I had a couple of my friends, one lives in NYC and the other goes to Chicago often, try this place and they BOTH said this place as the seal of approval for one of the better pizza places they've had. Ever. Be it the thicker dough or the classic NY styled pizza, everything is good there. We've had pizzas with white and red sauce and they all were delicious in their own way. Oh! And if you come across the homemade banana pudding, grab one. It is delicious and VERY unique. My partner and I go to Magnolia often and try a lot of different banana puddings from many different places (we're both fans of the dessert lol) and this one is ranked in our top three! Parking for this spot is a bit of a headache, but if you find a spot in the nearby neighborhood just go for it. As long as you're not parked in any red zones you're fine. Once you get in, the restaurant's ambiance is very much like something out of a movie--the classic black and white decor and tiles--at least around the check out/ordering area. The dining area had a whole bunch of art all over the walls, almost looking like street art, which I love. The doors leading to the bathrooms are covered in Grammy winning or multi-platinum records and you just kinda feel like you've been transported out of CA for a brief moment and then right back in. Not a fan of this place based on my first visit. Customer service especially was strongly lacking. Pros: + (Rewarmed) Pizza slices were piping hot and crispy with a crisp bottom. + The spicy pepperoni was really spicy and had a heat I've not tried at any other pizza place. + Garlic knots were pretty good, although the marinara dip is served ice cold for some reason. Cons: - Soda machine was broken and would burp out blasts of air and violently shake the machine which spilled the soda and made it very hard to fill a cup. Considering a soda cup costs like $3.30 with tax there's no excuse for the machine to be broken. - Staff would only serve slices of pizzas they had already baked, which at our visit at prime dinner time included only five choices: 2 types of cheese, 2 types of pepperoni, and one white pizza. Considering they are supposed to sell slices of 14 different pizzas according to their menu it was frustrating to see the workers standing around joking and not making the pizzas they were supposed to be selling slices from. - The restaurant locked the bathrooms and claimed there were no restrooms for customer use. When the staff would use the restroom and come out, some people managed to grab the door and sneak in, but to lock the customers out of the bathroom and make it so people cannot wash their hands before they eat at the very least seems irresponsible especially in a post-COVID society. - One of our party members had dietary restrictions but they refused to sell her a slice of the vegan pizza; they said she had to buy an entire pizza for ~$30 if she wanted to eat. The cherry on top is they say "no outside food," so for her to eat with us she had to sneak in food from a nearby restaurant who would make her something she could eat. This restaurant reminds me of Prince Street Pizza, except Prince Street bakes all of their pizzas (not 1/3 of their pizzas like this place) and will serve you a slice of anything on the menu, including the pizzas for customers with dietary restrictions. read more

New York style, Detroit style, and Roman style. The dough here is insane. So good. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Even after letting the pizza sit for a bit. The bread is still good. Had the buffalo chicken which was so good. The detroit style was delicious as well. The roman style was light and fluffy. I also tried the chicken wings. They were really good. Dude working the register was so so, the people making the pizzas, zero food handling skills. No gloves, wiping hands on their shirts, using their phones and right back to making pizza. And because of this, they had to cook it for a long time which made the cheese rock hard and burned, my kids had to pick off the burnt cheese to eat their slices.
