Lovely spicy sticky chicken atop tender, slightly sweet ube waffles. Bliss.
    Heather R.

Thursday, 9 June 2022 Y'all know it's been TOO HOT even for Texas in June so it was easy to talk myself into letting someone else do the cooking and splurge on some cold sweet treats. Loco moco taco. Small package, big comfort food flavor, probably the most familiar presentation to me here as someone who learned about loco moco from Hawaiian folk living stateside. The longanisa sliders have enough heat to scare a midwestern Lutheran but you can add a shot of their spicy sauce if you like. I think they're lovely as is. A compact meal or a snack to share. Their new buko pandan mochi waffle? Love it! Their ice cream version of the cold dessert made me so happy and eating it on that hot waffle is just a delight. Sorry not sorry to friends with coconut texture issues like one of my BFFs, I'm just going to eat your share. And I finally got to try the famous ube Oreo banana pudding! What a lovely trio. Mostly pudding and Oreos, just a little banana layered in there and it is absolutely perfect. It is a very sweet dessert and half the tub satisfied me. I was looking to cool off as much as anything else and this treat did the trick. Should also take this opportunity to thank whoever keeps the hours and product up to date for the business on Yelp and their own site, as they were shut last week and had partial hours this week. It is so nice to know up front when a craving is unavailable and be able to reschedule, not having money disappear into the ether on orders which never arrive like horror stories I hear from other places. Thank you.

We discovered this place at a local farmers market in Buda. We recently just relocated from Hawaii and Ube is a big deal there. The two girls offered us some samples and we were hooked! It tasted just like home and knew we needed to try it all. The Ube Oreo Banana Pudding is AMAZING! The flavors just blend well together. The ube waffle was super flavorful as well! I am so happy to find this business to get my Ube fix in. I can't wait to return and try more of their items!

The ube waffle was decent didn't really get a lot of taro flavor coming through. The loco moco taco was solid and I don't think I ever saw a loco moco taco! The tortilla is also ube/taco infused and is bright purple but again didn't really get any of the flavor to come through. Super neat food truck park, I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

I love this place! Everything I ate was very unique and delicious, especially the ube oreo banana pudding!!!! The owner was super sweet with helping us ordering and updating us on our order. Waiting for them to open again because my friends and I miss it so much.

Wife & I took a little adventure to the Red Bus Food Park after running errands. Weh? is an absolute gem being run by co-owner Triz & Nova, two awesome ladies that are serving up some tasty Asian Fusion recipes inspired by Flippino, Korean, & Hawaiian influences. I got the Kickin' Chicken Rice Bowl, comes in a sweet n' spicy chili sauce fried egg garnished with bok choy. Wife got the Crispy Tofu BibimSilog bowl, with spinach, carrots, zucchini, radish, pickled cucumber, sesame seeds, & Red pepper-(Goji) sauce Both are a play on the traditional Korean dish "Bibimbap" that Triz & Nova out their own flavors on. They are just getting rocking have an entrepreneurial spirit & more creative dishes they're working on, will definitely come back again.

The food is crazy good. Authentic, creative flavors and dishes. Great service too! I had the bibimsilog with longanisa and my husband had the korean fried chicken rice bowl. Both were great portions packed with flavor! We also HAD to try the ube oreo banana pudding and it was insanely delicious!! The location is great, although their spot inside the building may be hard to find. Don't let that stop you from getting some Weh?! I hope this business thrives and lots of people get to try their food!

I first heard about this on a Facebook page and immediately got ready to head over. I was excited because I've been craving silog, bibimbap, and specifically yes Ube Coffee. So when I saw the menu, I was dying to try it. I usually don't have high expectations when it comes to Asian food in the area, but I did with this one. And wow, i loved how flavorful everything was. It wasn't just some modern fusion place. It tasted authentic and DIFFERENT. Never seen combinations like this before and I'd go back to try them all if I could. Personally, I think it's also the best ube coffee I've ever had because it had bits of ube in it as well. I hope they stay in business and get more customers. Owner is also very sweet and takes her time to explain the menu.

The owner/staff was so nice and a great atmosphere! I know WEH is relocating to Austin, but I hope their business thrives there & wish them all the best! We got an extra pudding for home when we visited.

I have always wanted to try this place and today I did! I tried the K-Chicken & Ube Waffle and it was absolutely delicious, perfect combo of sweet and spicy! I would not only go back to this place because of the yummy food, but also because of the great customer service. I can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu ! (:

IT IS BOMB! This place food and flavor is on point. I've had nothing like it. I've been to this place twice now and both times I opened my food it was just like how they presented it in the pictures. The flavors melt in your mouth and make sense even though it may not seem like it makes sense. I love both the filipino adobo and sweet & spicy chicken. I recommend everything I've tried which includes the Palabok fries, K-chicken & Rice, Chicken & Ube waffles, and Spicy Tuna Gimbap (weekly special). Don't be shy to knock on the door. I'm going to try everything on the menu at this point. Sorry I don't have more photos, couldn't help myself

Stopped by in the morning and ordered the chicken and waffles. Right off the bat the employee was very welcoming and went over the menu with me as it was my first time. His insight and explanation of the flavors and ingredients were a huge help. Definitely recommend giving it a try. Food was ready quickly and walked out to me.

This place happened to be just a few minutes from our hotel and I'm really glad we gave it a shot. First off, it's very mom-and-pop -- no frills, straight to the point, and focused on the food. I did think it was interesting that they also operate as a Chinese restaurant, but honestly, it's probably a smart move given the area. More ways to bring people in the door. The staff were incredibly friendly. It genuinely felt like being back in the Philippines. They were also super accommodating with our toddler, which always earns bonus points from me. We ordered the pansit, sizzling sisig, and sizzling chicken BBQ and all three were delicious. The pansit was savory and loaded with veggies and shrimp. The sisig was nicely peppery with just the right amount of spice. The sizzling chicken BBQ was such a great twist on the classic -- I might actually prefer it this way over skewers. It was easier to eat and came with extra sauce to drizzle over rice. Even though we were stuffed and already had to-go boxes, we couldn't skip halo-halo. It was the perfect ending -- refreshing, sweet, and exactly what we needed. If I lived here, I'd honestly be a regular. If you're looking for solid Filipino food in Austin, this is definitely a spot to check out.

Leading up to it we were pretty excited since we've seen a lot of online buzz about the place Man...we were super disappointed. I immediately knew we made the wrong choice when I ordered a "Banana Old Fashioned" and the only thing "banana" about it was a tiny banana chip that got tossed in a normal old fashioned (no joke, see pics) The prices on each of the items are also way too high for what it is. And the amount of food they give you is like ordering a side dish. You could get better bang for your buck at a food truck, and I'd argue that you can probably get better tasting food at a food truck too It's not even about the amount of food. If the quality was good, the price can be justified, but just because a waiter tells you how to dip your food in the sauces that it comes in, doesn't make it "fancy" You can tell this place loves their fish sauce, cause that's the only flavor you're going to get here Dessert was an absolute joke. Two scoops of blue bell ice cream with fruity pebbles sprinkled on top. Something that also bothered me at the end is that they pass on the credit card fees (3%) onto the customer. It'll say on the receipt. Even fast food restaurants don't do this. Waiters were very nice. Vibes were okay except for the "Valentine's Day" paper menu having a lot of food smeared on from previous diners. It was just another classic "let's charge NYC prices in Austin" type restaurant. Absolutely joke.

You can also order directly and pick it up as well to save on service fees and delivery costs. I grew up eating Filipino food and so to me this is comfort. The pancit (noodle) was tasty and had enough sweet to cut the soy. It's a combination of meats and a good pancit is always how the vegetables are cut and definitely how the cabbage is hand torn. It's also how the sauce is braised and integrated into the noodles. This definitely is more braised and so you would typically squeeze wedges of lemon to cut the flavor; iykyk that Filipinos tend to like sour and vinegar so adding lemon as an accoutrement is a must. The pancit bihon also comes with 4pcs of lumpia shanghai. The filling was delish probably one of the better lumpia's available in the Austin area (there aren't many options) but this one goes to the top though they could probably be more crispy and tightly rolled but I think I like they didn't roll them so perfect to make it more home style. I am also a fan of the little Mac salad that came with my dish. If you're familiar with the Hawaiian style it's almost the same but the Filipino one adds chicken and is slightly sweeter pineapple and sweet relish. They also have Filipino bbq, bangus (milkfish), your -log style dishes which are savory sometimes sweet proteins over rice and a fried egg. Weekends appear to have some special items. They even have kare kare (a traditional peanut curry with vegetables and oxtail) and a clear beef soup with soup bones and cabbage. Can't wait to try more of their menu. If you're missing Filipino food and you're in north central Austin this is really one of two places and if you haven't tried home style Filipino food this is a good day to try.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

All of the dishes were a little bit on the saucy side and a little bit salty but good overall.
