Hours are disappointing and their lack of vegan options makes it impossible to eat at.

The inside was super clean and they had tons of options, although there was really only one true vegetarian option. That ended up being what we ordered -- the #18 Poor Boy -- and I added pepperoncinis to it. Honestly, it was really good. The sandwiches are HUGE and could easily be shared if you're not super hungry. We ordered them to go, and they were kind enough to include paper plates for the picnic we had planned later, which was a really nice touch. Everyone was also really friendly and greeted us when we walked in, which made the experience even better. It took about 10 minutes for them to make everything. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid sandwich stop.

Was skeptical, but as soon as I walked in and was greeted by the owner and staff, I knew that this place was special. The world is upside down right now and everybody seems to be in survival mode and the positive energy from this place, does it's part in keeping me grounded and brings everything back into perspective. Got a huge meat lovers sandwich on a toasted sourdough roll for $12.50 which is crazy. This sandwich would be close to $20 anywhere in the Bay Area. For the food and especially the service I will be coming back any time I am in the area.

The restaurant was busy but very neat and tidy inside. Once I went to the pickup counter, I told them my name and very politely they pulled my order and made sure each sandwich was in there. No lunch from here is complete without a fresh cookie. The Reuben had thick slices of corned beef and a nice helping of sauerkraut to add a tangy sour flavor. The rye was soft and absorbed the Russian dressing. The Bullfeather was "perfect" with pepper jack cheese and chipotle sauce added. I'm counting down the days until we order again for lunch.

Today, work brought me to the Sonoma area, and I stumbled upon a hidden gem: Sonoma Sourdough Sandwiches. At first glance, it's easy to overlook--the shop is tucked away in an industrial part of town and doesn't scream "gourmet eats." But let me tell you, this place proves that you don't need a fancy storefront to serve up seriously impressive food. I stopped by right at noon, peak lunch hour, and was pleasantly surprised--no line, quick service, and my order was ready in just a few minutes. I went with the #17, turkey with thick-cut bacon, and it was massive. But the real star? The bread. The freshly baked sourdough was next-level--perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside. It took the entire sandwich up several notches. Every ingredient was fresh, the flavors were balanced, and honestly, I'm still full hours later. If you're in Sonoma and craving a legit sandwich, Sonoma Sourdough Sandwiches is absolutely worth the stop

Plan accordingly. Once inside, the place cleans up nicely -- a monochromatic palette with an almost-retro diner feel, black pendant lights, ceiling fans, the works. It's not trying too hard, which I respect. The one aesthetic hiccup: the ceiling and its fluorescent lighting read a little Department of Motor Vehicles, which is a shame given the effort put in everywhere else. But the room was busy, and a full house is always the most reliable review you can get. Now, the burgers. The Classic with tater tots? Excellent. The BBQ and the Original? Also excellent. The Chicken Ranch was outstanding -- rich, indulgent, the kind of thing that makes you briefly forget you're a person with consequences. I paid for that forgetting with a mild bout of indigestion, but one Tums and 20 minutes later, I was back in the game. No regrets. The chocolate milkshake hit exactly the spot it was aiming for. Fries, however, were the one miss -- good bones, but pulled from the fryer a minute or two shy of where they needed to be. Crispier, please. You're this close. Service was attentive and efficient. Pressed isn't trying to be anything other than what it is -- a well-executed smash burger spot -- and on that front, it largely delivers.

Pulled into this small-town pocket of Sonoma County and boom--this isn't just a market... it's a…read morefull-blown main character moment. Came here to meet a friend before a trip to the coast and somehow this place turned into mission control. Snacks? Covered. Drinks? Secured. "What's the plan?" meeting? Handled. This place isn't a stop... it's the pregame to your entire adventure. We walked in like "let's just grab a couple things real quick" ...and immediately started acting like we were prepping for a 3-day expedition into the wilderness. Trail mix, drinks, random artisan goodies we absolutely didn't need but emotionally required--into the basket they go. The vibe hits you right away--warm, local, no nonsense. Not that fake "rustic but expensive" energy... this is the real deal. The kind of place where you half expect someone to hand you sourdough and life advice. Now let's talk about that wood-fired kitchen... The smell alone should come with a warning label. You walk in thinking you have self-control... and 5 minutes later you're ordering like you just finished a marathon you didn't run. Zero regrets. Grab-and-go here is elite. Perfect if you're road-tripping because everything feels intentional--like it was made for people who say "we'll just eat in the car" and then end up parked somewhere scenic turning it into a full dining experience. Outside seating? Dangerous. You sit down "just for a minute" and suddenly you're 45 minutes deep into conversation, solving life, planning detours, and debating whether the coast trip should include at least three unnecessary stops (it should). The market side is where discipline goes to die. You go in for water... leave with snacks, drinks, and at least one item you'll later say, "honestly... great decision." Parking is easy, place is clean, and the whole experience just flows without trying too hard. This isn't just a market. It's a pit stop that turns into a personality trait. Will I be back? Yeah... next time I'm pretending I only need one thing again.

I feel like it's presence in the area has changed the tone of the other businesses and bringing the quality up substantially. Owned and operated by the stellar team from Petaluma Market, Penngrove market has a ton of amazing things. I have been known to pop in and wander even if I don't have anything I need, just to see what they have seasonally or new. I love their gourmet options and so much is locally sourced. In the back, you will find fresh pizza and sandwiches made for lunch time and dinner and they also do to go dinner that you can pre-order for your entire family which is great. Some of my favorite things from Penngrove market are the JM Rosen cheesecake, their awesome selection of chocolates and desserts, and the ever-changing coffee, tea and spices. For the wine and beer drinkers, they have a small but impressive selection of local and imported beverages, as well as many drinks for those looking for something refreshing and non-alcoholic. The coffee bar at the front is an excellent choice for morning pastry and hot drink, or you can bypass that entirely and go for the Strauss organic soft serve which is honestly not to be missed. The location of the store is easy to get to as long as you are coming at a time that does not coincide with school pickup, and there's lots of parking right on the street or in their parking lot. Prices are moderately high, but what you get for that price is high quality and supporting local business which works for me!
