Cute little beachside cafe with several basic items and drinks. No indoor seating. Nothing "spectacular" about the food, but it's a good option for a quick breakfast/snack without having to leave the the resort area. I've only had their acai bowls ($12). They're on the smaller side, and had too much granola and not enough acai - but still yummy :) read more

Do not recommend. Really pricey for the quality of food. We got two coffees, an açaí bowl, and two breakfast sandwiches for $65 bucks. One of the pricier breakfasts we have had here and definitely ranked worst in terms of quality. The iced coffee was Luke warm. Acai bowl was fruit you would get at 711 (grapes, melon, and one piece of pineapple) with a liquid smoothie over top with some granola and it was $16... breakfast panini sounded good but was a premade sandwich that they popped into the toaster. Bacon was flabby and not cooked and sandwich lacked any flavor. We actually were disappointed we ate it but we were hungry so powered through. We think Starbucks would have been a better choice... read more

This was a food truck essentially. They have breakfast offerings and lunch/dinner. They also serve alcohol. Prices are reasonable (still taking into account it's Maui pricing) and the food we ordered was good. We had fish tacos. You get 2 by the way if ordering them here. They also have cornhole and a fire pit right next to it. Tip - if you don't want to pay $125 for the luau you can see it from the seating here crystal clear - you just won't get the open bar and buffet the luau ticket gives you!! read more

The people are VERY nice. However, the food is terribly bad. This place use to be good before Marriott bought them. Now, they use purée and ice cream in all of their smoothies and açaí bowl. Biggest let down was açaí bowl- it was fake açaí, granola with raisins, not fresh or seasonal fruit (melons), and was $14. :( huge disappointment in the quality :( don't go here if you are at the Marriott or anywhere else. Great breakfast spot. Had a decent selection of options with a convenient location on the Wailea beach path. The breakfast panini was excellent. The cinnamon and banana breads were also very good. Quick service and the setting could not be better. Location would be good for a cocktail in the evening during sunset. Was really excited to come here as I had seen good reviews and it was right next to where we were staying. I ordered two açaí bowls and they came out pretty quick and looked amazing. Unfortunately, once my sister and I started to eat them we noticed there was barely any açaí. It just barely lined the bottom of the bowl and it was not cold and refreshing like most açaí we've had is. When ordering our bowls, the cashier asked the other guy working if he had enough açaí for our bowls and he said yes. Upon making them, I would have preferred to be told they actually don't have enough and we will get a refund versus getting the skimpy bowls that we got. It was basically eating fruit with some granola and a little bit of warm mushy açaí. Will probably not be coming back. read more

Walk on by. That's what I did until noticing the sign strategically placed in the walkway behind the Marriott Hotel. After stopping by Migrant, I wandered up to the small building just up the stairs. There were two chill guys who remind me of surfer dudes standing in the front of the counter. After a quick read of their menu, my order was pretty simple: Maui Mahi Tacos (especially since they were labeled as their signature dish). As it was about sunset and the dining area was empty, I decided to bring this back to my room to supplement some food that I bought at Whole Foods for dinner. My order was packed well (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Y04-UHK90qfFIcHLNQtMcA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and came with three sauce containers of the mango salsa, kula tomato salsa, and some form of aioli. The two pluses were that the fish was grilled, not deep fried, and they gave me two flour tortillas for each, sturdy enough to hold all of the ingredients without dropping them in the box. Portions are generous as the fish filled the entire tortilla. For $15.00, it is on the pricy side, but... hey, it's Maui! Other than this, their offerings are mainly smoothies, breakfast items, and cocktails... guess you gotta cash in on that scenery here. Not sure if I'll be back, more likely if there are more menu choices. read more

For context, we did not stay at the Marriott. Instead, we were at the Grand Wailea next door, which from their pool area is a quick 5 minutes walk to Whale's Tale. So let me tell you why this was dangerous for us. We visited Whale's Tale nearly every day. The food here surpasses the pool food at Grand Wailea by a lot. If you purchase a koozie, then you can return for $5 beers! The maui brew co. pineapple is everything I hoped for in a beer. They are generous with the amount of fish that is included in the tacos, and the slaw is delicious. I'm also a huge fan of the pork nachos - also very generous portions. On the morning before we rented a kayak from the vendor next door to Whale's Tale, we ordered the banana nut bread that we heard others rave about. It definitely lives up to the hype! So moral of this story is stop ordering pool food and come over here to have a no-fuss, delicious meal. read more

What a little gem we discovered after following the music from Grand Wailea. We stumbled upon the luau show. This place is a perfect side view for someone traveling on a budget. We were with kids and didn't plan on a luau this time since my little slept through it last time. The food and drinks and great compared to the surround resorts. This is all about the location. Nestled between the Wailea Beach Resort and the Wailea beach, this little snack hut provides a great view, comfortable seating, and a variety of options. They open at 6:30AM and have fruit smoothies, green juices, coffee drinks, sweet and savory breakfast options and açaí bowls. For lunch and dinner, there is less to choose from. You're looking at fish tacos, pork nachos, or a pre-packaged chicken caesar salad. Many alcoholic drink options and you can grab something on your way to Wailea beach! We had the mahi tacos, they were OK. We also had the chicken salad not knowing it was pre packaged. We also had a green juice, a tequila cocktail, and an iced coffee. It was all OK tasting. The service is great, the people at that resort are so nice and genuine. Location can't be beat... if they improve the taste of the food this could easily be a 5 Star due to esthetic, location, and service! read more

Stopped by this place this morning hoping for a refreshing, mouthwatering and fresh açaí bowl. Instead, was provided a room temperature, overly sweetened, smooshy blob mixed with special k granola and "local" fruit (are honeydew melon, cantaloupe, and canned mango local, hmm?) which definitely was not freshly cut. The "açaí" which they deemed as an ingredient in their bowl is in fact a mixture of what tasted like banana, way too much honey, and warm water--I've had my fair share of açaí, and this is NOT it. I didn't hear a blender turn on once, so I peaked behind the counter, and they appeared to have pre-made this nasty mixture before serving everyone. If I'm paying $12 for a small little bowl, it better be worth it. This was not. Steer clear if you are looking for something refreshing and natural. read more

Surrounded by tiki torches, Hulu dancers, and the Hawaii sunset, would highly recommend having a cocktail here and enjoying the weather along the weilea beach front path. Such a great place to get a bite to eat while sitting on the shore watching the waves. The two flatbreads- mozzarella and pork were served on a wooden plank. Both were delicious...liked the mozzarella slightly more. Pork nachos were served in a bamboo tray. Nice presentation and quite good. The macadamia nut açaí bowl with strawberries, blueberries, bananas with granola and coconut is my favorite for breakfast. They also serve an assortment of fresh juices and frozen drinks. Whales's Tale is a small take away bar at the area of the Wailea Beach Resort. In comparison to the quite expensive hotel restaurant, the Whale's Tale is a good alternative. We were staying at the Grand Wailea and wanted to find something that we could grab for lunch while at the pool/beach area. We took the beach path and found Whale's Tale right next door! It took us less than 5 minutes to walk to it from the Grand Wailea pool area. We shared an order of the Kahlua Pork nachos and they were DELICIOUS! Comparable prices for the area and super convenient if you want to try something other than the hotel restaurants or poolside food. They have a variety of food options that looked delicious as well! Would recommend for anyone staying in the area. They also have a patio area where you can enjoy your food/drinks or get it to go like we did. read more
