On our way to see a Royals baseball game and had to try the Whataburger. I had their Whataburger and fries with their hot ketchup. My wife had a Whataburger and my daughter had the chicken fingers. The food was good however, o could not believe how slow the drive through was. With only one person ahead of us it took about 10 minutes. Overall it was good and we will return when we are back in Kansas City. I battled between 3 and 4 stars. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and rated them 4 stars. read more

After looking at the menu I couldn't really decide on what to get until I saw the new hot honey crisp whatachickn sandwich. It comes with a piece of crispy chicken, soft potato bun, and this cheesy pimento sauce. I had them add tomato, lettuce and grilled onions for no extra charge. I tell you what, my taste buds exploded with delicious flavor! Every bite was heaven. The chicken was moist, the bun was soft, the grill onions were on point, the veges were fresh and I'm not sure what is pimento but man, was it good. Everything just tasted amazing. This place is absolutely worth the hype in my opinion (which is the best ;) once I took my first bite into those tight juicy buns, I about exploded (pause) with unbelievable bliss as waves of food passion washed through me! The staff helped drive my experience and excitement of my food to levels I did not know existed! Now I didn't get to have a night cap with my food inside the establishment (we opted for car stuff) but the exterior was quite nice! 1000/10 recommend! 4 stars because im from texas where this originated and believe me when i say you cant find edible whataburger down there anymore. This location is (usually) clean but sometimes they get really busy like around lunch time. The bathroom is small. one person only in men/women so it can create a back up during lunch rush. Food is good. Spicy chicken sandwich is amazing. Staff could do a little better is my complaint. they always seem to leave one or two things off the order and you have to go back up. another employee a young man is very sarcastic and short with customers. Love the food but disappointed with the service at this location. Went through the drive through and the girl on the speaker (had purple hair) was very short and kept sighing. She definitely sounded like she didn't want to be there. We ended up having to go inside because the order was wrong... probably because she couldn't hear us over herself sighing! Alrighty, soooo.... what you need to know is this. Your burger patty will at most be 1/4th of your sandwich. They all come with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, and mustard. I got mine with no onions cause I'm not a fan of them to begin with. We came here cause they just opened up and we had never eaten there before so, adventure, I guess? We also got the banana pudding and a chocolate milkshake. The breakdown is as follows: The burgers are nothing to write home about, I prefer a BURGER, and the small flat patty never does it for me and the burgers tasted like their individual ingredients and outside texture you wouldn't even notice the meat itself. The shakes were either chocolate syrup flavored (chocolate) or caramel toffee circus peanut flavored (banana pudding, and yeah, I know .. I just broke the proverbial glass there, and I'm not sorry). The service was good, order and sit, they bring it out. The fries were nicely salted but nothing special in themselves, and the only real oddity was the "spicy" ketchup, which was also nothing to write home about. The place was about what you would expect from a fast food restaurant in terms of noise and ambiance, so it's not horrible. Had to try Whataburger and did go to the Barry Road location right after they opened. We liked it but not super blown away like some were saying. It was a good burger, very filling and fries were, okay. But when they opened this location, it is so close, we had to try again. I went in to order to-go burgers and fries. There was a lovely lady at the counter and the food came out fast. The store was clean and well stocked. Burgers were good and the fries, just okay. I will be a return customer if for no other reason, that it's so close and good...but not awesome. The open 24 hours is something to keep in mind, too. read more

I will say that I wasn't a huge fan of Whataburger once they switched from a Texan operation to one out of state. The food quality began to decline. Now that I'm out of state and at a new state, for some reason, the food is delicious here. The burgers are always tasty and not bland. Their promotional burgers are delicious as well. Really the best in the area. I think the fries are amazing too. Dom is the best employee they have there- he's personable and always cheery. I've been told the food is amazing here. First time ever eating a whataburger. It was clean inside but I believe it's only because it's brand new. It's super loud and not a lot of tables to sit at. We ordered for 5 people. Kid's grilled cheese is good. Hamburgers and cheeseburgers are decent. The fries suck. Our fries where so salty that they where not eatable. The table next to us agreed and had asked for no salt on there's but they had them loaded with it to. We had an incorrect order and it took multiple attempts to fix it. It was delivered at 8,:30am the next day. Grub Hub did the delivery I have been a die-hard customer since 1981. As a Winter Texan, Whataburger was a weekly, some times more, menu choice. The food cold at delivery, milkshake melted and rings inedible. The store took no responsibility after the cash register rang up the sale. National customer service denied my request for a refund. I have eaten at the Barry Road many times so I know what this restaurant is capable in preparation of a meal. Their employees can meet any need to the point of being over-bearing. I hate to be that guy as I very much like Whataburger, but tonight was definitely sub-par. I ordered 2 meals online for curbside pickup. Once I arrived I entered in the pickup spot i parked in and waited. After waiting for 15 minutes, I decided to go inside where I was informed that my order wasn't ready. I received my order 20 minutes after it was scheduled to be ready and took it home. One of the burgers I ordered was great, the other was missing the cheese (upcharge) and the ketchup and mustard. This was definitely a disappointment, especially since I was the only curbside pickup order the entire 20 minutes that I was there. If the store had been more busy, maybe I could understand, but it simply wasn't. Came to this whataburger late this evening, friday the 12th, looking for something to eat because i was so so so so hungry. spent 26$ for an extremely horrible meal. 1. The person at the drive thru was very rude, i understand it's late at night. But put some pep in your step girl. 2. I asked for ketchup on my first burger which was not given. 2. My second burger was inedible.
