Coffee is good. Pastries and cakes are good but selection never changes much. Prices are top tier. $4.35 for a cup of coffee. I mean is this $1+ better than Peet's? Of course not. One thing to watch out for is spilling coffee on yourself because they use cheap cups and lids that do not fit right. I've spilled coffee or dripped coffee on myself so many times. Ordered a medium pumpkin spice latte and a regular latte and a pastry. The latte came out in minutes but they never called out the order so it sat there for about 10min and got cold. We had to ask for our pastry and when they gave us the box, it had a croissant so we had to ask for the right oder. Waited a full 25min for the pumpkin latte and they gave me a small regular latte. This place is trash. Sure people were nice but what a terrible experience. So much so we told people walking in not to waste their time. This is a nice cute cafe near SCU. However, there are some things that can be worked on. Some things in the cafe seems experimental like the brunch option they have. There is a section in the cafe that is exclusively for those coming in for brunch, but it is close to the non-brunch tables. The amount of tables are ok, but not entirely study friendly for big groups. If it is for 1 or 2 people, it is doable. However, the staff were nice, but seem extremely busy. I had their coconut latte. It was refreshing. Got a slice of their berry cake. It was ok, but it was pretty dry and pricey. Overall, will pop in if I am in the area. read more

They are still very new, so not every employee was aware of the menu. Customer service was 10/10 they were attentive. The croissants are delicious, flaky, crispy, buttery, so good! My only complaint, the coffee is just ok and overpriced for what you get. I got a small iced latte and that cost $7. Mixed first experience. Coffee & almond croissant were tasty. Cashier friendly. However, some things need improvement. I asked to have coffee in my own cup - gave them cup without lid. When coffee arrived - it was in disposable cup. I asked where my cup was. She seemed confused. She asked if I wanted water in it. I said no, like I explained, I want my coffee in it. I ordered their Breakfast Croissant (which comes with egg of your choice, bacon, and avocado), a Chocolate Creme donut, and a Iced Tea. The service was amazing, the kind lady who took my order was very keen on providing good service and letting me ask questions. The place was basically empty with only about 5 other people besides myself, with nice music to fit the vibe of the shop. To be honest, I'm not that much of an egg person, but this coffee shop changed my perspective on the food I like and dislike. Croissant was cooked perfectly, same with the eggs. The avocado was fresh, which is rare to say with the local places around here. The tea was very natural which I enjoyed. It's so amazing to have a good local coffee shop close to where I commute every morning. My only wish is if they could open at 7:00 on weekdays so I can get an early start on my commute, and if they could sell gift cards that I can give to my close friends and family. I rarely do reviews but I just didn't have a good experience here today. I was in from 9-10:15am and for one, the drink I got wasn't what I had ordered. I received a hot latte but had ordered an iced latte w/ macadamia nut syrup. I didn't say anything to the barista when he brought it to me because I would've felt bad for having him make it again. But it wasn't busy when I was there so idk what happened with confusing my order. I also feel like the barista could've been a bit more welcoming and enthusiastic with customers. I happened to see a post about Whatcoffee on Instagram and the best part is, it's about a mile from me. My husband I stopped by during their soft opening weekend...and I managed to come back 2 more times the same week... To my surprise, they had a lot of pastries to pick from - baked in house and a simple drink menu. Visit 1 - iced coconut latte: perfect balance, would order again - hot mocha: hubby thought it was too sweet, but he still liked it - almond croissant: delicious, definitely would get again as I love almond croissants Visit 2 - I saw they had a pistachio croissant posted on Instagram and had to make a stop before work. I also got a butterfly pea tea lemonade (they also posted about this). Steven took my order that morning and he is awesome! Great customer service, made sure i was happy with my drink. As for the pistachio croissant, delicious- yet i wish they had more of the spread inside because I was left wanting more of it. Visit 3 - no drinks ordered, but came back for the pistachio croissant :) Overall, Whatcoffee is a beautiful space and will be back again to try all the other yummy pastries and drinks. The pastries were SO GOOD! We got the pistachio croissant (8.5/10) and cinnamon roll (9/10). and the cashier was so sweet, we got an extra pastry as they were closing. You definitely should get the pasties warmed up. The outside is crisp with the inside being rich and flavorful. read more

A fresh, new cafe is here! Upon entering, the scent of coffee and pastries is so dulcet and welcoming--where the pastries are beautifully displayed. There's a lot of seating available indoors and outdoors; though, indoors can be quite cramped on busy days. Sunday mornings are a part of those busy days! Seriously, get ready to wait and exercise your patience during a rush! I would recommend to come earlier than 9:30AM to avoid the rush since the drinks take a minimum of 30 minutes to be made after ordering (at least that was the case for me). I ordered at 9:44AM and got my drink at 10:07AM! While ordering, not every pastry is labeled so you would have to inquire the staff as to which is which, but the staff who took my order was also unsure... Perhaps they can benefit from more training or each pastry can be labeled properly! On the topic of staff, I had to inquire how I'd know if my order is ready since I wasn't told a number or given a receipt etc... Overall the staff would benefit from more readiness or training. Luckily, the coffee tasted amazing. I had the iced coconut latte, where the espresso was flavourful and well balanced with the milk. Was it worth waiting 30+ minutes though? Nope! Stopped by for the soft opening. Grand opening in a weekend, I believe? Atmosphere was great, good amount of tables inside perfect for studying or hanging out with friends. Patio seating available outside with similar relaxed vibe. I was told all baked goods are made in-house, and was super impressed with the croissants especially. Flaky, baked to the perfect amount of buttery goodness, and with several flavors available-- chocolate hazelnut, pistachio crème, and almond when we visited! Entrance is inconspicuous but nice seating area with interesting and beautiful light fixtures. Was busy around 9:30 and person taking order was a bit distracted. Everything was fresh and tasty. Only downside was someone forgot to put the almond croissant in the box so we only received two of three bakery items and found out an hour later. 11/11 follow-up. Stephen reach out to me a day after and offered a replacement croissant and a coffee of my choice. Both were delicious and I purchased a chocolate croissant which was equally delicious. Amazing! There is sometimes a line around the corner for a good reason. They have wonderful indoor and outdoor seating. The food is fresh and everything that we had over the course of two meals was fantastic. Highly recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice and the burritos. Lots of different healthy organic options that were all delicious. Omelette was made with fresh ingredients and meat. I've tried this place multiple times and this place disappoints me, especially with the prices they charge we all have higher expectations. I am a matcha lover and will always order a matcha latte at every coffee/tea shop. I heard that the matcha they use is high quality and expensive, hence the price. But it doesn't matter what quality matcha you have if the baristas do not know how to properly prepare it. One thing that irks me is when you can see the matcha powder at the bottom of the cup and that is what always happens here. I've also tried their sparkling fruit drink, reccomended by the worker and that was not my favorite. For $7 they mixed fruit juice and sparkling water. The americano was okay, no impression on that. The customer service is hit or miss, on busy days it can be a hot mess, workers here tend to tell you that you're wrong when you haven't received your order even when you show your receipt. Instead of quickly making your order they tell you that your order already came out. What can you do at that point? Leave with no drink and call your bank? How annoying. Anyways, this place is a mediocre coffee shop, there are many other places within a mile radius that serve better quality coffee and drinks. The place is cute and has good seating but I will probably not go back. I would rather go to 1 oz or voyager! read more
