This is my family's go to restaurant, servers are super nice. The food is good in the environment in general is amazing.

When we first moved to Hudson Welly's was very enjoyable to go to. However, now that they are busier and the prices are higher the quality is falling. Last time we went in for drinks and a couple apps and I was just over it. With cold food, and really not so good drinks. I would rather pass on welly's. read more

Just here in Welly's for a beer and some laptop time. It's like sitting in a Starbucks, but for grown-ups. Good service from a waitress who wanted to get me a roll or a basket of bread or really, anything. Nope, just the beer. Tuesday night is their veal parm special. I was sooooo tempted! Phenomenal! My family of five are driving from Lubeck, Maine back home to Charlottesville, Virginia. We booked a hotel while you're on the road and then I looked for a good restaurant or at least something decent. What an amazing find we feel so fortunate. Not only for my husband and eyes dishes most delightful but our children who ordered off of the children's menu also got phenomenal food. My nine-year-old devoured every bite of his chicken tenders. The breading was really very good. Not thick and delightfully crisp. My daughter got a individual calzone and it came out so large she took video footage! Have never had a bad meal at Welly's. It feels like our go-to spot for a quick lunch or a nice date night with drinks, appetizer and dinner. Definitely try to make a reservation especially for a larger group or on a Friday/Saturday night or be willing to wait quite a while. We've been several times and are always welcomed at the host stand, and have a great service from all of the employees. The drinks are always top notch and I love the variety, especially the seasonal drink menu which gives a lot of variety. We really like the nachos or the crispy Korean cauliflower for an appetizer and I will typically order a salad for my meal. Usually having a salad at a restaurant makes me feel sad, but the salads at Welly's are top notch! They are very large, great flavors and nice unique toppings and have great salad dressing options too. I've also gotten the pizza and a calzone, both were amazing and enough for at least two meals. First visit to this neighborhood joint - good first impression...friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, cozy vibe on a cold winter night. The fish and chips were good, and I'd return for another serving. The French Onion soup was a little disappointing. It wasn't bad, but it was savory with caraway pumpernickel bread and rosemary (I think). I prefer my onions in this type of soup to be sweet and caramelized, with a slightly creamy broth with sherry or cognac. This broth was more reminiscent of beef au jus...would have been great for a French Dip sandwich, but was a little blah for soup. read more

I get food from Welly's often both for myself for lunch and for company lunches. Just had a staff lunch order and they always do a great job. I'd even forgot something in my online order, and called and they got it changed up and taken care of. Welly's is definitely a go to restaurant for consistently great food and great staff. I really like the food here. The margarita calzone is the best calzone I've had. The pizza is pretty good. I've also had the Ruben with sweet potato fries which was very solid. My 3 year old likes fish but doesn't want it battered. They said no problem they can do the kids meal fish as a grilled fish. That was really nice. My 3 year old really enjoyed her food too. On a rainy afternoon on our way to Maine we chose to bypass a number of chains in favor of this restaurant. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Wednesday afternoon, but we soon had menus in hand. I had noticed a few trophies for best clam chowder on display in the entry way so my wife and I both ordered bowls of New England chowdah that proved to be creamy, but largely devoid of any clam flavor. In retrospect, I derived a modicum of comfort knowing we now have experienced Marlborough's finest. A rating of 2.5 stars would be on target. read more

We visited Wellys on a Saturday night. I ordered the surf & turf with spinach and side salad for an extra $2.00. I ordered the steak rare - it was cooked to perfection. The baked stuffed shrimp was a disaster. It was medium size shrimp cooked in a very distasteful breading that was very dry. The salad came the same time as the entree. Never been here before, we loved it! I had the maple mustard breaded pork chops. Delicious! Two large pork chops made for two meals with leftovers, really good mashed potatoes and corn. Hubby had the pastrami sandwich. He really enjoyed it. Fries were not hot. We started with the calamari, the crust on these were crispy and well seasoned but the calamari were a little rubbery. The sauce served these was simply perfect. We still gave 5 stars because we enjoyed everything else. Our server was so pleasant. They were having a baby shower so food ca,pre out a little slow but we were not in a rush and it was worth the wait. Good cocktail too. read more

I ordered gluten free and then recieved just 6 shrimp and some broccoli. I called and they accused me of lying about the menu despite my screen shots. I paid $18 for 6 shrimp. This place was charming. Great ambiance! I had the clam chowder. It was good, but I found it a bit bland. I'm from California so maybe it's supposed to be non seasoned? My little boy had the chicken fingers kid's meal and it was a generous size with the best fries I've ever tasted. The fries more than made up for the chowder tasting so plain. They were very stingy on the ketchup though. They brought a small plastic cup of ketchup then when we asked for more, they brought a tiny little paper thimble with some more. Do people in Massachusetts not eat ketchup? The restroom was clean and well stocked. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant. read more

THE BEST RESTAURANT IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD!! Food size is always large and not expensive!! My boyfriend and I love this restaurant. The fish tacos seem to be missing half the fish. There were 3 small pieces of fish in total which took up about half of each taco. Also they were delivered cool, they must have been sitting on the counter waiting for other meals to complete. read more

We were excited to try this place due to my wife's coworker's recommendation. Unfortunately, it wasn't that great. Steak tips and mashed had a funny taste , not sure what . Fish and chips was ok , nothing to write home about . Eggplant/ chicken Parmesan way too salty and eggplant very bitter . I had Julie's chicken which was good . The waitress was very nice and the manager was also nice since he comped eggplant and gave us a gift card . Very cute and cozy pub spot. Perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. Great All American food like burgers, salads, and sandwiches. They have combo options where you can do a soup, salad and half a sandwich. Got a great cob salad that was a very generous portion size and fresh ingredients. I've been to Welly's a few times and each time, the food has been incredible! Most recently I had the veal/eggplant parm combo, which was delicious. Both the veal and eggplant were so tender! It was a little pricey, but the portions were massive and I had plenty to take home for leftovers, so I'd say it was worth it. They also have strong, reasonably priced drinks. Giving them four stars instead of five because it can be packed depending on when you go. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but because it's such a small space, the seating can be cramped and it can be hard to hear. I'd also recommend either making a reservation or going during a quieter time - last time I went on a Sunday night, and there was about a half hour wait to get in. The service is quick once you do get in, though. read more

I saw their CHICKEN PARM on a local foodie show. I've been dreaming about it ever since. I can't make it in a Tuesday night when it's on special for only $6!! I tried it tonight and even at full price, it was well worth it. By far, a game changer for me. I may never eat it anywhere else again because it will never measure up to how delicious Welly's makes it. I saved the second piece and half the pasta for lunch tomorrow and I can't stop thinking about eating it NOW!! The service was professional and everyone was welcoming and friendly. I'm sad to write this update! My husband and I frequent Welly's a lot. Most of the male servers recognize us as regulars. I love love love their Chicken Madeira so we decided to go last night for some yummy Welly's! Service has always been hit or miss, but now there has been two occurrences where the female manager (I didn't catch her name) has been unprofessional and unhelpful. A few weeks ago she gave us attitude for asking for blue cheese. We thought about complaining but figured we'd let it go, maybe she was having a rough day. Last night I ordered the Madeira and the chicken was significantly less than usual. I brought it to my server's attention, and then the same female manager came by explaining that "it's the same amount they probably just pounded it too much." I said I come here a lot and I can show her pictures of what it's looked like in the past, but she said no that's ok, that's just how it is. I said I don't agree, but I guess I have to. She did give us 1/2 off just the Madeira in the end, but the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I am hesitant to return again, and I'm going to call the manager to let them know today. So sad because I always say this is my favorite place in Marlborough and always recommend it to my friends and family! I haven't even left yet. But I am thoroughly pleased with our dinner choice. First there is a huge hockey party here and they were like we won't sit you next to them if you don't want to but we have a kid and we're like no worries. Paul was attentive and kind. He had great suggestions for us. We had the Chicken Carbonara and the Nachos with Chilli. And OMFG it was so good. The chicken was so tender and delightful the Nachos were phenomenal. You'd be surprised how many places mess up nachos, but these guys made them just right. Crispy chips, cheesey, delicious and with fresh tomatoes to boot. My husband and I had to stop ourselves from finishing them. There was no more room in our bellies, but our taste buds demanded more. First of all, I have been to Welly's many times at both locations. Usually, we have a very enjoyable experience. This time however, left a lot to be desired. They were out of many things I asked for. Not a big deal but kind of a bummer. We got two appetizers, the potato skins and the chicken bites, both were very good. However, they cleared the appetizers as soon as the rest of the food came and my kids weren't done. I was at the bathroom or I would have stopped it. Our meals were awful! My kids got Caesar salad with steak tips. The steak tips was undercooked and tough to cut. My husband got the stuffed haddock. He ate it but I asked for a bite and it was so grossly seasoned I had to spit it out. I got the Shepard's pie which is always a safe bet. Not here! It was drowning in demi glaze, which was ice cold. It was awful!! I had two bites and couldn't eat it. One positive - the service level was better than most times I'd been there. Needless to say, we will be taking a Welly's hiatus. read more
