As expected. Way over priced hotel food. Wasn't that good either. You know what you are getting into when you come here

7/10 Got the 2 eggs any style breakfast. Solid breakfast no complaints. $26 for some eggs, bacon, and potatoes is brazy, but it's Hawaii. #shaka

Chilling on the lawn for a beach day. Our server was Jackie P. She provided great customer service. We got our drinks fast and she was pleasant to chat with. Love meeting and chatting with local hospitality people. I work in the same industry. She came back around in a timely manner and we ordered one more round of drinks. Thanks Jackie for making our day! :)

The wings were amazing! Crispy seasoned skin on the outside and tender and juicy in the middle. I ordered the sauce on the side. Expensive, but worth the price.

Sat poolside for dinner- this is the main dining option on property at the Royal Sonesta. For the convenience without even having to step off the resort, it's a solid choice. The location is poolside but where we sat there were not really any great views. There were not too many diners however the service was still fairly slow. We got a couple dishes- I thought the pork belly bun was a nice Hawaiian take and probably my favorite dish of the evening. The mahi mahi was a bit under seasoned. I was hoping for a more old fashioned tasting mocktail but it definitely has a very herbal note to it which was not particularly pleasant to me. Oh well!

The food was really good- there was a special menu for the SuperBowl that highlighted the teams. The service on the other hand was abysmal- our waitress was scatterbrained and rude at the same which was a terrible combination. She had no idea what was on the menu and accused us of making up menu items. She disappeared constantly. I wouldn't recommend KuKui's when there are so many excellent restaurants nearby.

Originally we did not come here because the reviews were not that great, then one day we were starving and they had availability. It was also hot and I didn't feel like walking 10 minutes to the next restaurant. Meanlesss to say the food and service was amazing!!! We ate all 3 meals for the rest of our time here trying almost everything on the menu and it did not disappoint. Our servers were amazing. The food is pricy anywhere you go on Kaua'i so I can't complain about portion sizing and price however the portion sizes were great! Don't come to Kauai expecting anything to be cheap, down to an apple. It's a cute restaurant inside the property of the Marriott Vacation Beach Club right next to the pool so the landscape was of course beautiful. I would 100% recommend. I also have an extremely picky 13yr old eater and he loved not only his food but mine and my husband's food which was a shocker.

Kukuis is a fun and family friendly beach/poolside restaurant at the Royal Sonesta on Kalapaki Beach in Lihue. I was hanging out with my family and a few cousins. I thought the service was great. I ordered the Ahi Tuna poke and a Huli Huli flatbread. I thought the flatbread was really good. It is a sweet Hawaiian style barbecue sauce based pizza and has no tomato based sauce. Everything was really fresh, including the poke, although I preferred the flatbread over the poke. The poke was good, but very simple, but it was healthy and good on the way I feel like a ponzu sauce would have elevated the dish a bit more. The drinks I ordered were a dark rum Mojito and a Guava mule as well as a margarita and a piña colada. The drinks were really good and expertly made. My favorite was the dark rum Mojito. Overall, I feel like Kukuis is a really great restaurant serving yummy island style dishes and is a great place to hang out with family or friends.

Came and sat at the bar. The bartender was friendly. Salad was great and burger was just ok. Of course the main draw is the ambiance- right on the beach, and situated next to the pool. Food and drink are expensive and no happy hour, but that's typical for the price of paradise.

Visited Kauai and actually went to Kului's several times. The food was very good, great drinks & friendly staff! Nice views as well

On the bottom floor of the Royal Sonesta. Close to the pool & beach. Very nice! Had breakfast two times. Was very good. Ordered the griddle (two eggs, choice of meat, potatoes & pancakes). Shared with my husband & it was plenty of food. Staff were very friendly.

Unless FIFA introduces a salary cap for Brie consumption, I'll be back hopefully before the next tournament. One clutch tip before you try your own championship run: reserve a table. This place stays packed harder than a World Cup final because it sits in the middle of a gorgeous Lihue plantation where you can ride trains, sample rum, and wander around pretending you're the captain of your own national squad. If your afternoon turns into a highlight reel after a couple rum tastings, sub in your phone and lock down that reservation before you're left watching from the sidelines. The Macadamia Nut Crusted Brie and grape salad deserves its own Golden Boot. The warm, crispy bread delivers perfect assists while the sweet grapes and creamy cheese play tiki-taka so beautifully they'd make defenders dizzy. Then comes the creamy portabella mushroom pasta, which doesn't need chicken, shrimp, or any superstar signing--it carries the entire squad by itself and wins the game in extra time. The staff treats every guest like they just scored the winning penalty, and if you really want the championship experience, request the patio garden. Dining out there feels less like lunch and more like lifting the World Cup trophy in paradise... minus the confetti, plus way better food. Oh BTW there bar and cocktails are to die for!!

I've been dying to try their Big Island location on past trips but never made it happen. Since they don't take reservations, I was fully expecting a long wait arriving around 12:30 PM on a Friday, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. While most people sat in the covered patio area, we opted to sit right outside with our feet in the sand, because why not?! The beach view is unbelievable, and the breeze kept us perfectly comfortable without feeling too hot. Hubs and I were both craving fish, so I ordered the fish tacos and he got the fish and chips. Everything was so good! Honestly some of the best battered fish I've had in a really long time. Add in a cocktail to kick off the vacation, and it made for the ultimate welcome lunch to Kauaʻi. Between the food and the incredible vibes, this place set the perfect tone for our weekend trip. Will definitely be back!

The virgin lava lava flow was sweet and creamy. Perfect way to end the night! The restaurant and bar definitely get crowded, but there's plenty of space inside and outside. Talk about the Aloha Spirit!…read more I'm only in town for the day until our ship leaves this afternoon. Walking through the town of Lihue I found this store and wouldn't you know it! They have exactly what I was hoping to find somewhere, Disc Golf equipment! Then I find that the store is closed today! This is a shared operation with a Barbecue business and the other half being Disc Golf. Well, it turns out that staffing issues had occurred and the only one staff member there was running the barbecue. Bummer. The Mrs ended up knocking on the closed doors and the proprietor came to see what she wanted. She explained I was hoping for some discs for my son who is an avid player, and as luck would have it, he stopped cooking long enough to help me purchase a couple of discs! Oh man that was so cool, plus he knew his stuff and helped me pick out two top quality discs. I got two drivers. One initial driver and a custom design fairway driver that they designed! At 171 for their custom disc, and 167 gr. for the other, these two will be seeing some use when we hit the mainland. While we're doing this, ah, the smell of the food started wafting over, but he was not nearly ready yet to start serving. I appreciate so much how this gentleman went out of his way to help a tourist pick out some gifts, when clearly he needed to be in the other side of the business managing his barbecue. My wife and I were staying very close by, so we made it a point to visit it during our week long stay in Kauai. The concept and beer selection was great, but the food tasted no different from what one would get from a cafeteria. It's important to check their hours when their food is offered, since it differs from their open hours. Currently food hours are 10:30 - 14:30, W-Sa (opening one hour earlier on Saturday). We came on Friday, and walked around the mall until their kitchen opened. It wasn't too busy yet, so was able to order and pay. While waiting, added two cans of alcohol, at which time the food was ready. Brought everything out to the common outdoor tables that can be used for dining. There is a large choice of local beers in cans, and we chose two: Lanikai Brewing Company's Pualani Sour Ale ($6) and Paradise Ciders (Honolulu HI)'s Lei'd Back Lilikoi ($3.50). Both were good, and would absolutely use this store to buy local beers to take back home in the future. Both of us love brisket, so got the brisket sandwich a la carte for $18.99, and added a side of cole slaw ($3) and Mac Salad ($3). It was a medium sandwich to begin with (used a hoagie type soft bun), but with so much bbq sauce mixed with the chopped brisket, it became more of a bbq sauce sandwich. The sauce itself was good, and the chopped brisked seemed OK, but the ratio was way off. The sides were OK with small portions. For $24.99, should have gotten better...even in a tourist area of Hawaii.
