Sue, Mark, Steve are beautiful, wonderful people. They made the last hours with our baby boy as respectful as possible. We requested an individual cremation, called and brought him in same morning. Mark let us stay in the condolence room until he was ready for our boy. Mark gave us the special tray and said it was okay for us to wrap our boy in our shirts. We received the ashes the same day. Guardians service was amazing. I spoke with Cody and he really made this hard process easy. He even threw in an engraving of my kitty's dates for free. And even though their location is in Sun Valley, they come to Monrovia twice a week I think it was, which was perfect as my vet was also in Monrovia. They were able to pick up my baby boy the next day and I was able to pick him up from the vets office that same week. Their service was so fast with no hassle! Their cedar box is absolutely beautiful and my kitty's ashes were wrapped in a deep purple velvet bag. I couldn't have asked for anything better. On a side note, I hadn't received the dates engraving but with a quick call, Cody apologized and sent one right out to me. To my surprise I got it the next day! All staff was very patient and caring. They took care of our needs however we did encounter a few small problems. We called in to add pet prints. I called twice to ensure it would get done and was assured it would. When we came by to pick up our pet, the prints were not done. The staff was apologetic however this didnt change the fact that this was missed. Aside from this we appreciate their services. read more

I've had two beloved dogs pass away and both have been brought to Guardian Animal. During my most recent visit, I was happy to have such a wonderful experience despite the difficult time. Gabriel was extremely helpful and made the experience a beautiful one. I was able to say goodbye to my pitt mix Jobo one last time with Guardian Animal's help. This time around, they quickly washed Jobo and laid him on a table with blankets and a flower so my family and I could say our goodbyes. It was beautiful and heartbreaking seeing him at rest, but I was so grateful that Guardian Animal was able to give me those last few moments with my beloved 14-year-old. The first time I went to Guardian Animal, I didn't have the above experience, but it was a positive one nonetheless, with the staff always being so understanding. They lost my cat's paw prints and took two months to respond when I informed them that I hadn't received the prints. When I did get through to them they did not apologize or express the slightest concern that it had happened. They sent me a check for $30 as though that makes up for their lack of sincerity and responsibility. I wouldn't be writing this review had they apologized or bothered to respond to the email I sent last week expressing my sadness and disappointment in their services. There are other options for pet cremation. Ask your vet to not send your beloved fur-baby to Guardian. read more

Seeing a love animal gone is truly heartbreaking. As an RVT I had to put down many animals. Ive been with them when they take their final breaths. Last night, my own dog of 14 yrs took his last in my arms. This place is where they go after my part is done. This place has a big beautiful dog mural, clean, big and spacious. Loosing my doggie is one of the hardest things I've had to do my adorable chihuahua was with me for 16 years and when she left she took a part of me with her ..... when my Kiki passed I had already looked into her after care just to be prepared I followed my instinct with all the positive comments on this place when I arrived there was someone to take my doggie right away they asked if I wanted extra time with her after I was done in the office I didn't know how to say good bye so I agreed ... when they brought her back to me for my final farewell she was on a bed so comfy with roses my boyfriend and I where able to give her love in privacy it felt so good and they where so compassionate...... anyone who losses their beloved pet should definitely go here you can tell they really care and I can't say enough of how satisfied we are and how they made us feel comfortable and my boo boo too here are a few pics we ended up purchasing the Heart urn And a paw necklace with her ashes !!!!! I had called several places for an estimate and Guardian Animal Aftercare was the only place to tell me sorry for my loss. They were so respectful and so kind. I had called multiple times for different questions that came up and the lady on the phone was so sweet and patient with me. She understood the situation I was in and they waited for me to drop off my pet 15 minutes after closing. I was able to see the back and it was very clean and organized. My beloved cat got sent here by VCA. The person calling was incredibly compassionate. It has to be tough talking to sad people all day. We had to make a few phone calls . They handled absolutely everything with grace. No time was wasted there, and the pricing is relatively affordable. I got a paw print and a box. They are far away so I had them ship me the remains. My husband and I had 4 cats and our beautiful husky, Lexi pass in a house fire just over a month ago. The firemen directed us here and we were treated with so much compassion and care. We had soot from the fire all over us and we raced there with all of our pets in complete sorrow and devastation. They not only washed our faces but comforted us. I do a lot of animal rescue and fostering over past 17 years- as well as kitten bottle babies and also picking up animals in the street. With this journey comes a lot of loss. When I discovered Guardian Aftercare I knew I had found THE best way for my heart and soul to deal with the process. I cremate as I plan to be cremated and buried with ALL my pets and rescues and even street animals who had been killed and I had cremated. Sometimes I have had time to say good bye and I will come drop off the body- and the staff is so respectful. They put the body with your flower or blanket whatever you bring so that is your lasting mental image. If you have had time to say good bye and you don't need more Time that is one path. If you do need more time they will put the pet in a quiet room that is beautifully decorated for you to pray cry meditate what ever you need-- The place is immaculate and well organized. Nobody rushes you if you end up crying while you are making the paper work or feel compelled to share your story. They are all patient and experienced looking into the eyes of people who are sad with their loss. If you want to take the body of your passed away pet to Guardian Aftercare you will have as positive an experience as you can considering the sad journey. But you see where your animal goes and is very calm and clean. You can only hope human beings cremation places are conducted with the Same respect. My beloved Prince passed away November 3, 2017 and I chose to have him cremated at Guardian Animal Aftercare after coming across all the positive reviews on yelp, giving them a visit and being greeted by a friendly, playful, gorgeous pooch belonging to the owner of this facility. His dog raises your spirit by such a warm, friendly, playful greeting...instantly brings you a toy. The staff are very caring and handled my pet with care. The facility was very clean, the employees are very professional, the wake room was indoors and very private. The staff gives you as much time as you need to say goodbye to your beloved pet. The tray in which your pet is placed in is beautifully decorated with flowers. They offer a lot of different options for urn, you are able to pick one out from the catalogue should you not like the options they have at the facility. This was the second time we have had to use Guardian and they really have such care and respect for what you are going through. Cody is extremely nice over the phone and when taking your pet in. Parking in the back and having them come out to meet you makes it a little easier. There's a privacy to it waiting in your car with your pet and having them come take them inside. Our senior dog passed away about 5 years ago and her paw print they made was so nicely done. Less than a year later our senior cat passed and we had taken her to the vet. They recommended another company and we went with they picked up from our vet and it seemed easier. I regret that. They never called to tell us when he was ready for pickup, slapped a messy paw print on an ugly orange ceramic disc, off center, messy, no name and he was in a cheap wooden box. Couldn't believe it compared to what Guardian had given us. So when our other senior cat passed away this week we went to Guardian and everything was just as nice as before. Her box is beautiful, the engraving is beautiful, and her tiny paw print was taken with such care, along with the little hearts and her name imprinted. It really makes a difference. I was in so much emotional pain after the loss of my beloved Puddin'. Guardian Animal After Care could not have been more understanding, supportive and kind of my grieving process. My initial telephone call to understand their process and general prices (I have forgotten his name and if I remember I will post, he certainly deserves the recognition) I knew my Puddin' would be safe and well taken care of. Although posting this is very bitter sweet, I knew I had to give this place the review it deserves. My dog passed away from cancer almost a couple weeks ago. We knew his time was coming to an end but thought we'd have a few more days to arrange for him to be euthanized. When he suddenly passed on his own we weren't ready but knew we wanted him cremated. Immediately I started looking for places and the reviews for Guardian Animal Aftercare caught my attention. I made a call and within a couple hours, we were dropping him off. The staff member who came out to get him (who's name I wish I would've gotten) was so sweet and understanding. She gave us all the time we needed to say our last goodbyes and even got teary eyed when I told her how special he was to us. When she asked if I had any last questions I mentioned that I didn't live near by and because my dog lived with my parents (and that's where his ashes would also be going) we'd love to have him back that same weekend if possible, before I went back home. Without a doubt she said she'd try her best and sure enough our boy was back home within 48 hours. Random things I had read online and words from people around me led me to believe that my baby's remains would typically come to me in a ZipLock baggie inside a cheap cardboard box. Instead I got her back in a very beautiful and dignified cedar box with nameplate, and I couldn't be more grateful for the care and attention to detail that Guardian puts into their work. I'm also very pleased with the ceramic disc with her little paw print, both which giving her a continued presence in my home, where she belongs with her daddy. On March 31st we had to put our horse of 20 years down, as difficult a decision this was we knew what we had to do. We also knew that we wanted her cremated. I contacted a few other cremation facilities - none of which made me feel as comfortable as Guardian. They were understanding of the situation and very accommodating. They took our mare in and she was cremated with in 24 hours of intake. Her mane, forelock and tail were washed and braided - her shoes all removed and cleaned up. I lost my best friend, companion, rock, my everything, my human in a dog suit My cousin in Sunland recommended Guardian Aninal Aftercare to me. Their website was different from any others I had seen so I called. Helen was the most amazing angel ever! Her attention to detail, her compassion, patience, care, love, warmth, peaceful and calm nature were so comforting. It was almost like speaking with a chaplain or pastor and the amount of time she took on the phone with me was so generous. Ten days ago I had to put my dog of 16 years to sleep cause she had brain tumor and she was in so much pain. The hardest thing I've ever done. This place is amazing. My vet at VCA West LA arranged everything with them. Two days later a very nice lady I think her name was Lorin called me to inform me about the process, she also told me that they received my dog's body so she offered if I want to see her one last time. I did want to see my fur baby one last time so a day before Thanksgiving I went there. I sat in the waiting room and they brought my baby girl. She was laying down so peacefully on the bed with flowers around her. I couldn't help myself but crying like a little kid. Lorin was so amazing she stayed there for a while and talked to me and calmed me down. Poor lady she ended up crying so much. They were so nice and they gave me time to spend with my dog. I stayed for almost two hours there next to my dog. When I left this place I was at peace knowing they're going to take care of my baby and give her the respect she deserved. A few days later she called me to inform me that her ashes is ready. They've done a great job. So much more than I expected. They also gave me her paw print and fur which is absolutely beautiful. When one is grieving the loss of a beloved pet, Guardian Animal Aftercare is a well of compassion, professionalism, and support. They did everything possible to ease the process, and far exceeded my expectations. I had suffered the loss of my Australian Cattle Dog, Shadow. He had bone cancer, and it was time to ease his suffering and help him over the Rainbow Bridge. He was such a special dog that losing him was very difficult. He was my Rin Tin Tin, Hachiko, and Lassie. He saved my son's life from a pack of attacking dogs, holding all 5 of them off. He was my constant companion, delighted at whatever we were doing. Whether it was accompanying me on a trail ride with my horse, working on the ranch, lying at my feet while I worked, agility, and even a few weeks of sheep herding just for fun, he was happy. He was so smart, that he figured out I didn't mind if the coyotes came on the ranch at night, to hunt rodents, but they were forbidden there during the day or when we were outside. He had the local coyote pack trained to know exactly where our property's border was. It was as if they'd signed a treaty. If he encountered a coyote pup off the property, he would good naturedly say hello, but if if it entered our land during the day, he would ferociously run it off. The coyotes learned where our border was, and would lie down to rest from the mad dash ten feet across the other side, while Shadow would jauntily trot back to me. There was never any fighting because the wildlife learned the rules. I never lost a single chicken to coyotes. The hens would flock around my dog if they were startled, some of them even climbing onto his back. He used to lie down on the ground so our little Chiweenies could reach him to play. If any stranger came over, he would bark like Kujo until and unless I told him to leave it. Then he would immediately relax and accept being pet. I could tell him, "Watch me" and then point wherever I wanted him to go. I could have him stay while calling for the Chiweenies to come. He was always trailing me, from the moment we met, hence his name Shadow. When my asthma bothered me, he'd comfort me and help me relax. It was literally impossible for him to run away or even roam too far away from me. His entire focus was to determine what I wanted, and then doing that. He was incredibly devoted to me. I keenly felt the loss of this amazing dog, and didn't handle it well, at all. One would think that I would have been prepared, due to his illness, but apparently not. Therefore I was in a very vulnerable state when I contacted Guardian. They came highly recommended by a friend of mine who hauls horses. Cody was remarkably compassionate, professional, and had infinite patience. There was no judgement for my being a total mess. I got a call within 24 hours from a grief counselor (because it was totally obvious that I needed one.) I was worried about the stories one hears about cremation, so Cody explained the process to me in detail. Each animal is tagged with a code to track them throughout the process. The pets cannot get mixed up. The cremation options are communal, where you don't get the ashes back, individual, or private. The crematorium has retorts that are separated by brick walls. In the individual option, pets are cremated in their own retort, several of which are going at once. The ashes you get back are your pets', and only your pets'. Cody even explained how they clean the machine that homogenizes the cremains to ensure there is no cross contamination. In a private cremation, only one cremation chamber is turned on, and the family can watch the process, if desired. Or, they can see their pet off, and then wait in a comfortable room for the ashes without viewing the cremation itself. You can get a clay cast of their paw, and ink nose and paw prints, which can be made into jewelry. Although his explanation made intellectual sense to me, I still felt worried that there might be some mixup before the pets are tagged. Guardian kindly delayed the cremation until I could come see Shadow. Cody had him all wrapped up in a blanket, with a pretty bouquet of flowers between his paws. It gave me peace of mind, and closure. Throughout the process, Cody was compassionate and patient. He answered all of my questions, and there was no pressure at all. As the point of contact for Guardian, he is a professional asset to the company. You can rest assured that both you and your pet will be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
