Long over due review. I would give this place zero stars if I could. From my experience Mr. Tad is ALWAYS rude. I've come here many occasions for my lunch break since I work here at the Americana. I usually order with no problem and get my Americana discount. Today was a different story. Mr. Tad refused to give it to me because I did not have my badge? Since when have Wetzel's Pretzels needed my badge for employee discounts? I can go to many other kiosk and have them honor it with out having my badge on. I've ordered at Wetzel's before with NO BADGE and had the discount honored. What really grinds my gears is the inconsistency with customer service - specifically with Mr. Tad. Been going to this exact location for years and it wasn't until yesterday I got the worst service ever. I ordered four pretzels in total and as I was ordering I told the employee I wanted salted bites and told me they don't have any pizza bites ready when I didn't ask for that. After my order I only received two pretzels and a cheese dip. I noticed when I got back to the car where I only saw two and cheese dip I didn't ask for. So I went back to get this sorted out since they didn't give me the complete order. I told the workers what happened and they said they couldn't do anything without the receipt which I wasn't given and they also said my order couldn't be found on the computer which I knew I was being lied to. I showed a bank statement to prove I made a purchase that night and was told they couldn't do anything. The other problem was that I was also getting attitude from them as well. The manager too which was Joel was also giving me attitude and telling me nothing can be done. I've never been to any place and been told by a manger that nothing can be done. What an incredible and Kind owner. We have been sitting in front of the booth with my friend it was closing time, this gentleman kept giving food to the security, the cleaners, staff.... finally they closed the booth , my daughter came out of the movie and wanted water , she went and asked for water the employee said sorry we' re closed.... the owner came out a minute later with a bottle of water and just gave it to my daughter. Can't say much when he isn't around, but when he is, every single pretzel I've had is fresh, warm, dough-ey goodness. The owner is incredibly rude to his customers. I was in line for 5 minutes and it was finally my turn to order! I started to speak and he walked away and helped someone at the pickup window as I was trying to place an order. I patiently waited for him. Because the scanner did not scan the barcode at this location at the Americana Mall in Glendale the manager wouldn't give me the free pretzel. He watch me go through the whole process and because his scanner didn't work we would not redeem the free offer & I had my barcode on my phone. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I would give 0 stars if I could. The older man Asian/Chinese man is so incredibly rude and sets such an terrible example to the younger employees because they're just as rude. I never thought I would be so unhappy with a pretzel stand that's led me to write this review on a Saturday night, but that's just how terrible this location is. The issue was not that I didn't get what I wanted it was the way they ALL handled the situation especially the older gentleman. Everyone working there is so rude and angry. As I was ordering I specifically asked for no cinnamon sugar on some, (which I understand may be inconvenient but I've done this before and it's just so I can share with my 2year old) the younger employee says something under his breath and I assumed it was no problem (huge mistake) because as I mentioned I've asked this before and it wasn't a problem. When the older employee practically tossed my order at me I asked for the ones I requested and he ignored me and said "we don't do that". I then proceeded to explain that that's what I had asked when I ordered and wasn't told this. No problem, I requested a refund. He ignored me again, so I said it louder. He said because I touched my drink(TOUCHED the cup, not physically drank anything because I haven't even walked away, this all happen at the window). I asked for a refund on the food order and he was so incredibly rude, the entire staff needs to be re trained. All of this would of been avoided if they had adequate customer service training from the beginning, ex: "I'm sorry we can't do this for your order" done. Beware! I guess he is the owner and his name is Mr. Chiang. I ordered the cinnamon bits, but the guy forgot to toss them. So Mr. Chiang dumped a huge scoop on it. I asked him if I could get them tossed and he said they were. I said that I saw they weren't and he raised his voice at me "are you saying I'm lying?!" I asked why he was being rude to me, it was unnecessary. I walked away and tried to eat one and it was pure sugar even after trying to shake it down to the bottom. And I felt crappy after the interaction. I went to get my money back. He slammed the bits in the trash and gave me money from the tip jar. I straight up said why are you being an a-hole? He looked at me and in front of children said, "Fuck you. You bitch." I was shocked. He wouldn't give me his name, kept justifying himself saying I was rude first and none of his employees would look at me or speak to me.
