As a customer of this bagel shop for over twenty-five years, I can honestly say that the bagels here are delicious, fresh and tasty. They offer numerous options for fans of bagels like myself. The whole wheat bagels with no cream cheese are my favorite of them all. Shop employees are very friendly, hard working and ready to assist the minute a customer walks through the front or side doors. Tip: if you don't want too much cream cheese on your bagels, MAKE SURE to request easy cream cheese otherwise they will go super heavy on the cream cheese. Definitely a good option if you are the area.

I used to love this store, bagels are great, the service, and especially the guy with red hair he was the best. It always felt consistent and reliable. But lately everything has changed. Every time I go in now, it's a completely new group of people. It feels like they're only hiring teenagers who clearly haven't been trained. My order has been wrong every single visit, and on top of that, I've been overcharged three different times. One morning, I walked in and there was literally a small fire happening in the back. There were about five teenagers standing around not knowing what to do. That should've been my sign, to never come back. But today was the last straw. All I ordered was a simple toasted bagel with cream cheese, and somehow that was still wrong. The "hot coffee" is never hot , just warm . I'm really disappointed because this used to be one of my favorite spots, but the inconsistency and lack of proper training has completely changed the experience. I hope MANAGEMENT steps in soon, because it's gone downhill fast.

I love western bagel. They are always consistent no matter which location I go to. The bagels are always fresh and their lox spread is perfect ratio of cream cheese and lox pieces. I always get it open face. They are always generous with the amount of spread they put on. The turkey sandwich is also delicious. The ingredients are fresh and they put a generous portion of all the condiments and turkey.

$2.05 for a toasted buttered bagel: $1.25 for the bagel, .30 for the butter, and an additional 50 cents for...what? A buttering fee?

I just ate a burned bagel at Western Bagel. I should've turned around and walked right out when I came into the store. The smell of burnt bagels hit me in the face the moment I walked in. I hadn't been to this place in a couple of years because they never seemed to be able to do anything right. They had a tendency to burn their food. They got orders wrong. I decided to give them another chance today after a couple of years off. Once again, my onion bagel was totally burnt. I thought about taking it back in, but I figured it was futile because they would only just burn it again. My egg à la bagel sandwich didn't have the cheese melted at all. At least the person who took my order was nice. One star for service with a smile. Another star for the fact that she went and checked to make sure that she did have pumpernickel and onion bagels because they were not out on display. It's too bad that this place just can't seem to get it right. It's not a good advertisement when you smell burnt bagels the second you walk in. I will try them again in another two years and see if anything has changed.

I ordered a dozen bagels And a large tub of whipped cream cheese with Postmates. It was a way for me to thank my team at work ! When you purchase a dozen bagels, they give you a 13th for free : I had the chance to try the whole wheat one, and the everything bagels seeds one, they were so fresh and so moist, I enjoyed it tremendously! Whipped cream cheese is very tasty and light ! I highly recommend that place for bagels

Not sure why this place only has 3/5 stars. I've gotta say it was a top 3 bagel of my life. Everything cheese bagel with extra jalapeño cream cheese. So. Damn. Good. The bagel is SO soft and they put the right amount of cream cheese. Also had a bialy egg bagel with scallion cream cheese that hit the spot as well. For me it was the first one that did it. I could have eaten 5 of those in on sitting. Absolutely will be back and stoked to find a no frills normal priced bagel

I've been coming here since I was a kid! I love how festive this location gets with every holiday season. Service is always so great and I've never experienced them messing up my order. There aren't too many bagel shops in the SFV, but Western is always great in a pinch if you are looking to bring bagels to the office, or cater an event. I think their lox, produce and cream cheeses are solid. Their breakfast sandwiches are quick and hit the spot. They also have a selection of pastries and cookies available that you can take to-go as well. For some reason, my absolute favorite thing at Western Bagel is their hazelnut coffee. I could drink 25 cups of it in one sitting. It's always hot, has great flavor and free refills! This particular location has lots of great indoor and outdoor seating. Parking lot in the back makes it really easy to come and go. While Western is not my FAVORITE bagel in LA, it still hits the spot when I need to scratch the bagel itch.

These days, that the price of an entree. We shared our appetizers: my friend had the individual portion of the uptown mac and cheese and I had the grilled mushroom. The mac and cheese is to die for! So creamy and very rich, with aged cheddar and gruyere cheeses, pieces of chicken, peas, and asparagus sprinkled throughout. A definite diet buster, but worth it! The grilled mushroom was no slouch either. Consisting of oyster and king trumpet mushrooms, the dish had a nice "meaty" taste, ironic since it's a vegetarian dish that is cooked in a plant based butter. You don't miss the lack of meat at all. For entrees, my friend got the poke bowl, which I did not tasted so can't attest to it, but my friend said it was good. I had the spicy pasta, which was amazing. The campanelle pasta was cooked perfectly, holding the savory, slightly spicy corn-based cream sauce in all its luscious folds. Along with roasted poblano peppers, sautéed mushrooms, marinated artichokes, and tomatoes, the ingredients all worked so well together to make a truly yummy dish. We also shared our desserts: My friend got a scoop of the vanilla fleu de sal ice cream while I opted for a scoop of the dark chocolate. Both were good, but I liked the dark chocolate as it had actual pieces of dark chocolate. Our server Kayla was amazing. So friendly and on it! She constantly checked in on us, and made sure our drink glasses were never empty. Today is just the first day of dineLA, so plenty of more opportunities to go back and try some of the other options offered!

Walked in today at exactly 2:20pm and there was no one to greet me at the counter/register. Waited for like almost 10 minutes, still no one. I had to ask one of the customers if anyone is working here? She said yes, he is in the back. With that being said, I went to look for that he. Harley still didn't come out for another 5 minutes. When he did, he just stood there with a serious look on his face until I started to ask him a few things about their menu. Everything here is vegan. The bakery section was practically empty, except maybe 5 pastries in it. The shop was very nicely decorated with plants, decor here and there. You can also purchase plants for your house. (indoor plants). It was very cute, moderate size and quaint. I ordered from their Coffee/Latte menu. They also had a separate menu for Matcha drinks. Got myself a Iced Blue Lavender Latte with Oat milk free of charge. ($8.00), it was interestingly tasty and very refreshing. Then I ordered their Breakfast Burrito that came with: sautéed mushrooms, pickled onions, avocado, tater tots, and egg. ($17.00). Total was $54. and some change. Since I was very hungry, got myself their Avocado Tartine that came with: avocado, tomatoes, pickled onions, capers, and a tiny scoop of garlic mayo. The garlic mayo itself is 5 stars. It was that good. Great portions, prices were expensive, the coffee shop itself had a good vibe with great music playing overhead, they had a gender neutral restroom and only street, valet, and metered parking. They also have some outdoor seating. Last, but not least, I also got a Croissant that was stuffed with great amount of Matcha. I haven't had something like that before. ($8.75). I asked for a receipt, and Harley said he can email it to me, but I said I needed a printed copy, and he refused to give it to me. I may or may not return. Food was very fresh, delicious, hot, and came out pretty quickly. That's all for now.

DO NOT ORDER FOOD HERE…read more I ordered a cheese and tomato jaffle (toasted sandwich) to-go today from the Studio City location. As an Aussie, I expected a toasted sandwich from an Aussie cafe, but I was deeply dissatisfied with my order. Honestly, it felt like a joke. Especially since it took like 15 minutes for them to "make" my jaffle. While other people who had ordered after me were receiving their drinks and food, I was still waiting. Not sure what happened there. Okay, so I leave and open my to-go box: The bread was not toasted. The cheese was not melted. The tomato was only on one side. It also had a ton of mayo and was inedible. Had to throw it out. I've attached photos. I contacted Bluestone, and they responded with "sorry that our food didn't meet your expectations." Once you see the photos, you'll know why that feels like such an insult. Anyway, telling all my friends: AVOID AVOID AVOID. Total let down. Won't be returning.
