I went here this morning for the first time. I have driven past thos place for years. I believe it was under a different name and ownership before. Anyway needless to say the curb appeal of this places just completely sucks. So I had a bad feeling about it as I walked in and sat down. The servers were so good though, they were handing us menus and waters at the same time we were sitting down. So I looked at the menu and it looks pricey. That and it doesn't look like you get much food for your buck. After ordering I was already thinking about my review and that I was gonna give this place a terrible review. Then the food came out! Omg, this place knows what they are doing! Plated look to be prepare by top notch chefs. My eggs Benedict over biscuits with sausage was outstanding! I don't know if I've ever been served something so well put together and cooked so perfectly in my life. It goes to show that you can't really do any judging until you get the food in front of you. We came here as our backup plan for breakfast on Veteran's Day morning. The French Style Omelette was delicious with the hashbrowns. I liked that it came with some fresh slices of watermelon (I ate those first). The Short Rib Chilaquiles was okay. The horseradish crema was a bit overwhelming, maybe ask for it on the side. First time catching a diner amidst what is now a trendy mid century expetience coupled with a creative and adventurous menu. And things like kombucha. I love the concept. I ordered their English muffin with tepary beans. I love tepary beans and wanted to see what they did with it. I was torn between a pomegranate drink and a local shrub. My waiter suggested the shrub and added if you don't like it we can give you the pomegranate. What I didn't understand was this. The tepary beans advertised as spicy on the menu is done like baked beans. It's sweet. And has that baked bean inspired spice. Which makes the combination with a sour shrub like pickles and ice cream. Some folks may like this. I struggled. It would have been great if I had known what spicy beans meant. I took a left turn and thought 'mexican spicy' and asked for pico de gallo. This was not one of my better ideas. The helpful suggestion is--- it would be epic if my waiter casually suggested how I could interpret the menu and what spicy meant especially since I mentioned it was my first time there. I do that because I know folks who work at a restaurant know what's best, what folks like, and can make welcome suggestions. Maybe the notion that a shrub would go well with some plates better than others didn't occur to my waiter or that I was ordering the trendy equivalent of pickles and ice cream or that pico de gallo on spicy beans signaled a bigger confusion was at play with this first time diner. I asked to speaker to the manager at the end of things. I thought my experience could be a helpful thing that know. As a former business owner customer experiences can be a good thing to understand. I saw the manager glance my way as the waiter appeared to relay my message. That's as far as things went as she never approached me. I could easily add it's a good thing to approach a first time dinner sometime after the food is delivered and check in. Most restaurants do. Especially when it's not busy. My waiter had one other table. And to make good on the, if you don't like the shrub we can swap it out for the pomegranate. At the end of my meal I had left most of the drink in the glass. I told my waiter I probably would have fared better with the pomegranate soda as I struggled with the sour of the shrub alongside the sweetness of the beans. He looked at my drink. And got a check. Most of us expect some level of comfortable customer engagement at restaurants. I see my experience reflecting some easy fixes. Though, attitude starts from the top and a disinterested manager can easily reflect downward to non chalant service. I love the concept. Though maybe a different manager can bring in the love of creative menus, clarity on customer engagement, and that welcoming feel many of us associate with diners. read more

My 18 yr daughter and I stopped in for breakfast and the food was amazing. The coffee is awesome and my cup stayed full for about 1 1/2 hours! The atmosphere was very bright and relaxing. The staff was very friendly and smiled and took great care of us. The menu selection had a variety of basic breakfast eggs and bacon to some awesome creations like the one I had called El Birote sandwich. It was amazing. Daughter had the roasted vegetables plate with hash browns. OMG that was so good, she had to share a bit it was so good. While there are only a few vegan options, they are just amazing. I loved the vegan burrito. It has perfectly cooked sweet potatoes and tempeh inside, pops or corn kernels and beans. Then it is seared or grilled for a nice crisp texture. Topped with a lovely mix of guacamole and sprouts only after it is smothered in a delicious ranchero sauce that screams"MORE" to your palate. Add to that the small side of chile de arbol purée that needs only one drop to make you sing! I also decided to try the sourdough bread with homemade jam to just a touch of sweetness m, which was very nice. Kind of a cranberry and cardamom pr cinnamon flavor. Pretty good. Coffee is STRONG AND FRESH. We were driving out of the mountains from camping, both smelling and feeling pretty wild, and both mega hungry, when we joked about the merits of "Hipster Diners." In essence, this is what I was craving, call me crazy: a beautiful old diner vibe with locally sourced produce and excellent coffee. Turns out the search phrase "Hipster Diner" on Yelp was a magic spell and brought us directly to the Welcome Diner before the line became unacceptably long. We sat in the sunny mellow back room. I drank mug after mug of perfect brew. I ordered the brioche of the day and it was served french toast style with fat dollops of coconut milk and vanilla bean whip cream. I can still taste it when I think about it, the French toast was so dense and moist, the cream so light and lovely. We also had the best waiter here who pointed us towards our next and deeply magical camping adventure in Chiricahua, and who was this close to calling in sick, grabbing his lady and hitting the trails with us. I feel bad only giving two stars because the food was excellent. I'm only giving two stars because of two reasons. We were quoted a wait time of 30 minutes but it was over an hour for a table and the food wait time was over thirty minutes. Between both waits it was a very long time for hungry trio. Our waitress was good and the decor was cute. The other reason I am scoring the diner so low was the mistaken order. My mom ordered the bumblebee with no mustard. When our food was brought out the runner even said "bumblebee with no mustard." Unfortunately, the sandwich did have mustard. The waitress returned the plate to the kitchen and it was quickly "fixed." I understand that the kitchen is busy and wants to fix their mistake quickly but just scraping off the condiment is not the right solution. Thankfully my mom is not allergic to mustard and just doesn't like the taste because she could have had a reaction. There was still mustard on her plate and a residual amount on the chicken. Other than the mustard it was a great biscuit sandwich. If you're willing to wait an hour and half, the chorizo biscuits and gravy are very good. I am kind of confused as to why this place has so many great reviews; it's very misleading when looking up this place. I decided to try this place out because of all of the rave reviews, but I just feel disappointed and misled. The restaurant looks great on the outside and when you go in it looks like you stepped back in time, however, that's as far as the nostalgia goes. Everything is overpriced, and all the workers have a hipster look, and the food is all strange non-traditional items that you would not expect from a diner looking place and it all comes across as trying too hard to be a place you would expect to see in Portland Oregon. With all that being said, I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone because it is not an inclusive environment and it is not what you would expect from the great exterior and interior which is unfortunate. I just wanted to add that after writing this review, I looked more into their Yelp page and found a lot of the hidden reviews of this place are one star reviews which is interesting. read more

When you've just come from the excitement of your first night of a weeklong camping trip, and you're hungry for both breakfast and for more adventure, this is pretty much the perfect stop. First, let's talk about the nifty decor. It's all kinds of mid-century modern, hearkening back to the good ol' days of the diner, but with enough Ikeaspiration to make it a little heavier on the modern. That's their whole feel, and they pull it off without being gimmicky. It's their aesthetic, but not their schtick. The building is absolutely gorgeous. I wish I knew more about he history of the place, but it's one of the most unique designs I've seen in a while. Worth it just to add a pic to their Yelp listing with your own POV. I really loved the menu. It's not overdone. It's not too precious. But it has a special take on the diner classics. It was a late Saturday morning, so brunch was the order of the day and it's what we needed. They're all about the farm-to-table and locally sourced, but again, this is 2017 and that's no longer a restaurant concept, so much as it is just the right way to do business. I needed savory, so the Andouille Scramble was the right call. It was just the right savory--herby from the sausage, well-seasoned eggs, and the bread had an incredible chew that really helped you leverage the eggs to the fork, and even serve as an edible platform for a bite of everything at once. Take heed, though: they do a mean sweet as well. I saw some french toast that was thick, topped with all the right creamy and sugary things, that would knock your eyeballs back in your skull. I need to give a special shoutout to our server who recommended we go to Chiricahua to camp. We did indeed follow his recommendation (though weather and time had us at the traditional west side, and not the east as he suggested) and when we invited him along, I could see the flash of "what if I say yes" in his eyes. That being said, that is pretty much all I could really taste with each bite! Yes if you like biscuits, really like biscuits and only want to taste biscuits, order the Benedict. I wish the biscuits were thinner or there was a whole lot more pork belly. Better yet, for $13 why can't we have it all, a combination of both. Yes the biscuit was too big. The coffee was good! Confession - I love Welcome Diner and Welcome Chicken + Donuts up in Phoenix, so...when I found myself looking for lunch in Tucson, and remembered that Welcome Diner had taken over an old diner in the downtown-ish area, I laid in a course for it! First off, this isn't your original Welcome Diner - there are more than 8 seats inside! (which would've been handy when we went to the original and it started raining...but that's in another review ;-)) That said, we got there about 10 'til 1:00 on a Weds afternoon, and got the last parking place, and ended up with 2 of the last 4 seats at the counter. Talking to the bartender/counter server (who was great, btw), we found out that they open for brunch on the weekends at 9:00, and that it's packed by 9:15 - same with lunch rush - so, get there early! As I mentioned, the place was packed - but the service was friendly and timely, and we got our lunch in about 10 minutes. Everything was hot and fresh. (I even got a refill of coffee before lunch got there!) Coffee...while I was enjoying my cup, I thought, "Wow...this is really good coffee. I looked up and spotted a sign indicating they serve Presta coffee - my favorite small batch local roaster, located a few miles north of this Welcome Diner). To quote my esteemed friends Bill and Ted, "Excellent!" So, I'd gotten the Bumblebee last time in Phoenix, so decided to try it's big brother, the Big Jim this time. These are both fried chicken biscuit sandwiches...as good as the Bumblebee was, the Big Jim is twice as good! Bacon...cheese...white gravy...mmmmmmmmm. My friend got the No Way Jose burger (which had been a winner for two of our party in Phoenix) - he really enjoyed it. So, cool retro diner location, friendly service, excellent food, Presta Coffee - you won't go wrong at Welcome Diner! Huge fan of this quaint and kitschy diner vibe! Sipped on a Hurricane cocktail and a Red Snow (a delicious Sangria concoction) both of which were strong, but not overly spirit forward. Our server David is a gem - welcoming and helpful, but not hovering Desserts - my friends and I went bananas and ordered 3 desserts! The Chess pie is mouth watering and I will return just for another slice. The apple pie à la mode was cinnamon-y and made with bourbon, and the meringue was a unique treat. I was very disappointed. I talked to a friend today and their experience was disappointing also. I was craving a good bagel and lox which seems to be hard to find in Tucson. I saw theirs wasn't authentic since they replace cream cheese with ricotta and bagel with sour dough bread but decided to give it a try anyway. One thin piece of sour dough cut in half with stuff on top. I asked the waitress to hold the radishes but they didn't so I had to pick them off. It wasn't bursting with flavor like lox, onions and capers should be. The portion was very small for $14. I actually drove through another place afterwards to fill my hunger. Terribly disappointed! I have heard good things about this restaurant and have been wanting to try it for some time. Last week my husband and I finally made the time to stop in for breakfast and will not be going back. Upon first walking in we were excited, because the smell was heavenly. We were sat fairly promptly and started perusing the menu. The first thing that caught my attention was the Biscuit Eggs Benedict. I am a connoisseur of eggs benedict and was thrilled to try yet another local bene-breakfast. Unfortunately this one was utterly un-egg-ceptional. The dish came with various topping choices, tomato and avocado, jackfruit, bacon or andouille sausage. I opted for bacon as my passion for eggs Benedict is rather traditional. On first cut the eggs looked like they were cooked pretty well. The yolks smoothly oozed when I sunk my knife in and mixed with the hollandaise to coat my biscuit and bacon. Unfortunately the taste was nothing like what I had anticipated. The hollandaise sauce was completely bland. There was no rich, buttery, eggy, tang like the delicious sauces I'm used to. The eggs were also bland, and surprisingly stringy having an unpleasant saggy skin-like texture. The bacon wasn't anything I would write home about, however it did add some desperately needed salt to the dish. Sadly there was only one strip bent in half, so it didn't provide much help. The biscuit all of this sat atop was hard on the outside and ended up being so dry the hollandaise sauce and egg yolks completely disappeared within, and it was still dry. The already bland flavors were further lost by the biscuit. As a side I chose hash browns. Hash browns are one of my favorite additions to any breakfast, and these I didn't even want to finish. They came in somewhat of a square patty, the top layer being so over-cooked I had to peel it off the rest of the potatoes so as not to gag on the burnt potato flavor. The rest of the potatoes had a mushy under-cooked consistency while still being full of grease and yet completely without flavor. I added a bit of ketchup to bolster the flavor, but to my dismay what came out of the Heinz bottle was definitely not Heinz to my disappointment. The ketchup was, like the rest of the meal, bland with a mellow tomato flavor, not like the bold flavor of Heinz. Neither salt or ketchup was able to save these hash browns. The establishment itself was cute and clean, thankfully. The wait staff, however, was lackluster. Not bad, but not overly friendly and we were only checked on once during our meal. We eventually had to flag down one man, he looked like a manager, to get our ticket after sitting with our napkins on our plates for at least 10 minutes. Thankfully this man was friendly, responsive and helpful. Another downside of our meal was that we smelled dirty dishwater throughout our time there. I'm not sure if it was coming from our table being cleaned with dirty water, or a sink of dirty dishes was nearby, but it was unappetizing and distracting. I chose three stars, because nothing about our meal was terrible, just very disappointing, especially the prices. I am absolutely not opposed to paying for good quality, tasty food, but $14 for a breakfast that was barely palatable is not something I will choose to do twice. read more

I am thrilled to write this review, because Welcome Diner is simply wonderful. From super cool digs to a tremendous staff to inventive cocktails to the outrageously great food, this restaurant is one of the best in Tucson. It is that good! I started with a cocktail that could scare some people - Death in the Afternoon - a champagne cocktail with absinthe. Yes, that absinthe. It was a surprise, and I liked it. A lot. I didn't die. My husband had the Paloma - a tasty mix of a salted bottled grapefruit juice and tequila. Yummy. I had the Big Jim - a delicious fried chicken sandwich with bacon and sausage gravy on a homemade biscuit. Accompanied by a fresh green salad, the meal was huge and satisfying. My husband had a crazier dish - the PBB. This is a 6 oz burger topped with crunch peanut butter, bacon, and bread and butter pickles. I swear that someone had to be drunk when the dish was invented, but it's flipping good! I mean really, really good! It just works. Don't knock it until you try it. Desert was a slice of coconut cream pie. The crust is coconut macaroon, and the custard was definitely housemade. Seriously good. The other great thing about Welcome Diner is that it uses local products. Produce, meats, breads, wine, and beer from local sources. That's a wonderful philosophy, and it gives the names of those sources. So, please, give Welcome Diner a try, and venture into the wild side of crazy but great food pairings. read more

I love the look and feel of this place. It just makes me happy. When I saw it while we were visiting I knew we just had to go. We ended up going for diner. I wish they stuck to true diner form and served breakfast all day. But here you'll find different menus and a bit more hipster refined style to match the 60's decor. They have a pretty good selection of beer and some good mixology cocktails. From recommendation of the guy who came up with the cocktails, we went with the Benni Lava. Cool drink, pretty sweet from the lime and a cool color. As a girl who hardly goes for cocktails, ever. I like it. Of course, diner, I had to go with the Welcome burger and was not disappointing. I actually could have probably ate more :) I finished off the kid's side of mac-n-cheese. Also, for dessert go with the Pecan Pie and take a cookie to go. This place has great food and my server literally name Tree was awesome. Sadly, I was seated by the girl named Edi pictured here and she was quite rude and unaccommodating. When I entered the restaurant she asked what I wanted. When I told her that I'd like to be seated so I could eat, she marched me right past several open booths and all the way to the back of the restaurant. When I asked about the open booths towards the front, she kinda huffed, grabbed my menu and moved me up to one of the other booths. I usually wouldn't make a big deal outta race but, seeing as how I was the only black person in there other than the cook for the hour and a half I sat there, it would seem I struck a nerve with her by asking not to be seated in the back.... read more

This place immediately reminded me The Grill that used to be on Congress, downtown. Anyway, I loved that they kept the old Chaffins exterior and made subtle changes to the interior. To begin, the exterior is nicely landscaped and they even have an L-shaped wood bench, under the palm tree near the front door. Upon walking in you see sky blue booths and bar stools, unique candles and an alcoholic bar (see pics for details). The walls are white with a few simple framed pictures including the 2 hilariously odd ones outside of the restrooms. You can see the kitchen that it's situated behind the bar seating. The service: Our service was great. There were 2 people that waited on a row of booths & from my observations there was never anyone waiting. The food: Their menu is unique in that it offers breakfast and lunch, non-alcoholic, alcoholic (beer, wine and liquor/cocktails). I describe the food as slightly Cajun inspired. My dad & I ordered a Welcome Breakfast (2 eggs, hashbrowns & a delucious homemade biscuit). I added two thick pieces of bacon and my dad added andouille. Andouille is a cajun inspired smoked sausage with a slight kick to it but nothing too overpowering. Needless to say, our meals were great. Water was serviced in a mason jar & was ice cold. Bizarre experience on my third visit to this restaurant. We had 6 people in our group and we were told they couldn't accommodate us due to "reservations", but after telling a different person we could wait because we weren't in a hurry, she said it was a 30 minute wait. As a large group left a round corner table, we were expecting to be seated there, but no, we were directed to the back room to a table that had been open the entire time we had been waiting. When inquiring why we couldn't be seated at the round table, we were given a weird excuse that the server for that table was inexperienced and we would get better service in the back room. It was inexplicable that they made us wait for a table that had been open the whole time we were there and also refused to let us sit at the nicer table. The food was also a let down. I had enjoyed a chicken biscuit sandwich on a previous visit, but this time it was tough and overcooked and others were also unimpressed. When searching for recent reviews of the restaurant I found that they had failed a health inspection in Sept 2018 supposedly due to "changing management". This diner has a really cool 50's look with a roomy counter and plenty of booths set up along the windows. I like the feel of old school diner but I really love that there's a full bar and they're open until 2am. The menu is eclectic and inventive with interesting plates like shrimp and grits and good old fashioned juicy grass fed burgers where the meat is two inches thick and it takes time to arrive because you know it's being prepared with thought. The owner and staff are very accommodating and they make a point of being selective of how they represent their establishment. My favorite dish was the Pulled Pork Fries. I recommend the burger. The only thing that I can say was a negative was the back room was quite loud but I did like the fact that there's a large roll up door and I'm hoping to see some outdoor dining in the future. read more

I'm breaking my rule about reviewing a place after just one visit. After good buzz during Welcome Diner's soft opening I sweet talked my husband and Mark A into waiting outside to be there opening day at 5. I didn't know much about the Phoenix locations, but with three of us eating we got three starters and three entrees last night and finished with dessert. The perk of the experience was meeting Corey, Wayne and Michael who are managers and Michael the head chef; all three answered a barrage of questions from three hard core foodies. To start Corey said the grits was the thing to try; so we ordered Pima Grits, mac n cheese ( with andouline) and boudin chile relleno starter.All three were winners! The egg battered chile relleno came with red tepary beans; which turned out way more delicious that I could have guessed. The rotation between our server and chatting with all the managers made for a cool experience. I ordered a hurricane and later a sazerac and both were wonderful. Round one: grits toped with sunny egg, roasted okra n green chili compote topping. Next round was our meals which between the three of us was double fried chicken, wood smoked trout and creole jambalaya. Again all three were really very memorable and pure. The chicken was bone- in and tempura battered with buttery mashed potatoes, and biscuit n neck gravy. I just had a bite of each element but each was rich and hearty as a southern dish should be. The creole jambalaya was my husbands and it isn't made traditionally but grilled on the flat top, so there are crispy bits in the dish which was savory bursts to the dish; came with toast which we didn't eat. Lastly I ordered the trout which is a river trout , wood smoked with garlic and creosote infused; finished with a salsa verde. I loved my dish, which was served with a grilled Indian flat bread which was good but after starters I had no room for. I would absolutely order this again, it was fresh and bright fish without the garlic or lime overpowering the fish. The salsa verde which dressed with dish really complemented the trout. Round two: each one of us like our own dish best. Lastly we were stuffed but did try a dessert of beignets. Basically they were three round doughnuts served with orange blossom honey(?) and powdered sugar; cakey without being greasy. So served like a sopapilla but more a cake doughnut then my preference of a Cafe de Monde airy beignet. There were two other desserts I'll want to try next time; red tepiary tart and their lemon chess pie. The restroom situation; were two stalls in the ladies room and per Mark A two stalls ( no urinal) in the men's room nor a handicap stall. I forgot to check if the ladies restroom had a changing diaper station but I thought the ladies had a larger handicap stall. Overall Welcome Diner was awesome; all the starters and entrees were a hit. Can't wait to try their other items. The interior was a bright blue, white and aqua colors with a retro feel, the exterior with fun neon accents. The entire dining experience absolutely made me feel WELCOME in every way. read more

Clearly, people that only have written 1 review in their lifetime or barely a few don't know what they are talking about. If you can't write a proper review that's more than a couple sentences, don't bother posting, you're not worth the 5 second read. That said. This place is FANTASTIC! I'm not a clam fan and they were so good I licked the bowl clean. Highly recommend the "steamed clams in lemongrass broth". You just might order a second helping. Dip the hand fired bread in the broth, it's a must. The clams paired nicely with the "sleepy little river town" cocktail, delicious drinks all around and a great selection for all you picky drinkers. I also recommend the "Del Bac Date" or "Guero Abuelo" for you hardcore drinkers and "The Cup" for you fu fu drinkers. "Grilled romaine and corn salad" it's like a succulent steak but with a chunk of fresh romaine love. "Pima Grits" from romona farms, milled right when the restaurant orders what they need for the week, grits are not my thing but paired with green chili and okra made them grab that flavor I was looking for. "Cured Sardines & toast" High quality imported sardines, fresh radish and radish greens with local goat Brie cheese to combine delicious bites that will get those tastebuds wanting more, nough said. "Boudin Chili Relleno" traditional batter pork liver, pork shoulder and rice topped with hot pimento cheese sauce on a bed of tepary beans served with ranchero sauce. So yummy "Pan Seared Steak" cooked with perfection, juicy, melts in your mouth, loved it. "Vegetable Cassoulet" house smoked pumpkin in this dish. a veggie dish delight you dream of. Full of flavor you can't stop eating it. "Bone in Pork Chop" a bit fatty, could be trimmed a little better. But when you get to the meat love, it's super tasty and we liked the fat even though it was a little much. It's yummy pork butter nonetheless. From the constructive criticism we gave the head chef, he says they get it farmed raised and need to butcher it themselves. "Mashed potatoes with spine gravy" I can't believe how good the gravy is, paired with the mashed potatoes from heaven above. Great menu items! Definitely expanded upon the Phoenix Welcome Diner that evolved into one of the best spots in downtown Phoenix! I love the atmosphere here at this place in Tucson, they did a great job remodeling and making it there own. Great job on the vibe and all the love they put into the food. all the people that work here are prompt and very happy to be here, nice and friendly with the comfort of telling them how you feel about the food even if it's negative. They make it right and absorb all the criticism they can get. They like it when your vocal and honest about it. Everyone wants you to leave this place happy and wanting to come back. Yes the place is a bit pricey, but worth every penny I dropped on it. Yes the food could come out a little slower then normal but it's a super busy place and that says a lot, worth the wait imo. This place is definitely an improvement on the old outdated diner that used to be here. It has a modern/sophisticated diner look, everything bright and clean instead of outdated and worn down. Super busy and yet my food arrived in a timely fashion, the waitress and one of the managers had time to make friendly small talk with me. The meal was way better than I expected. I got their specialty cocktail: the cup, always summer and it was delicious. Spicy ginger and sweet liquor. I had mac n cheese with the andouille sausage, it was good but the sausage flavor was a little bit lost. Then I finished with Koko, a chicken biscuit sandwich. It was amazing!! The biscuit was the best I ever had with a faint butter taste, warm and soft but with density. The chicken was fried but not greasy or dry. I love welcome diner! They have great comfort food but it doesn't make you feel ill after. I recommend the chicken and biscuits and also the broccolini! My wife had the jambalaya and it was really tasty as well. They first make the jambalaya then sear it on a pan so the outside is a little crunchy. They give you a lot of biscuit with the chicken, enough for leftovers. I highly recommend welcome diner. read more

It was late Friday night (around 10pm) when my friends and I drove by this place. "Was there always a diner there? Why is it so cute?" We questioned ourselves as we decided to check it out. We were quickly given a booth. Nice blue smooth seats. Clean tables. Water poured into sparkling glass. Our waitress, attentive. With the 60s ambience and feel, we were already impressed. Menu pulled out. HOLY SHIT. 6 dollars for a macaroni and cheese with no topping? Ugh whatever, this place better be good. The four of us ordered the Mac and cheese, the basic burgers with fries, the jambalaya, and jackfruit sandwich. Turns out, my friends said the Mac and cheese and the burger was good. According to them the Mac and cheese was one of the best she's had and it's worth the 6 dollars. The burger was better than shake shack's and fries were pretty tasty. Would they be returning? Yes. My orders however was not that great. The jambalaya wasn't the soupy version that I was used to. Came out kinda burnt but I think that's the style that they went for. Too salty. No Cajun flavoring. Lacked flavoring actually except the salt. Way to salty. The jackfruit sandwich was just... Sour. Kinda like a pickle sandwich but a bit sweeter. Overall. Service is a 4-4.5 Prices-3. Kinda too expensive for the quantity and quality was just Eh. Food. That's debatable. With the two good foods and two bad food, I'd average it to a 3. This place has really really good food, but the atmosphere is akin to my grandma's house. It's comfortable, but within reason. My friends and I got weird vibes from the staff. Half of the time they wouldn't acknowledge us and my friend who was sitting criss-crossed got told to uncross her legs because her shoes would make the seats too dirty. It was all understandable, but just made for a weird mood. Aside from that, we enjoyed the specialty cocktails and fried chicken, but it's a little overpriced compared to the portion size, and sides don't come with your dish. read more

I truly wanted to love this place! The service was ok, we were seated quickly and they were polite. The atmosphere was trendy. I liked that there were many local offerings. My husband and I had a late breakfast and we both ordered egg's Benedict. Something with the sauce did not sit right with us. It did not have flavor like a lemon that you would expect.
