I have never written bad a yelp review in my life. However the customer service at this place was absolutely horrible. I was in the drive thru line for 1 hour waiting for my food. 6 cars who ordered after me received their food before me and all I had was two meals. After I told the employee I was missing a burger and two fries. He brought back just the burger. The attitude I received from the employees was insane. It seemed as if they did not want to do their job. Nor did they care to do their job. I am very understand when it comes to jobs in customer service however, I could not look past how horrible this experience was. read more

Sad to see the low ratings for this location and hopeful that it's just the team working out the kinks of a new shop. I've been a Whataburger fan for as long as I can remember and I'm excited to have one in Gilbert. The location is brand new so the building and property are nice and maintenance of both has been good so far. I typically use the app to place my order before arriving and haven't had any issues with timeliness or incorrect orders. Fingers, toes, eyes, arms, and legs all crossed that I haven't jinxed myself or others. There's truly nothing like a good Whataburger and their shakes are awesome too! read more

We had been watching Whataburger being built and finally decided to stop for lunch .we waited in line before we even got to the speaker box for a good 10 to 15 minutes then placed our order and that was about another 10 minute or so wait before we got to the window. So disappointed large fries barely warm ,two jalapeno cheeseburgers just thrown together and cold. There doesn't seem to be any organization. Two lines to order and then you have to jockey for position to get in line to pay. I should have turned around and gone back but by this time I was just so annoyed with the wait time. I'm only giving one star because I have to give them a star to leave a review. Honestly one of the slowest and worst locations I've been to. And I've been to whataburgers all over from Texas to here. If you think going inside is going to be any faster, think again. It took them 5 minutes for anyone to acknowledge my husband standing at the counter and nobody was in line outside and there was no one in front of him. Employees and leadership here clearly don't care. Half the time our food is thrown together or completely wrong. They also never give us picante sauce even though we ask. Absolutely abysmal service. The manager, Bryan, never does anything so I had to call the customer service line and corporate and they don't really ever do anything either. This is what the food looks like when you pull it out of the bag btw. I normally don't leave reviews, but the sheer number of times I have been made to wait 20-30 minutes in the drive though when I'm the only vehicle in the drive though is astonishing. This is one of the only places that is open 24-7 in my area, and I often get off work late, so there aren't many options available at that time. I always only order for one, but for some unknown reason a single patty burger often takes this location 20-30 minutes to make. I understand that food service is difficult, and you have to manage a lot of tasks, but where is the cut off? If it is a single occurrence I would understand that too, but it's every single time I come here. Whataburger, you need to do better. read more

We were so excited to finally have a Whataburger opened near our home. Since it's opening, I think this location @ Queen Creek and Gilbert has gotten our order correct once out of ten visits. Tonight brought another massive failure on the restaurant's part. I always order a #2, with cheese, everything on it, and add green chile. I got home to a plain #2 with green chile only. I finally decided to take the failure back to them. I spoke with the manager on duty, who seemed not very pleased to have to help me, and he grabbed my bag containing the wrong order. I AGAIN clearly, in layman's terms, explained what I wanted and had paid for 30 minutes earlier. After a short wait they brought my "correctly made" order to me. I drove back home, opened my fresh burger, and lo and behold!...it was made exactly the same. We're done. That Whataburger location sucks. read more

Visit from April 24th a regrettable experience. We waited a ridiculous length of time after ordering; drive thru seemed to be the main concern. Inexperienced management and irritable staff on a Sunday evening. Many people had missing items and / or incorrect orders ourselves included. Knowing the restaurant is newly opened understandably there is a degree of disorder but the disinterest in getting a customer soap as requested for the bathroom and the manger telling another customer "It is what it is" on top on the 100 percent cold food (like refrigerator cold) -bread included, that was served is not acceptable. read more

This is the second time we've tried Whataburger, at 2 diff locations. 1st time in Gilbert, it was really bad, this time... on Queen Creek Rd, it was ABSOLUTELY horrible service and miserably, incorrect, and disgusting food, only 1 order out of 5 was even close to being correct. All of the food was old, cold and bland. The Jr burgers were loaded with onions, lettuce, mustard and tomatoes. We asked nicely that they leave all of that off and add catsup, needless to say our grandchildren would not eat any of the burgers, but choked down the ancient, ice cold fries!! My burger could have been used to patch a blacktop road!! To add insult to injury not a single napkin!! This all cost us $36!!! SAVE YOUR money, go to ANY "In and Out Burger" or for that matter "McDonalds" (and we all know McDs is just sad)!!! Went back to give it another try. Got the patty melt and southern bacon burger. Not at all a Texas style meal. I go to Whataburger in dallas all.the time. Very good food. Its obvious this owner does not share the same passion as those in texas. Burger patties were dry and over cooked on both. Fries were good. One of 2 things are going to happen. Yay, it's finally open! Of course my whole family had to stop in the first day they opened! Even though they were already super busy, everything was organized and the employees were soooo nice and friendly. We had at least 4 people greet us - super nice! We used to drive all the way to the Whataburger on Chandler/I-10 before this opened (we are kind of whataburger experts haha)...and I can tell you this location's food seemed so much better and more fresh. Even our kids noticed and said, "this is even better than the other one we always go to!"...and "this is better than In & Out Burger!" I have a feeling this location is always going to be busy so as long as they keep up the great work and can handle the future long drive thru lines, we give this location a 10 out of 10...and will be there every week! : ) read more

Just terrible - I have been here multiple times thinking it will improve. I'm from Texas and have always been a Wataburger fan. This place is a disappointment to say the least. And sorry to say, it's the employees. Seems to be high turnover, if you keep your eye on any particular one you will see that they do not change their "food handling" gloves while multi tasking. I was SO EXCITED to see this open! I remember Whataburger back in the day and it was so good! Was kind of disappointed on the quality on the food now. It was meh...not terrible but not as good as I remembered it. Service was meh... you could tell the manager and staff was really really overwhelmed. There were a lot of pissed off customers ahead of us. Luckily, our food came out pretty fast...even ahead of people that ordered before us. Hopefully, you guys can take everyone's feedback and improve OR Whataburger could go out of business forever. read more

Not sure how the service is so slow. The setup allows them to take a lot of orders but I'm always waiting 15-20 for a simple order. The double drive through can't make up for lazy employees and inefficient processes. The food isn't even that good and I have no idea what takes so long. We have been back maybe 4 more times only thru the drive thru since my original review. Things have really gone down hill. Yikes. The drive thru people do not look like they want to be there. They are not very friendly and have big mad faces. I went to a Gilbert location a few weeks ago and the employees seemed a little happier to be there. Multiple times this location has been out of menu items (white chocolate raspberry milkshake and even avo burger). We were there last night and they have 2 lanes for the drive thru. Unfortunately we chose the far lane, the one without the window. Dont use this lane, no matter how long the window lane is. They will delay taking your order and completely ignore you. Last night they took our order after 3 cars went through on the window side and then we waited 3 more cars before someone actually acknowledged we were even there. I made eye contact with the sour faced dark haired window girl and the car attendant went past us at least 4 times, completely ignoring us. The other drivers in the window side of the drive thru kept looking at us wondering why we were still sitting there. I'm sure it must have been uncomfortable that I was continually staring at the unhappy window employee. After stupidly waiting at least 15 minutes (seriously) we just left. My boys were a bit disappointed but there is no reason for this type of experience to happen. So, with so many choices of restaurants in close proximity both north and south, this will be our last poor experience at whattaburger. The food just isnt worth being served by such unhappy and unfriendly people. Its really just not that good. read more

They ought to call this place "What a Joke". Heard all of the talk about how great their burgers are, or how they use the best meat. Well guess what? They opened about a year ago like 2 miles from my house, so i finally went to try it today. Got there about 1:00 pm on Sunday, nobody inside the place anywhere? I ordered 3 plain double cheeseburgers and he asked me if i want a meal with it. Little did i know he rang up a meal for all 3 burgers, so he handed me 3 large cups. While i was the first one in line, about 30 people poured into the place behind me. I finished my $31 order for 3 cheeseburgers and went and sat down. One by one i watched these people bring out meals for all 9 tables that were behind me in line but no food for me. I was now the only person in the place not eating 15 minutes after i had ordered. They must have pushed out about 4 dozen burgers to the 9 tables that ordered behind me, but my order was no where to be found??? I waited another full 5 minutes and still no food 20 minutes after i had ordered it. So i just got up and walked out the door without my $31 of food i still didn't have, and said to the cashier as i walked by him you should change your name to "What a Joke" instead. Seems like every time I set foot in a restaurant the service is worse than the time before. The Popeyes chicken up the road a mile is constantly out of everything you try ordering, including chicken. Turns out everyone working there just tells every customer in the drive thru that they are out of everything. At this point, i am seriously considering never setting foot in any restaurant and only eating what i cook myself at home. Its much cheaper (considering 3 cheeseburgers are $31.00), its always done right, and i don't get treated like crap.. read more

We have been to this Whataburger multiple times and had exceptional service, it was clean, and the employees friendly. Tonight was a different story. Every single table was dirty several people were asking for the tables to be cleaned. The employee who was on his lunch hour got up and cleaned one of the tables. My husband cleaned our table. When I needed help with the receipt standing at the register by myself waiting for one of the employees who made eye contact with me from the back, no one came to the front register. So I decided to get their attention that I would walk into the doorway of the kitchen and finally told one of the employees I need your help. I walked back to the register and one of the employees came out and told me that I could not do that and not come to back into the kitchen. So my response would be, when you make eye contact with a customer who is standing at the register clearly you should go out and help them. We'll be back but only Monday through Friday when I know that the manager is there watching things. read more
