Let me start with the fabulous service that we received from Kiana. She was so pleasant and so sweet when she greeted us and took our order. I like my potatoes extra extra done, when she brought our breakfast, they weren't quite extra extra done, but I said they were fine. James had a great suggestion for food - maple glazed pork chops(my favorite with a tangy sweet glaze) The lightly fried green beans appetizer is incredible. The Halibut (cooked to perfection) and crab melt(also excellent). John Henry delivered our food and was very visible as the manager of Westside Grill - his staff loves working for and along side of him(having been a manager at a food establishment, I always felt it was important to be part of the working staff, and John Henry works as hard as his staff ). Curtis kept our waters filled and always had a smile. I personally love the sangria, the rest of our party of four had Hahn Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio. My friend made reservations at Westside Grill for my birthday. We came in at 10 AM on Saturday. They have a huge parking lot so it was easy to find parking. We walked in and were asked if we wanted to sit in the lounge or the dining room. We chose the dining room because I wanted a booth. Our server, Christian, was knowledgeable and friendly. He radiated positive energy. I asked him for his recommendation and ultimately ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs + I upgraded my pancakes to the Berries & Cream. I'm so happy I upgraded because the French toast was delicious. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict and loved it. Christian was attentive. He served us coffee & water when needed and didn't rush us out. He ensured we were having a wonderful time. Christian made our experience memorable. Neither of us live in Gilroy but we couldn't find a "gorgeous birthday brunch restaurant" in Morgan Hill or south SJ. Westside Grill offers the total experience and the place is gorgeous inside. Our server, Omar, was friendly, knowledgeable about his menu, and very attentive. Our orders were taken quickly, and food began arriving within minutes. The lobster bisque was flavorful, chunks of lobster floating throughout, and the seasoning spectacular. I had the lamb for my entree. It was cooked to perfection, and having grown up in a Greek restaurant, I know lamb. Our bottle of wine was a local merlot,but complimented the meal exactly. Since I had my little travel buddy with me, and was wanting a place that would allow for my companion. My server was very kind and professional, even brought my friend a small bowl of water. Started with a couple appetizers, the green beans had rave reviews and calamari is one of my standard go tos when available and it was. Tempura Green Beans are quite tasty and a very cool twist on this veggie appetizer. Very interesting, fried, airy puffy, crispy green beans in a light tempura batter, a side mustard sauce. They were are good "snack" and not overfillling, a plus in my book. The Crispy Calamari was delicately battered, golden crispy brown with a near perfect cook, tender and delicious with a side dipping sauce. These were also a good appetizer. The Grilled Pork Chops is where I landed for my entree and they were very good, the two nice grill marked chops are a large portion with a topping of mushrooms and pears, served with sides of mash and a medley of veggies along with a nice house salad (served ahead of the chops). The chops were very tender and juicy, cooked again near spot on. Only drawback, its a huge plate of food. Leftovers are a given with this one. All of us enjoyed the food we ordered from the appetizer to the entree. Portions were fair so we did not have enough room for dessert. Indoor and outdoor dining are both available. Seating was comfortable and spacious. Server was polite and our party of three enjoyed our meal while we caught up with our friend. I enjoyed their soup the most to the point where I ordered a second one for dining in and a third to-go for my sister to try. All ingredients within each dish tasted fresh. The broth was rich and flavorful, and there were ample clams. The blackened salmon salad was very good - salmon was cooked beautifully. The salad was a larger version of the house salad. I've never witnessed anything like it. I'd never speak to anyone like that, let alone a woman, especially while she's working her ass off. Disgusting behavior and that dude should be ashamed. Feel bad for the women in his life. All because of something on TV? Inappropriate and unprofessional. Love this restaurant. Me and my wife have been dining here for 6+ years and I don't think we've ever had a bad experience here. The wait time is always fair even on a busy weekend. The staff is great and always welcoming. Waiters and bar staff always have good positive energy, always smiling and always checking in on us and attentive to our needs. The food never disappoints. The menu has some unusual items and a few familiar ones, to start I had a Cesar salad and some appetizers that are LARGE enough to share with everyone (we ordered the calamari) truthfully you almost don't want to share, is it fair to just keep it to yourself? I am NOT sure what the answer etiquette would dictate (haha) For my main course I had the bacon cheddar burger, it was grilled to perfection and was very tasty.
