Terrible service. Bbq bacon burger tasted terrible I literally had to take everything off it to try and salvage any taste to include relish, who puts relish on a bbq bacon burger then the 5 lbs of shredded lettuce had to take that off as well and to try and save the taste and not cause a scene I just put ketchup packets on it in which the ketchup tasted terrible. Basically a horrible "fast food restaurant" disguised as a diner. Not to mention the entitled girl who worked the front when I asked to grab me something told me to go inside and get it myself. read more

I was excited to see they had one of my favorite sandwiches on their expansive menu, the Monte Cristo. I ordered one right up with my hopes held high. What was delivered to me fairly quickly and happily by the friendly staff did indeed look pretty good, if only a bit overcooked. Dusted with confectioner's sugar and served with some jam. The taste, however was horrible. The batter tasted bitter and rancid. There was ever so little turkey, ham and cheese on the sandwich one could hardly tell it was there. There was plenty of thick and tasteless bread, though. Not even the low-end store bought jam could help the flavor. I hoped that the iced-tea I had ordered would wash that rancid oil flavor out of my mouth, however the tea, too was not good. I had to throw my $10+ lunch away along with my hopes of finding this place as good as I had heard and read. read more

Terrible service: Old lady taking orders is partly deaf and dismissive of customers. I wasn't done with my order and she cut me off. I pulled up to the window to continue my order and she was upset that I didn't mention it at the receiver. Then after I mentioned an item I wanted to order she closed the window to place it and didn't let me finish again. Never going back there again. State Street location has way better service. Too bad that Parkcenter is a great location, just absolutely terrible service. read more

March 8th, 2013. I always show up at the East Boise, Westside Drive-in - (off Park Center) - famished. I bought 2 full orders the Prime Rib on Friday Night. Two orders. - And a Turkey melt on sour dough. (Just in case my Mom complained about the prime rib.) She has complained about it, before. (She is on a strict low salt diet.) 45 bucks. "To go." The servers were stellar. Good eye contact. They attempt to count your change back. I'm old school. I like my change counted back, to add up to the original amount I handed over, to the cashier. - Not counted back to me what the computer says should be your change. The cooks were quick and alert, flying around in the service windows, barking out dishes and so forth. The cooks and kitchen staff actually seemed interested in what they were doing. And believe it or not, I did not see anyone who was working, - texting. (I know that is mind-blowing.) The bathroom was clean and the tables were bussed and the clientele was pleasant. I like the place. Nice atmosphere. Booths with picture windows. An outdoor eating area. Plenty of parking. - Always. I took the order home. The prime rib was salty. Half of the prime rib was fat. Meat was rare - as ordered. -That was a pleasant surprise. I find it difficult to get a rare prime rib even at high end restaurants. The key is to go early if you want rare. And overall, - in retrospect - the cuts had good flavor, - if you like salt and fat. For a few more bucks I could go to Garden City and get some prime rib that would do circles around theirs, rare or not. The baked potatoes were: "Hard, yet, - soft-ish." And plenty greasy. I think that means, - "barely palatable." Or- "I ate the potato despite its texture, because I was really hungry." Kinda like a potato would be, if you microwaved it, and pretended it was baked. Or under-baked it, and served it semi-hard. Or - boiled it, and then microwaved it, and passed off to an Idahoan as a freak of nature. Native Idahoans with any self respect, are particular about their potatoes. The salads were better than most drive-in salads. However- I had the impression the lettuce had been soaked in MSG, to make it: "Green Again, and again and again." I don't know that this is true. - But - this is the impression I am getting. What is with - "going cheap on lettuce?" Bad lettuce makes or breaks a restaurant for me. For example, I will not buy the hamburgers at the Westside because they use shredded ice-burg. And - I must be just like an alcoholic that has selective memory, - of pleasurable past experiences, - I feel like I too, - driven by an addiction, - to fast food, called: "Gourmet" - have again, returned to The Park Center Westside Drive-in - in East Boise, for more disappointment, which later, will miraculously be transformed into "Euphoric Recall." My return as a paying customer, is evidence of my hippocampus gone awry. (In Alzheimer's disease, the hippocampus is one of the first regions of the brain to suffer damage; memory loss and disorientation - that are included among the early symptoms.) "This must be why I keep going back for more torture?" I'm taking back an entire stake sized piece of fat to ask for a refund. If there is a chef running the show at Park Center Westside Drive Inn, he or she has obviously, "Left the Building." And it is these types of experiences that cause me to cook for myself - out of necessity. - And to seek out "Taco Trucks" because the food doesn't make me sleepy. Next time I'm checking my order before I leave - and I am going ask for special ingredients, like different lettuce on my burger. If they can't customize their orders, then, "I fold. I'm out." I wouldn't even be writing this had I stayed a raw vegan. Mmmmm. Maybe this is the sign I've been waiting for? - Somebody had to say something - or nothing will get better. All things considered - There is a reason they call it - Bozo Idunno - (Boise, Idaho) How would you like to spend your money and time? read more

People love this place and I just don't get it. The food is fine, but every time I have gone there with friends I lose my appetite because the place is disgustingly dirty and the kitchen looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The place has the opportunity to have a great vibe (clean up, fresh coat of paint, clean the kitchen, train the staff, nice uniforms) but it just falls flat. Yay Prime Rib! It was definitely an experience eating prime rib at s fast food place, outside. But definitely worth it!

Lady at counter was very rude to me after I had to wait in line for 20 minutes, she confronted me about being to too her after I was being "rude" to her by the time of my voice but in the restaurant it was very loud, I recommend not going to the park center west side as the downtown west side is better has better service and not that long of a wait so I hope you listen to this message read more

I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, and DANG, that thing was huge!! Very good food all around, and you can't beat the Prime Rib on the weekend. Even though this location isn't the original, it lives up to the legend that is Westside and Chef Lou. read more

This place is legit. It was a restaurant featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives and it lives up to the hype. There is always a lot of different burgers, sandwiches, and dinners to choose from. One of my favorites is the tuna melt. It's a great place to take the family as well. It's a little bit out of the way if you don't live in Boise, but worth the visit. I only gave it 4 stars because every time I go there seems to be some sort of cleanliness issue, but nothing that would be concerning to the health department. Happy eating read more

We go there mainly for the fried mushrooms. The burgers are not seasoned they have way to much shredded lettuce and raw yellow onion. Not Good! We have tried both locations and several different burgers and we are not impressed! No more! Blah! read more

I've been there several times when visiting on business. Sometimes the food is fine but often the vegetables are old and going bad. I got food poisoning there last week, though, and now will never go back. If you do go, do NOT use the drive-through -- has to be the slowest drive-through in the history of restaurants. read more

West Side Drive in on State St used to have good food. I hadn't eaten there in years but stopped by the East side restaurant to grab something quick for lunch while out doing errands. Good grief, what a waste of money! I ordered a "home style" turkey burger. It was terrible. Dried out patty, and not seasoned well at all. To top it off, I ordered it as a combo with fries and a drink for an extra charge and got less than a handful of fries. All for close to $10. We won't be going back. Too expensive and NOT good food like they used to have. Too bad because we like to support local businesses over franchises, but the big chain burger place (I won't name names) that has a charbroiled turkey burger is a better price and a better burger. Hubby and me were out on a "Pokedate" on a Saturday night. We were making our way to Parkcenter Park, when it struck me that West Side MIGHT still be open at close to 10pm on a warm summer's evening (on a train bound for nowhere.. I met up with a Gambler.. ) Oops, sorry for the musical side trip! Sure enough, though they were closing at 10.. it was 9:55 when we stepped through the door. Now, my friends.. I have spent many a year in food service, and I KNOW the angst of having customers walk in as you are counting the seconds until you can lock the door.. so I made it clear.. no worries, no need to dirty the grill.. we're here for ice cream! They laughed, and even better it was clear that they'd have had no (visible) issue with cooking burgers for us. They WERE out of cones for ice cream.. so we switched to shakes. Cupcake flavor for me, basic Chocolate for the hubster. These were some FINE milkshakes.. REAL ice cream (versus the 1 molecule from being plastic mix they use at a few chains, or ice milk) with just the right amount of flavor.. and NOT TOO THICK (sorry Fanci Freez, I love you.. but I feel like I need to break out my vacuum cleaner if I want a sip right away!). We drove away, headed to the park with our frosty treats.. feeling very lucky indeed to have shown up before closing. Bravo West Side Drive-In, you made our night even more delightful! read more

We were INCREDIBLY disappointed in this place~ we ordered a variety of food from a burger and fries to stirfry to a milk shake to chicken sandwich~ needless to say we threw the majority of it away~ my significant other, who absolutely loves a good cheeseburger, said it was the worst one he has had in a long while. Several other friends that have tried it said they had bad food as well so apparently we didn't just hit them on an off day. As someone who eats out at a variety of establishments frequently, I simply cannot see how this place gets good reviews. We were looking forward to having it in the east end but unfortunately will not be dining there again. read more

Been going here for years. Food is good but it's just too dirty, been getting worse. Makes me wonder what the kitchen is like. Tables are always dirty, highchairs are awful, trash cans never washed and hunks of guck on the napkin dispensers. We have to say good bye to West Side. read more

Unfortunately this location has been a bit disappointing. The food is ok not really good or great. Also the drive-thru is horrible. If you're in a hurry don't expect to get in and out anytime soon. There have been multiple occasions where I've had to wait 15 to 20 minutes in line. Some probably think that's not too bad considering how busy west side is however I'm typically the first or second car in line. read more

First impression, it is dirty and expensive and then the food came. Wow, I thought the first impressions were bad mozzarella sticks were horrible, not sure how you get so little flavor and taste so bad. My 2 yr old would not eat the grilled cheese, I tried it and understood why. I am not sure what Guy saw, but this place is one of the worst in the valley. Not sure how this place is business, go to 5 guys for burgers or Kahootz for prime rib, not sure what should eat here for any price. read more
