This review is for the iconic Idaho Ice Cream Potato. When my best friend and I were in town, we knew we wanted to do something potato related. The moment we learned there was a special ice cream for this, we knew we had to try it. Westside Drive In has the best retro feeling to it. As the name suggests, you can literally drive up and order to eat. Or you can park and eat at one of their tables outside. It seems like Guy Fieri has been here and loves it. We just came to try the ice cream potato. The person at the front was quick and kind. She asked if I wanted it to go or dine-in. I asked to eat it there and was given the "potato" on a plate. This ice cream sundae is disguised to look like a potato, no actual potato is involved. It's vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate powder, topped with whipped cream and peanuts on a bed of chocolate sauce. It was so much fun and a great summer treat.

Date night with my honey bun just got very Idaho. We swung through the Westside Drive-In and ordered the famous Idaho Potato... but plot twist--it's dessert! "Potato" = vanilla ice cream "Skin" = powdered cocoa "Butter" = chocolate mousse "Pepper" = crushed Oreos If you didn't know better, you'd totally think it was a baked potato! 10/10 would order again.

This classic, retro spot delivers a highly unique novelty experience with a massive menu. While the main food items are fairly standard, the incredibly creative dessert and the nostalgic drive-in atmosphere make it a fun, memorable stop. Finger Steak Basket (3/5): A very generous portion that comes packed with battered, deep-fried strips of steak, tater tots (gems), and a slice of garlic bread. The finger steaks are served with a traditional cocktail sauce, which is an interesting pairing for beef that didn't quite hit the mark for me personally. They tasted much better when dipped in fry sauce instead, which also pairs perfectly with the crispy gems. The garlic bread is a nice addition to round out the basket, though it lacks a strong buttery or garlicky flavor profile. The Idaho Ice Cream Potato (5/5): An incredibly creative dessert that's worth the $7 price tag for the fun novelty alone. It looks exactly like a real baked potato, but is actually a generous portion of vanilla ice cream coated in cocoa powder, and topped with chocolate syrup, peanuts, and crushed Oreo cookies, though you can ask to omit any toppings you don't want. Logistics Tip: The restaurant is highly flexible, offering two drive-through lanes for quick to-go orders alongside plenty of traditional parking spots if you want to dine on-site at their outdoor seating. Restrooms are available and are located directly behind the main building.

This was a fun stop for an outer towner like me! We stopped for the famous ice cream "potato " but found ourselves trying finger steaks with fry sauce too. They both were very interesting. The finger steaks were tender pieces of beef dipped in tempura and fried. The "potato " was a fun scoop of vanilla ice cream covered in cinnamon. We enjoyed both. The ladies behind the counter were fast and courteous. This is either a drive thru or outdoor seating spot (dress appropriately).

I was out of town brewery hopping and got a little hungry. I was looking for a place that is unique to the Boise area and a young woman I was chatting at a brewery suggested this place. She mentioned this thing called finger steaks. I had never heard of it. I was curious enough to give it a try. It's kind of a drive-through diner sort of place with interesting things on the menu. Of course, I had to try the finger steaks, which actually were delicious. I had them with cocktail sauce, but there are other sauces available. I also had a bologna sandwich. Probably haven't had that in 50 years... and never in a restaurant... they were both really good! This place has a really fun vibe to it. I definitely would come back if I'm in the area again.

    Beef Stroganoff

I dont come here super often because of the prices but the serving sizes are worth it. Tonight (8/27/26) it was not worth it. I got the beef stroganoff which typically is packed full in the to go containers. When i got it tonight it looked like it was half eaten. It still tasted fine but i payed 17 dollars for a half serving.

Came as part of 11,500 mile road trip through Boise. Had to stop for the Idaho potato ice cream which is a fun way to highlight the city. Friendly staff. Ice cream was a bit basic but the toppings and shape made it fun. Also got the Monte cristo which leaned a bit too sweet for the concept but glad I tried it

We went to check it out at the green acres and we're charged 19 bucks for the burger and if you look at some of their advertising pictures, the burgers look pretty big. But when we actually got it, it wasn't that much food. My partner and I finished it within a matter of a few bites. Overall, the flavor was decent, but I think the claim about them being the number one burger in the area is definitely overhyped. The patties were much smaller and they give you a small bag of chips to go with it. Although the burger was decent, I feel like the quality and the price point did not meet the value of it. It is at the Greenacres location so if you get to have a burger there you can enjoy the music that's in the area or choose from other options. Because we weren't too satisfied from the volume of the food we ended up having to get food from another food truck. Wouldn't be my first pick out of all the options there.

They are most definitely a top contender for the "best burgers" title in town. After hearing folks who'd found this place proclaim its greatness, I had to give it a go. Glad I did! Think fairly traditional burger fixings on 1/3 pound burgers done well. I've tried the cheeseburger and the feta and jalapeno burger. Both were tasty and cooked perfectly. They're the type of burgers that are simple, but that's a good thing. I'm a bit picky about my burgers and am sensitive to fries cooked in old oil. I'm happy to say these meals don't leave my gut regretting my life choices. Each burger comes with lettuce, pickle, red onion and tomato. They don't slather condiments on; you'll have to ask for those you like specifically. They also come with a side of thick-cut fries with light seasoning and fry sauce. I mean, this is Idaho. Gotta have the fry sauce. All of this clocks in at between 8-12 buckos. Their hours are a little wonky, so check before heading out. It's a food truck and they have limited outside table space. From what I gather this is primarily a dinner joint with most hours of operation between 3-10 pm. Pity, because having this as a lunch option would be dandy. Pop in here if you're on Overland and give these burgers a go. It's already becoming a regular stop for us!
