Lihue Cafe and then it later became many other things and cuisines in the past. I think for now this new owner has brought new and fresh ideas to Kauai and hope it'll stay. She plans to have more hot pots and tabletop barbecue which will start by June of this year. She will be featuring Friday night buffets which will consist of local style and Filipino foods. Tonight's hot pot consisted pork, beef, shrimp, squid, a array of vegetables, and phó noodles. The broth was very flavorful. We had half beef and half chicken, only cause we couldn't decide. The beef broth by far was our favorite. This could feed 3-4 people and it costs $29.00. There's other things you can choose from the menu. Rice plates to soup bowls to vermicelli bowls & stir fry. It's very clean and neat. The interior is very pretty and makes you feel comfortable. They might be a little slow on service, but just be patient because they just started. Give it a try, it's worth it. Congratulations Wilma and good luck!

An example of the hot pot dish. We ordered an extra helping of noodles (since there were 4 adults) and that was enough for us.

For the first hot pot place on Kauai, it's really good if you are a fan of Vietnamese dishes (e.g. pho) as the broth is really tasty (we had the beef broth). It is not your typical hot pot, as it based off of Vietnamese dishes. The vegetables were really fresh and the shrimp are rather large. They recommend that the hot pot be ordered for a minimum of 3 people, there were 4 of us, so we ordered an extra helping of noodles and that was enough for all of us. The menu choices are simple and fairly priced so you won't break the bank when you go here or walk away hungry. I recommend that you give this place a try when you are on the island.

We came to this place with high hopes because so far Kauai has very little to offer in terms of Pho. The broth at both Pho locations are watery and if the broth isn't flavorful, the Pho is awful. This place is clean, friendly, and offers great food. We ordered the beef broth hot pot with the chicken wings. I can easily say their broth is better than anything I've tried yet on the island. Their chicken wings were delicious as well. Created a yelp account so I could give them a review! Very happy customer.

Excellent service with classy breakfast and lunch with a Philippino twist on most dishes. Food served in less the 5 minutes with a exquisite look. Restaurant it's self is very very clean with ancient statues from multiple different cultures. The owner her self gave me a tour of there wonderful bar with open and 50s theme . Great place thru and thru.

The hotpot experience is something you must try for yourself. Delicious is an understatement!

Every time we're in Kauai, always dine at Eating once or twice. Fantastic food, service and views…read more We had reservations which are highly recommended. Request a table near the windows for a sunset view. We arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. Shortly afterwards we were served complementary spicy edamame. We ordered three appetizers to share. Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower, Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar and Vietnamese Style Sashimi. The Brussel Sprouts & Cauliflower was excellent, golden raisins and pine nuts add sweetness and texture, balsamic vinegar counters with wonderful acid contrast. The Black Garlic & Yuzu Ahi Tartar is simply fabulous, one of the best bites I have ever had. I first had this dish two years ago when it was introduced as a new dish in a prefix meal. On that trip we returned to enjoy the dish once again. Had it again last year as I travel to Kauai each year. I'm happy to see it is still on the menu! Our third dish was the Vietnamese Style Sashimi and it was okay, although a bit underwhelming for Eating House standards. It was fresh but lack the complexity that I have grown to expect from this restaurant. We requested some wasabi and it helped with the flavors. My thinking is the jalapeño oil should have been more concentrated or pronounced. To be clear I did not complain, regardless the dish was removed from our bill. Very nice. Thank you. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. The view at sunset was amazing. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommended!

It was great to know that there was an elevator to bring us up to the level of the restaurant…read more After a terrible experience at another restaurant, it gave me the idea to call and see if they had an elevator near by. The front desk staff guided me to the elevator. This trip was for my birthday. In every reservation when asked about a special occasion, I put birthday. This was the first restaurant to acknowledge my special day. The check-in staff wished me well as did the server. We had been to several restaurants prior to Eating House that didn't say a word. Kudos to the staff for its kindness. The restaurant is open air and very comfortable. It has a rustic feel. We were seated by the window on a cool, rainy night but were perfectly dry the whole evening. On top of that, our server was very helpful in guiding us to order the right amount of food. He brought us a serving of edamame which is always on the house. The shrimp & pork potstickers were very good. I had the ramen which was tasty, filling and a great choice. Our server was terrific to put the spicy oil on the side which made it easier for me to eat. My husband had the butterfish which is the best I have ever tasted. It is a signature dish and always a pleaser. The only real downside is the limited menu. We were told that because of a staff shortage, it wasn't the typical menu. This was disappointing. But they did have the best of the Roy's dishes. So far, it has been the best experience that we have had in Poipu.
