She took everything I was hoping to find in a new apartment and showed me all of my options. All of that, in addition to me being extremely picky (as you should be with a decision as big as where you'll be living!!) led to a stressful search before beginning to work with her. She sent me numerous listings daily, didn't push me when I decided to pass on seeing some, drove me to and from most showings and, in the end, found me a fantastic place. I went from scouring Zillow nearly all day, every day, to finally being able to relax and feel assured Alison would see and send me everything that was available. Working with her was incredibly easy and I felt like I was going through the process with a friend the entire time. She is professional, kind and extremely patient. She's super friendly, I was bugging her with text messages over the course of 3-4 days and she replied to every single one of them. She's also extremely knowledgeable- I was surprised, I'd mention any random apartment that I'd already seen in the city and she knew immediately which one I was talking about and details on the building. It's my bad for not realizing at first that brokers have access to overlapping listings, otherwise I should have gone straight to her- she clearly knew of every apartment that matched what I was looking for. One example - she was showing me around, and the lady from a midtown apartment building the Helux called her. She said her appointment was running late and she could squeeze us in if we showed up in 5 min - not an easy thing when you're 15 blocks away :) Belinda jumped on the first cab she saw, she paid for it too, and got us there. Now that's dedication. Seriously go with Belinda if you're looking for apartments :)

After arranging an appointment with him at the citi habitats' office (which btw has the nicest meeting spaces) he and his colleague John Guerrero made sure to walk me through all of my options and explain me every little detail and steps according to my specific case. John looked at my papers and explained me what was best for me and how they could help me get there (we all know how renting our own space in NY can be really difficult!) they were 100% committed to find me the right fit after we talked and right then and there gave me a list of options that were a good match, that checked all my boxes, and that was within my budget. After that, Luis took me to see the first option which was the one I wanted to stick with! They completely got my vision, proof of that was that the first apartment they showed me was THE ONE for me. They know the landlords in the best buildings and can help make your candidacy the best one, and so they did. I applied at that same moment because Luis had made sure that I went to the appointment with the things he already knew i would need if i wanted to apply after our meeting and showings. He got me prepared and so I applied after the first showing and the very next day, still in the AM he called me to give me the great news! I got the apartment, a steal that only they would know how to find and how to get me approved. Now I have my super charming studio in UES and I couldn't be happier. I would 100% recommend Luis Machuca, John Guerrero and their entire team! Make sure you look for their specific team when you go to Citi Habitats. I also talked to Jerry Torrens for another listing and I know he is in the same team because he had the same awesome vibe! He wished me all the luck and gave me tips and tricks even though I wasn't looking at his specific listing anymore. The attitude he had when he knew I was working with Luis and John is something rare, since usually they get aggressive or talk bad about their colleagues, (commissions I guess) but Jerry was the sweetest! Anyway - these three guys in Citi Habitats made my whole NY apartment hunting experience so joyful and exciting and so different to how stressful and discouraging it had been with other agents. PS. He asked me to first come into his office. Fine, whatever. I come in and he had me fill out a detailed questionnaire and asked me a bunch of questions. I told him my requirements and he pressed me to look for something in another location and get a sooner move-in date, claiming my expectations were unreasonable. I have spent enough time doing research to know what I can get. I asked him multiple times about the listing that I initially contacted him about, and he dismissed it as too small and not something I'd like. Smelled like a bait-and-switch, oldest trick in the book. Instead, he wanted to set up viewings of several places he thought would be good for me. Sure, let's see what he comes up with. We arranged to see some places the next day, and I get an email about an hour prior with an address for the first location. It's about 20 degrees that day, so I showed up a couple minutes early knowing I wouldn't want to make anyone wait for me in the cold. I emailed him and his assistant to let them know I am here, and get back a response that his assistant is running 5-10 minutes late. After 20 minutes, my extremities were freezing while my temper was boiling, so I left and let him know it's a shame he doesn't respect his clients' time. His cavalier response (see below) confirms that this man really doesn't care about his clients. It's rather amazing to me that agents have no qualms demanding 15% of your annual rent while treating their customers like they are doing us a favor. Save yourself the time and avoid Bruno and probably Citi Habitats as a whole.

Caliber had been by far the best company we worked with: they listened to our needs, helped us refining it and only showed us apartments that matched the majority of our criteria AND budget (without telling us to compromise). I was guaranteed an apartment, paid over $10,000 in first month/last month/broker fees, signed a lease, and then was pushed to the side for a higher offer (7 days before my lease was supposed to start!). Please do NOT work with these awful people. You're just a paycheck to them, not a client. If you do work with this company, do not work with Diana Romano. She did not disclose any application fees, and was unwilling to take the fees off her very large commission (for doing nothing by the way). I have never had a worse experience with a realtor than I did with Diana.
