This is the WORST Wetzel's Pretzels location! Our last two orders were extremely poor quality. My young daughter almost bit into a jalapeño pepper (allergic) in what should have been a cinnamon sugar pretzel bite. My cheddar cheese sauce was Cold, and my pretzel was stale and like rubber. When I contacted corporate, I was told to send receipts, which I did. In response, the man (Sean) told me he could not help to reach a resolution. He simply referred me back to the Camarillo store and said I would need to drive back down and request a refund. This is Unacceptable and Highly Unprofessional. Okay so I actually like Wetzel's in general. There are 3 to choose from in the Camarillo Outlets. This review is for the one in the center section in between PacSun and Aldo. The other 2 locations were out of the mozzarella pretzels. This one had them. To be fair, we caught them about 15 minutes before closing.... so maybe that contributed something to the dissatisfaction. While the cheese was melty, the pretzels themselves did not taste overly fresh. The clerk recommended eating them with the pizza sauce. We had a 30% off coupon and a free dip reward and so glad we used them. I would have been even more disappointed had I paid full price. The pizza sauce, although a bit too sweet for my liking, was needed because the sticks themselves aren't very flavorful. It's deceiving because they have a very nice crumb coat on them which made me think I'd be tasting parmesean or garlic. I just tasted bread crumb. Like I said, the cheese wasn't hard, it was soft and melty. Not hot melty, just soft pully. If that gives you any kind of visual, haha. For the price of $9.99 I don't think their worth it. Even at the 30% off I don't think their worth it. Maybe if you get them hot fresh out of the oven it's a different story. Does hot and fresh help flavor? I don't know. But sadly that wasn't the case tonight. I know getting a hot fresh pretzel is yummy, so maybe that the trick for these too. I went in here because they trapped me with the wonderful pretzel smell. As you walk by you try to resist the temptation as you just had a big lunch. First round I win. Second round, you have support. Yes you have other people outside saying mmmm pretzels. Point for you my friend as I tell my husband let's share one. Unfortunately I was let down a path of lies and disappointment. The strawberry lemonade icee was so sour and was all icee. I had to wait for it to melt on my drive home to drink it. The pretzel bites were delicious, not too sweet, but some of them were not sweet at all. It appears some of them also needed a second round of coating. With this I say you've twisted my arm. Someone please find Auntie Anne because Mr. Wetzel needs help. Lesson learned, don't go towards the end of the day. You will be limited to whatever is remaining in the case because the staff is no longer baking fresh items. Beware, I chose a CHEESE MELTDOWN pretzel. There was nothing cheesy or melty about it. Bought it on my way home, only to realize it was STALE, HARD, AND DRY! It was on the verge of being a thick cracker. If I were to guess, that pretzel was probably in that warm display case all day drying out. Is no one routinely checking the rotation of product to ensure freshness?? I called the store the next day and the "manager" (or someone claiming to be such) welcomed me back at anytime to get a free replacement pretzel. Sounds good, right? Well, I showed up within 30 minutes of that call. Upon arrival, no one would speak up and acknowledge that they spoke with me. I literally stood there making my case again, holding up the line, amidst the employees shooting questioning glances at each other, because the staff felt like I was trying to swindle them out of a damn pretzel. That is 5 minutes of my life I will never get back, plus the 5 minutes I'm taking to write this review while shaking my head since I can't believe I'm ranting about a pretzel. Ultimately, they did give me a free PEPPERONI TWIST pretzel -- and go figure, it was better than the last culprit, but still stale! Ugh, I give up. This location is nice, we were excited because we had front row parking. The atmosphere is nice and inviting, bright. We were welcomed with smiles and greetings, also there was a baker wrapping pretzel dough around little, baby hot dogs. That was fun for the kids to see. After several hours of shopping at the Camarillo Premium Outlets, shopping partner Ciara G and I finally found one of two Wetzel's Pretzels locations that we knew were around. Woohooo!!!! I was armed with my Entertainment Book coupons, so we got 2 for 1 cinnamon pretzels ($3.29 ea) and a Wetzel Dog (1 jalapeno cheese, 1 regular, $3.59 ea). Talk about comfort food!! Wetzel's drowns everything in butter, I realize, but it is SO DAMN DELISH when it's hot and fresh. The jalapeno cheese dog was SPICY! Visited this place during Labor Day weekend and wanted to share my experience. Ordered 2 cinnamon pretzels, 2 pretzels, 1 cheese dipping sauce, 1 frozen lemonade, 1 Pepsi. It was a warm weekend but we managed to find a spot outside to sit and enjoy our food and drinks. Wetzel's Pretzels is our go to spot for a snack. We always try to find one especially when we visit new places. The cinnamon pretzels were good, a little tougher than usual but manageable. The cheese was nice and warm and the pretzels were fresh. The frozen drink was nice and cold. Little sweet but refreshing. *** This is where the issue arose. The Pepsi did not taste good at all. I asked for them to make it right and they tried once and it still didn't taste right. I asked for a refund and they said, sorry no refunds since you paid by credit card. They basically let me walk out unhappy, no refund, and no drink. Very nice when trying to sell and upsell you, but the attitude changed when trying to make it right. Not even the manager could help. Way better than Auntie Anne's. The pretzels are always soft and buttery and never burnt. I normally get the bitz because for some reason they're more fun to eat. They're a little more expensive than what a whole pretzel would be but that's okay because they give you more anyways. I also stick with the cheese sauce because who doesn't love hot melted (plastic) cheese with their bread? I don't recommend their slushies because they are really sweet and always leave me with a headache in the end. This is a great location because it's an easy stop when shopping. There aren't a lot of food options in the massive Camarillo outlet area but this Wetzel's Pretzels is a gold mine. We were arriving from the other outlets section and needed a snack. Wetzel's large salted soft pretzel and large lemonade was the perfect solution for my wife and me. The place was busy but the staff served people quickly. They were very busy. There's a food court nearby but everything is tucked away so this location is super busy. Must be a nice franchise to own. Prices here are the same as other Wetzel's Pretzel locations -- it's not outlet factory store discounts. But that's fine. read more

Two out of three of our pretzels were burned black on the bottom. I came back in and asked to exchange them for two unburned ones. The worker was like, well where is your receipt? Um, I was JUST HERE two minutes ago and have a Wetzel's Pretzels bag....Anyway I showed her the receipt and she said well take them out and prove to me they're burnt, so I did.
