I first tried WCS at their Chino location a few times in the past. Their sour dough and clam chowder are the best in this area. A bit of a delay on the review. Anyhow, I was super happy to hear they opened a location in Ontario earlier this year, literally a mile from my home. The first few dine-in visits, the sandwiches and the clam chowder were amazing and delicious. My go-to sandwich is always the Italian. As of late, I have been ordering my food online for pick-up and have been disappointed in the quality of the sandwich. The taste and price are the same and fine, but it's the preparation of the sandwich. I'm not sure what's going on, but it feels like pick-up orders get the back end of the bread and just not prepared nicely. The sourdough is always hard as a rock and it comes drenched in sauces and the sandwich falls apart when I open it. Not only that, the sandwich is cold, when normally when I dine-in, the sandwich is toasted. This is a completely different experience whenever I dine-in. As of late, I order pick up when I'm about 15 minutes away from home coming from work. More often than not, it's not ready, which is fine, I can wait, but when I get my sandwich and open it at home, I come across the issues previously mentioned. The sandwiches and sides are quite pricey compared to any other sandwich chain; however, the portion sizes are pretty large and they give you a good amount of meat. So I would say that the price verses quality and quantity even out. Service is good, the workers are very friendly. The place is very clean, plenty of tables and parking. I would easily give this place a 4 star if it wasn't for the lack of quality/preparation of the sandwich for pick-up online orders. read more

The service- she took our order rushed through so we couldn't even leave a tip because she cleared it and handed receipt. I think having to pay for pickles, jalapenos, as extra is ridiculous for a sandwich. Your prices are already high. Barely any meat in the sandwiches. I definitely prefer Togos. The soda was flat. It's clean instead to sit and eat so that's a plus. But if I'm going to pay prices like this I'll stick to the old deli and other places because you can't say I'm paying this price for sourdough bread. I had the cranberry turkey sandwich and it was good. There was a good amount of meat on it and the bread was fresh. My partner had the cracked pepper turkey and barely got any turkey on the sandwich. They put too much mustard on it and it was not enjoyable to him. We also got a cup of clam chowder and it was very thin and runny however, the flavor was there. It was our first time at West Coast Sourdough, they asked if we had any questions or would like any recommendations, they also mentioned its their soft opening and the Grand Opening is scheduled for Thursday March 5th. We also noticed they'll be serving Peet's Coffee at this location which I'm excited about. We ordered the Clam Chowder, the BYO Flatbread with Ranch Dressing, Pesto Sauce and Mozzarella cheese and the Chicken Cesar Salad. The bowl of Clam Chowder was served with two slices of sourdough bread which was slightly toasted and warm. The BYO Flatbread and Chicken Cesar Salad was tasty. Will definitely be back! My sandwich was so delicious I am super picky about my tuna and I really enjoyed this. I got the combo and added the Mac and cheese which I really enjoyed. My son got the chicken pesto flatbread it was a little light on the pesto but overall good. The salad he got was massive so glad we only ordered the small. The best part was the service. The girl at the front taking our order was super knowledgeable and very helpful. They were very nice and chatty and never let us feel rushed. The food was good. It came out quickly. Tasty but expensive. I do love me some clam chowder sourdough bread bowls though! It's a bummer they don't sell sliced loafs for sandwiches or with ingredients like jalapeño cheese, rosemary or garlic. But they do sell a French baguette style sourdough similar to the ones they serve as sandwiches if you like that. The chicken pesto was yummy, but too small in my opinion for the price. read more

Was craving a fresh sandwich and came across WCS. Recently opened and conveniently located. Came in during lunch time and it wasn't too busy. For the price I would expect way more meat, maybe lowering the price $1.50-$2.00 would be justified. Pleasantly surprised at how good this place ended up being! My husband and I have been wanting to stop by for a while and finally got around to it today with our two littles. We tried a few items from the menu. Clam chowder bread bowl, Mac and cheese, combination flatbread pizza, and the garlic turkey pesto sandwich. Everything was absolutely delicious. The bread is so fresh. The clam chowder was good but could've been better, I felt like it was lacking a little flavor, but overall good. The Mac and cheese was some of the best we've tried for a deli style restaurant. The sandwich was top notch, my kids destroyed it! Pricing is very fair. The 8 inch sandwich was around $15. Jersey mikes charges way more for lesser quality than what you get here. The meat was just the right amount for me personally, I don't like an overstuffed sandwich where the meat is just oozing out. On our way out we grabbed the horchata cold brew. It didn't do it for us as coffee lovers. We had a few sips and couldn't really finish it, it was too milky and lacking flavor. Could be better. This sandwich shop is such a nice addition to the little shopping center it's in. The shop is your standard eatery, it's open seating with plenty of tables and chairs. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in to when we left. The girl at the register was very kind and helpful. We tried the French dip and the garlic pesto turkey. The bread is to die for, I was surprised how good it is. Soft on the inside with a crunchy outside, and a mild but delicious flavor. None of the ingredients overwhelmed the other, everything was evenly layered and you could taste all flavors. The turkey pesto was especially good. First time trying this place! Fast-casual restaurant. Heard an employee tell a costumer they've been open for a few weeks, which got me more excited. I ordered a 4' Garlic Pesto Turkey and the cranberry turkey. Also added their soup of the day which was broccoli cheddar. Workers were very friendly and brought our order to the table. Also, quick! Bread had a wonderful crunch on the outside and softness on the inside, turkey was fresh and tasted AMAZING! Both subs I got were a perfect combination of sweetness (cranberry) and savory. I had a great experience at West Coast Sourdough in Ontario. Vic, the General Manager, was phenomenal and made the visit feel welcoming from the start. Ashlie, the cashier, was also amazing. I'm pretty indecisive and she was friendly, patient, and helpful while taking my order, which made the whole experience even better. The food was amazing, fresh, and flavorful. The portions are solid too. I can eat a lot and the 6 inch sandwich was filling. They have plenty of options depending on what you're in the mood for. I saw this business being remodeled and outfitted and finally open in last couple of months. I finally made a visit with my wife in the afternoon. It is very nice inside, and the staff very friendly and professional. They helped us decide on our order to go, and finally made our choices (so many!). We tried the tomato soup and we had chose a six inch and eight inch sandwich. When we got home, we were pleasantly surprise as how delicious the soup and sandwiches were. My husband and I have been wanting to try this deli ever since it opened. Today we decided to go in and eat. My husband had a peppered turkey sandwich. He enjoyed it. To me it lacked enough meat but the flavor was good. I got their lobster mac and cheese bowl. They knocked this one out of the park. The mac and cheese is delicious. The bread bowl was amazing. Daisy was the young lady that pleasantly greeted us and gave some good recommendations on what to order each time we had visited . She took our order at the counter and she actually delivered it to our table. The food is a little pricy but I'm a sucker for a good sandwich and sourdough soup bowls. We have tried the claim chowder, tomato bisque and the chicken poblano all were very good. The Mac n cheese is delicious. So I went here for the first time about two weeks ago and it was fantastic. Had a BLT with their house mayo and extra bacon. The bread was perfect and everything was fresh. Because it was so good, I decided to go again on March 5th. I went and ordered the exact same thing: 6-inch BLT with house mayo and extra bacon. Sadly the sandwich sucked. As you can see in my photos, the main problem was that they didn't even seem to cook the bacon. It was basically raw. And I don't mess around with undercooked pork. Everything else, the bread, lettuce and tomato was fine. But bacon was horrible because it was not cooked. And the fact that I paid just over $17 for this sandwich and a bag of chips makes this all hurt even more. I'm willing to give them another chance though but this was a big miss and they almost lost a customer over it. read more

This was my first time at this location. Walked in and it was full in there. Almost every table was taken, not one person had food in front of them. Should have been my first red flag. I ordered ahead of the app and showed up at the tail end of my pick up time. I got a text that my order was ready for pick up. When I arrived I told them I received the text. They told me it wasn't ready and they "accidentally " cleaned it on their end. Told me they were just bagging everything up. I waiting 15-20 and had to ask again for my order. There were two other women waiting for their food before I had even gotten there. They were visibly upset. One woman had to have her order remade twice because it wasn't right! Every single person in there looked so irritated for the long wait. To top it off, the workers started to argue with each other about orders being messed up!! I just went there & ordered a sourdough bowl with tomato bisque. For $11.99. When the clerk rang it up he overcharged me! $12.99 +1.14 tax. I asked him why he overcharged me & he said"Several $$ are wrong & we told corporate & they don't fix it. " Being an honest person & have worked in retail for 38 yrs. I called him on it! He didn't even change the price or offer me something. I told him they were in a lot of trouble because I was going to give them a bad review & that they would get into a lot of trouble!! This location in Chino has been open for a while . How many people have they ripped off?? Also what about their other locations as well?? When the clerk told me several $$ were wrong. I said you will see this isn't over! I proceeded to walk out. I have pictures of their prices. My Receipt! Not a way to do business in this economy the way $$ are these days. This new location is a good spot!! Lots of parking, easy to get to and it's down the street from the new baseball stadium! Their sandwiches are the bomb and I can't forget the clam chowder, so good!!
