Tucked into the corner beside CVS Pharmacy, I drove by September Coffee several times before I managed to find it. While the new shop's sign hadn't gone up yet, the shop felt like a spot for customers to make themselves at home. I was in the mood for a boba drink and I asked for a Thai Brulée with Boba, but I was told that the honey boba had run out for the day. So I ordered a Tiramisu Green Milk Tea instead. It wasn't long before my drink was ready to pick up and enjoy. My drink came in Tan-Cha cup, and I took a sip. The cheese cream was thick and luscious and the cocoa dust tickled my throat, capturing the essence of tiramisu very well. The green tea hinted at smooth, green matcha, but the sugar in the drink tilted the drink toward the sweet side. The sweetness crowded out the subtle matcha flavors more than I would have liked. Overall, not bad for a first drink. September Coffee has potential, and the first impressions for drinks could be better. I had the matcha brulee and my gosh, it was an absolute banger. The matcha in itself was very aromatic, earthy, and when infused with the brulee made this one of the most complete tasting drinks I've had. The sugar level I had wasn't overly sweet which is perfect because when mixed in the brulee, it added a sweeter element to the drink itself. Overall, very solid place for drinks! It's a strawberry slushy with cheese foam at the top. I added lychee jelly to make it a bit sweeter, which I am glad I did. The strawberry slushy part lacked much flavor and tasted more like ice. I really did not enjoy my experience at the Cupertino store, but I've been to this Tan-Cha location a few times now and my experiences have been very inconsistent. The brown sugar milk tea, lightly sweetened, is my usual drink of choice. But every time I've ordered it, it tastes different than the last. Not sure what is going on or if it just ranges from how each barista makes it. The service here is also hit or miss. I've met some really nice baristas who are friendly and I can get my drink within a few minutes, but my last trip here I felt like the person who took my order was already annoyed and it took over 15 minutes for me to get my drink.
