The measure of a good restaurant is would we go back and the answer is Yes for the reasons listed below; 1. The best fried chicken we have had in years. 2. The price is right and maybe "under" price compared to their competition. 3. The owners attitude for good customer service. This is not a quick serve place. All the food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait your 20 minutes. Be sure to order a few items that are not listed on the display board like the cold slaw and onion rings. We did not try the variety of sauces they offer cause we like our chicken plain. We ate inside because they have a few tables available but next time we will call ahead and get it to go. read more

This was, by far, the best experience I had during my trip to Dallas. We went on a Saturday afternoon and ordered the special. 24 wings and a large fry for $29.99. The cashier was super nice! We also ordered a red velvet cake cup. He took our order and we sat and waited for about 10min and our food came out hot and fresh. This chicken reminds me of Chick A Sea from back home in Bad Newz! So good. I'm not a fan of the mild sauce, but I'm not a Chicago native either. Texas Pete hit on these wings just fine! The fries were good! The cake was good, but the layers are so thick, it needs more icing (respectfully). It wasn't super sweet. It was perfect. Just needs more icing ! I'M DUCKIN ON "CLUCKIN"! Had some day laborers over to the house and they wanted fried chicken, so instead of going to a big box place I decided to support a locally owned establishment. For what was received, the prices were rather high at $7 for the two piece white (yes, just a breast and wing). Plus, add $1 for each side you order. The breasts we received were small and, well, mine at least was rather dry. Don't think you're going to be able to grab and go here, our order took over 20 minutes, and I was the one of only two customers in there at lunch time on a Saturday. And maybe it was the grease or cleaner they use (or don't use), but my feet stuck to the floor. My recommendation, stay with Popeye's or Churches or even KFC for a better product for a better price. I live on the other side of Plano, but I wanted to give them a try. The mostly specialize in fried chicken of various types, but they also have fried catfish. Since "Clucking" is in their name, I went with chicken. :-D I had the 4-piece dark with fried okra. I got my food to go because, you know, pandemic, and it was a good 20 minutes back home before I could eat, but in spite of that the food was still good. I liked the chicken, but the real surprise was the hot sauce. I love salsa, but I usually don't care for the usual vinegary-shake-it-from-a-bottle hot sauces. What they gave me was not that. It was tasty and tangy, almost more like a cousin to barbecue sauce. I don't usually put sauce on fried chicken, but this genuinely made it better. Pleasant surprise! The fried okra was good. The serving was larger than I expected. I liked that they double- wrapped. Each item was in its own bag and then they were placed in a carrying bag. This helped them hold their heat and moisture on the long trip home. Service was great and they have a good set up to allow for social distancing while ordering and waiting. One interesting thing is that they have a lot of great art hanging on the walls, worth taking a minute to check them out. They have some paintings that are easily ten-feet tall. Hello Linda's After receiving the listing for awesome restaurants in the DFW area I decided to give this place a try. I was excited because it's in the North and a lot of these restaurants are in south Dallas. I had questions about how the chicken was prepared. About 2 weeks ago I went to a new to me restaurant and ordered salt & pepper wings and there were jalapenos all over the chicken. I didn't want this nor did I know that's how they were prepared. Needless to say Linda's I learned my lesson and I decided to ask how their wings were prepared. The lady working the register gave me a funny look when I asked & seemed a little insulted. This is the part where I have to insert that the music was so loud in the back that she couldn't hear me asking my questions That last part is important because when what I believed was my order came up for me to grab. It turned out not to be my order. They were mad rude because I couldn't hear them. Let me just say that part was a huge turn off due to the comments being made about me by the staff. I love wonderful customer service but I was truly taken back by the unprofessionalism I got over myself and took that L from them in that area. The saving grace in this experience was the food. The mushrooms were excellent and my fish was good even though it could've been fried harder. The only food item that wasn't amazing was the chicken. It wasn't bad, but wasn't as good as the rest of my food. Give the food a try as it's worth the stars that I'm giving it. Hopefully the customer service will be better on your visit.
