I have passed by this cute, small shopping center several times but have not noticed this Lenzini's pizza. Today was a pizza night at my house. This place has been around I believe for over 15 years. Where have I been?? I normally like to dine in but I was in a hurry and very hungry so I placed an order over the phone and went to pick it up. We got their large Margherita Pizza loaded with fresh ingredients: cheese, mushrooms, fresh tomato, basil and I added chicken to it to get some protein for an extra $3.50. We also got their Greek salad that came with healthy vegetables. They don't skimp out. You get great portions for the price that you pay. Last but not least, we got their wings w/out any sauce that came in 12 pieces. They have pizza, salads, wings, sides, beverages, white or pesto sauce with a multitude of toppings, sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and a lot more.. They even have fresh dessert, tiramisu, cookies etc.. Everything tasted fresh, hot and delicious! Crust was perfectly seasoned and very crisp. They make your order according to your specifications. Have thin and regular crust. Excellent service by all the employees and would love to give out a shout out to their manager. Sorry, forgot his name. I was very hungry. I don't know what they do, but the sauce is absolutely incredible. The customer service is always on-point. At this point I think I've been helped by most if not all of the employees there and they are all good communicators and polite. I even came in in a bad mood once, and the guy talked me down without realizing it. I don't know if they offer this, because I haven't asked, but I like to add honey to the pizza when I get home. First I do the packet of parmesean, then drizzle honey all over that bad boy, then sprinkle the hot chili flakes into the honey. Even if you don't add honey, the pizza is high quality dough, sauce, and cheese. Constructed with integrity, too. I even ordered a sandwich once. Some type of chicken sub... I don't remember exactly, but it was good. It's a small lobby area with comfortable chairs perfect to sit in and wait 5 or 10 minutes for your pizza. So sad I have to write this review, but this is the second time I had Lenzini's. Some of my neighbors ordered it for a get together before the pandemic and it was great. I decided to give it a second try and ordered a Medium, Veggie with added mozzarella/cheddar/feta/extra toppings with thin crust. The pizza arrived on time with no hiccups. When I opened the box I wasn't sure what to think. Seemed a bit flimsy. When I took my first bite I was extremely disappointed. The sauce was very watery which ended up making the crust super soggy. There was absolutely no thickness to the cheese and the taste was very bland. This will be my last time ordering pizza from here. Haha honestly, had I had done grocery shopping, I would have tossed this in the trash and made something more worth while. When I eat pizza it's a big treat due to all the bread (carbs). I felt these calories ingested weren't worth it. Bummer! Oh another thing upon closer examination. They put the toppings down first on the watery sauce then put pieces of cheese here and there. The pizzas arrived with double cheese and light sauce on both. There was so much cheese that it was sweet, overpowering, and GROSS. I want the extra sauce. As a human person paying with my money that I earn at my job, I deserve to get what I ordered and what I paid for. Is it a reading comprehension issue? I thought online ordering was the most efficient because your order is written out for the workers to read and re-read as necessary, to ensure that they get your order right. Is it laziness? Stupidity? Not giving a fig about customers or your job? Because this happens at the Domino's down the street too. The NoHo Lankershim Domino's CANNOT make a farking pizza with extra sauce. It is not in their wheelhouse. They have screwed up my pizzas for seven years. This is why I was ordering from Lenzini's in the first place: to see if they could complete the simple task, as presumably experienced pizza makers, of making a pizza with extra sauce. For that alone, they deserve five stars...but that's not all. We ordered nine different pizzas and one meatball sub. Everyone was super happy with their orders. I ordered a large meat lovers pizza. It was delicious! The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. The cheese was piping hot so I waited a couple minutes before taking a bite. The flavor was on point. A bit ago I ordered the meat lasagna, which came with garlic bread on the side and it was absolutely delicious. I was hesitant to try the pizza, but I tried the pizza today and it is amazing. Luckily one day, I stumbled upon this little gem. It was a hit! Everyone ordered what they wished and each one sang Lenzini's praises! The lasagna was a smash and reordered again swiftly. The pizza was divine. Pasta? Magnifique. I have yet to see this group agree on anything other than this place. During my off time, between study sessions, I decided to try it out for myself. This place is an unassuming little hole in the wall amongst the hubbub that is Lankershim. There is no shortage of pizzerias here, but I'm so glad I was tipped off to them initially. The staff was so kind, and helpful, and even offered me water in the sweltering heat. The food is very affordable, especially in this post-pandemic economy. There is no shortage of flavor here and it's not due to overly processed greases, either! This is a spot worth saving the menu. No regrets here! read more
