i am totally biased; -- it must be said -- wendell's serves Killians Red on tap . . . that being said, 3.5 wings are just flat-out THE BOMB. Much hotter wings are available, but i have found that the overall taste and enjoyment of said taste gets lost after 3.5s. it's just heat after that point. Great wings. I've been coming here for over 15 years so I figured it was time to leave a review. The wings and fries are the best around just be prepared to wait 45 minutes for your meal after ordering. Service can be a little spotty but it's worth it. My only real complaint would be the lack of a decent beer selection, which is funny considering there's a local craft brewery, Bog Iron, right next door. read more

Love this place! Been coming here since they opened in the 1980s. By far the best chicken wings and we've been everywhere.

The service here is terrible. I think that I could breed a chicken, let it grow, kill it and cook wings faster than the food came out. (I know it gets busy but come on, it's a dive known for wings). It took a half hour for French fries and over an hour for wings. On top of that, everything costs extra even when the food is overpriced to begin with. I have been going to Wendell's for years now once I found them. I make a drive of 40 mins just to get their wings. Most places around me only make wing dings covered in buff sauce and I just don't get it so I feel the need to make a trip to Wendell's whenever I can. I love this place. I have been going for a LONG time. They have the best wings you can get. 3.5's and extra spicys have so much flavor. Amazing bleu cheese, dip your fries in it and wipe the bowl clean with your fries. I had the suicidals last fri and a batch of extra spicy. The suicidals were HOT. The worse place I have eaten in a long time. The waitress was poorly dressed with holes in her shirt, and no personality. The soup was look warm, the wings were so greasy they were dripping all over and the cheese on the cheeseburger was hard and cold. The atmosphere was zero. My husband and I went here on a Friday night & decided to sit in the bar area....we sat at a table that was dirty & had empty glasses & beer bottles on it. We were not greeted for at least 7 to 10 minutes until the bartender called us from behind the bar asking if we needed anything. We told him we wanted drinks & food assuming he would come over & clear the dirty glassed & wipe our dirty table....but that did not happen. He asked us another 5 minutes later if we "were all set". I said no, we wanted to order food and he said you have to order it at the bar. And I told him our table was dirty & asked him if there was no service here? And he said no you have to order up here. So my husband and I re-located to the dining area which had two waitresses walking around. We sat for yet another 5 to 10 minutes until someone came over to us and asked if we wanted drinks. We gave her our drink order & she immediately turned around & walked away..I called to her that we also wanted food & had our order ready & she ignored me & continued to walk way. We received only 1 fork, and our second wine drink order was a completely different wine. I cannot begin to tell you that we finally realized that this place was probably racist as my husband is lets say "non white" and the treatment we were receiving & mistakes was just beyond the common error. To top it off, when we finally asked for our check, the waitress delivered & told us they do not accept credit cards & pointed us to an ATM. My husband and I were disgusted at this point looking over the bill realizing we paid 7.25 a glass for a cheap glass of wine and 5.25 a bottle for an average microbrew. I mean I am not eating at the park place hotel here..I am at a divvy crap bar in Norton. Why am I paying this much money for drinks and this kind of service? This place sucks. Save your hard earned money & go somewhere nice where you are respected & appreciated. The place looks like a VFW hall inside with a fake leather couch wall paper It is hideous and unwelcoming. Small, admittedly slow service (says so on the menu, so you can't complain, haha) but the wings are great. good chicken and I've never tasted wings like this. The Norton town drunk must have dubbed you king of wings after a night of feeling particularly sassy, however most likely even couldn't get him to fork over $16 for a pitcher of Bud Light. I'm curious which quail farm y'all sourced these wings from because you can fit 12 of em into a cereal bowl. There is a disclaimer on the front of the menu that reads they have 2 fryers, one grill, one cook but they forgot to put they also had zero f**ks. The wait was bad and our waitress was not friendly, we ordered a side order of fries but the table was out of ketchup AND steak sauce because it got that desperate. The fries were GOOD! Only saving grace here.. If you wanted the hottest wing sauce you need to pay $3.50 extra to cover Wendell's expenses to buy peppers at Stop & Shop. If you want ranch or blue cheese with your wingettes that'll run you $1.50 extra as well. This is cash only here but there is an ATM you can donate fees too since it looks like everyone's getting a piece here. Feeling unsatisfied with my portion I placed another order for wings since I'll go broke but I qont go hungry. Well Wendell must have been distracted by some pickles back there because, 20 minutes later I cancelled my order and requested the bill. Wendell's has some great wings. I have tried them all. One thing that aggravates me is that I feel everyone I see and talk to that goes there hates the service. Takes forever and staffs have a bad attitude. The other thing I have came to find out is you get all wings because you pay extra for all drumsticks. I am lucky to get one in the batch. Every year prices go up and quantity is less. Can you believe they also charge extra for a to go container, a tomato slice, a slice of lettuce, and anything else that goes on a burger? Unbelievable! Went expecting great wings! The place is nothing fancy and we knew that. we waited to see what was up. Nobody said a word until I asked a waitress "can we sit anywhere?" The wings arrived way overcooked. Dry as a popcorn fart! Suddenly my wife's chair broke and she hit the floor!!! Waitress asked if she was OK, embarrassed she said "I'm Fine!" The manager didn't come out and apologize, nobody checked on her. The check arrived and pitcher of beer was $21!!! Ok, I've come here a few times before and been happy with my meal. But after today I will NOT be returning. We arrived around 1, and were not greeted by anyone for another 20 minutes. We put our order in (two drinks and two orders of wings) and got our drinks, but we didn't not receive our food for about another 45/50 minutes (the service was ridiculously slow). Our waitress never checked on us to let us know how long the wait would be or to see if we needed more to drink. We actually had to flag her down. And somehow everyone else in the restaurant was served before us, even though a majority of people came in after us! Once the food came out we were so hungry that we devoured them. I was so excited for my wings, but very quickly let down as there was practically no meat on them at all. We basically ate just sauce and fried chicken skin. I'm not sure what happened, or how the waitress completely missed us every time she came into the room, but I will definitely not be coming back here. read more

Terrible. Overrated. Went because a friend suggested it and all the hype online. We had no idea how to order the wings because the terminology is weird. Finally we got it right, and the waitress didn't seem to understand that wings weren't my husband's meal. Is it weird to assume the wings come first??? So, 45 minutes later, two of our sandwiches came. In the waitress proclaimed sorry, the chef messed up one of the steak sandwiches so those two are coming in a bit. And I was like, when do the Wings come ? after the meal? (Full of sarcasm) l chuckle chuckle. And she tongue twisted her words and she wasn't quite sure how to answer me she was like oh I was so confused I thought maybe your husband ordered them as a meal. Then she goes on to tell me that the Wings are Made fresh to order. Okay. They still should have been made first. And then she says they aren't Frozen. Okay still they should have come before the meal. The wings were terribly skimpy, over fried and dry. The wing sauce wasn't zesty and had no flavor. Our steak sandwiches were average-at-best... Wendell's Pub in Norton, Ma. used to be steller.....They sadly have had problems with the new staff. The wing orders are smaller. The famous Wendell's buger is now a sad representation of what it once was....Tonights version of the wings was dissapointing as was the burger. Dave W. the owner really needs to step back into the picture and save his reputation! I used to frequent Wendell's pub every week...as my "special" treat but sadly since christmas 2007 I have seen the quality of the food I once loved slip ever and ever lower.
