Their portions are BIG for a small set, the hamburger was the size of my palm. I would say if you're used to MCD large then I would order a small if you can eat well. If you're a light eater, you will not be able to finish the small combo. What I appreciated is the price is worth the size and quality of the meal. The hamburger tasted pretty average, it gets the job done but nothing special. What put me off was there was too much mustard on the burger. The combo comes with a choice of sauce. They have a large selection about 9 sauces? I tried the original gravy sauce which was very bland and watered done pepper gravy. Their spicy ketchup wasn't that spicy but will give you mild kick. They were busy obviously, so I had some patience. after getting to the window they asked us to park and we proceeded to wait ONE HOUR for our food, and half our food was missing. Another 20 minutes of waiting later, we finally get the rest of the food. Mind you cars that ordered after us got their food bags before we did. we got two sandwiches...like come on. "Whataburger Whatabummer" Last night I decided to go to the new Whataburger that recently opened near me. Restaurant 1571 at 3301 W. Peoria Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029. I pulled into the drive thru around 9:35 PM, I was happy to see that there were only 2 cars ahead of me. I got to the drive thru menu and placed my order at 9:45 PM. They have 2 drive thru lanes, one near the drive thru pick up window and the other to the right of the lane closest to the drive thru window. Whatwasteoftime, after about 35 minutes of waiting for my order and watching the car that ordered after me get their food in the drive thru lane closest to the drive thru pick up window, one of the staff came out and brought me my order. The order they brought out to me only had half of the order, so I had to yell out my window that my order was missing half the items I ordered. Before the staff gave me my order, he repeated what my order was and gave me the items. I told the staff Whatapart of my order that was repeated several times when the order was made did they not get correct??? The staff apologized and went back in to get the other half of my order that was missing. I finally got all of my items and left the drive thru at 10:20 PM. I get home to find that one of the burgers had onions "on top" of the bun and no onions were clearly requested for that burger. Also the buns on both burgers were in poor condition as the buns were falling apart as we were eating the burgers. Whatabadexperience, I Whatahad a better time going to the Mcdonalds 2 stores down if I Whataknown it was going to take almost 40 minutes for them to get my order wrong and the items in my order were cold and not fresh. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. My wife and I oedered the #26 biscuits and gravy breakfast. When we got our order we added some salt and pepper to our liking. However when started eating, our food was warm but not hot. We looked at each other and both had the same reaction. Surprise. I called Dayanna who took our order as she was also the day manager. She came over and we told her about out food. But that we would keep it as we had already seasoned it. She apologized and offered to replace our order and thanked us for letting her know. This a the slowest "fast food" restaurant I've ever been to... been waiting 10 min for a burger and wings literally watched 5 people that came after me get their food and when I went in to get a refund there was literally 15 people working in the kitchen but nobody knew where my order was. They are also hit or miss when it comes to the food, half the time it's cold and dry. The other half it's awesome like it should be, one time they gave me a green chili burger. When we went inside none of the boy workers were listening to the lady manager and the other male manager were was messing around and was not doing his job. We also saw him outside smoking as we waited instead of helping during the rush. Guess what? We still had to wait another 15 minutes for them to start making the burger once we went inside. We got there at 11:55 and didn't leave until 1:05. Honestly everything about this experience was ridiculous. I was a first time whataburger customer and I am actually disappointed. Corporate will get the next review because that is ridiculous. I visited on June 12th and didn't leave for a whole hour. 1 burger and 1 drink. Don't visit this place it was dirty as well and unkept. I love Whataburger, but this is by far the worst experience I've ever had at one. It might just be in my top three worst fast food experiences of all time. I took my family to this location yesterday at around 6 PM. My wife and I both ordered the same thing: A Hatch Green Chili Bacon Burger. But we wanted it with cheese, and with only one patty (instead of the two it comes with). The gal at the register thought we wanted a junior size burger, and I had to explain to her that we want a regular size one, but with just one patty, not two. We took our number and sat down. It took over 10 minutes before we finally got our food. The fries were not hot anymore, and the he burgers looked like they'd been sitting for a bit. Also, neither burger had bacon or cheese on them. I sent them back to add the bacon and cheese. They came back and only one had bacon added, but neither one had cheese. I sent them back again and when they came back they had added cheese to the one with bacon, and the other one didn't have bacon or cheese added still! I was about to send the one back a third time, but my wife decided she would just have the one without bacon or cheese. I gave her one strip of bacon off of mine. At this point I realized that we'd never been given the Dr. Pepper shake my daughter had ordered. So I had to go back to the counter again to ask for that. Absolutely awful experience! First Whataburger experience. We loved it! It definitely helped that we were very hungry after exploring the trails in Sedona. Great service in the drive thru - very patient and generous with sauces! We got two meals - the jalapeño burger and the patty melt meals and substituted the drink for shakes (treat yo self! Amirite?) so so good and with no upcharge! Would love to come back here. This place has been on our list to visit when we're in a state that has one. We were lucky to have one near our hotel. Many of our friends have mentioned this place and we finally made it here! Here is what we had: Mushroom Swiss burger, patty melt, triple patty burger and a double patty burger. Consensus, all the burgers were definitely greasier than your norm. This may or may not be good thing depending on who you ask. I don't mind a greasy burger but when majority of your bun looks grease soaked then I have an issue with that. The patty melt was probably the best out of the 4. Patty was well seasoned and the bread was not soaked in grease. Needless to say, the 3 of us who had the burgers paid a nice long visit to the restroom. We are willing to try other things on the menu. So maybe we'll have to do a stop here before leaving. read more

I am Texas born and raised and down there, Whataburger is as big as Friday night high school football. It's where you meet after a football game. In fact, they are in every corner just like McDonalds is here. Call it nostalgia but whataburger is probably my favorite fast food joint. And yes I have tried five guys, In-N- out, and the habit to name a few but for me, nothing beats whataburger; it's called personal preference people, we all have ours. The best thing about whataburger though is their customer service. We were there just before 11:00 pm the other night looking for buttery chicken biscuits and they weren't supposed start making them for at least another half hour because they are considered a breakfast item. They were nice enough to start cooking them early for us though. It took a while because they had to start up their equipment but we didn't mind. The fact that a bunch of teenagers went out of their way to accommodate us speaks volumes of the southern hospitality that whataburger presents. More businesses need to learn from them. The whole paying extra for the ranch still ticks me off though and their kids meal still sucks pineapples. read more

I used to work at this location in my teen years and I'm happy to see that it's still around! The staff is always friendly and helpful. Their dining area is usually clean but it is small and gets crowded fast. Their bathrooms are clean and well kept. There's also plenty of parking. My drive thru experiences have been well. There can be long wait times depending on the time of day or what you order. The only issues I've had with drive thru is not getting the sauce we asked for. Dining experiences have been well too! Except they've gotten our order wrong many times. We either get someone else's order or items missing. But they always help in getting the order fixed. Their food in my opinion is good! It's your regular fast food burgers, chicken sandwiches, and chicken tenders. My personal favorite is the chicken tenders with gravy or the bacon and cheese whataburger! read more
