I have never encountered such a rude staff. Every single person in that store was rude and aggressive. They do not wash their hands or wear masks. Any other bagel place in Oakhurst is better than what about a bagel with their stale bagels. The manager Val needs to learn better customer service and actually treat people like human beings. Never had a bad experience here. I've found the staff to be helpful and friendly for the most part. Bagels are delicious and the rest of the food on the menu I've had had here as been good as well. I worked here through high school, so I'm a little biased. This shop has gone through multiple owners, but the bagel remains the same. Their baker, Harvey, who I believe is still there (as of last year), taught me to appreciate a good hand-rolled, "home-baked" bagel. I still look for what he said today. The best part about working there was the community vibe. When I opened on Sunday mornings, I always knew what bagels I needed to have ready for certain regulars. I'm sure the current crew feels the same. When I"m home, I still like to stop in. I don't know the staff or owners, but some of those regulars are still there. It's a pretty good local place to get bagels and breakfast sandwiches, the food is good. The issues with this place are that they don't seem to have ac or heat. Attempting to eat here in the summer is brutal. Also the level of service leaves much to be desired. There are a few nice staff members but overall it's a pretty unfriendly vibe. Very rude! I asked one of the cashiers if they were out of salami or did not carry it. She says we don't and I said why not. She says no one wants it...I say it's one of the most popular cold cuts (#4 in US). She says people who come here are healthier and don't want it with a very rude attitude. I was totally ignored until someone white came to the counter. The worker behind the counter asked me "if I wanted something". I replied " yes" and the worker turned around and walked away. Stopped here to grab a quick breakfast/lunch on Saturday. First of all, there were at least 7 high school age kids hanging out behind the counter. There was no perceivable line so other customers were ordering from behind me. Also the price for a sandwich listed on the menu was less than what I ended up paying at the counter. I usually go to this bagel shop often because it's so close. Today I was charged 4.41 for a bagel with cream cheese, which I know is not the correct price because I am usually charged something cheaper and different. With that being said, their pricing is inconsistent always. Maybe it's because their customers can't read the prices on the board without actually staring at it for a whole minute. Nothing about the bagel was good. I stopped in and tried a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bagel was hard and dry. The egg and bacon were not great either. I actually didn't eat any of it. I hate giving poor reviews but this was probably one of the worst because I've ever had and I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Just left this pace after they told me they couldn't put cream cheese on 1/2 a bagel. I was told we normally don't do that even though they've done for me in the past. I've overlooked that it's not the cleanest place in the world and In the service can be slow especially at the register when they end up talking to each other instead of waiting on you. I love the food here. I have been coming in for years normally on weekends, once in a while during the week. The staff is always helpful, but something that has occurred on two separate visits recently bothered me. I have felt uncomfortable because when I tried to confirm the counter person understood how I wanted my order, she nodded and then spoke in Spanish to another worker who then looked directly at me. So since I know she is capable of speaking English since she had asked me in English what I wanted...was she just confirming my order or was she saying something about me? We are regulars and my husband never gets our order right (we have a large family) So it is easier for me to call in the order and him pick up. Im so sick of them taking the phone off the hook or just not answering. Then when you get there the line is out the door. Just the other day they would not have been half as busy if they would pick up the phone. 6 out of the 10 people in line had tried calling and were all ignored. We have been trying other places in the area that pick up the phone. Very annoying. Then very inconsistent with the amount of cream cheese/butter put on the bagel. Some days there is barely anything and other days there is a ridiculous amount. They are also extremely slow with making sandwiches. I waited 20 minutes for one sandwich.
