I went there with my corolla on Monday March 19. On my car, the rear wheels were newer but different than the ones in the front. Couple days earlier I tried to have the tires changed at Costco. The Costco guy advised that the rear tires were in good shape and there was no need for them to be changed. However, it was Saturday after 5 and he said he can't do the front tires for me, asked me to come another day, preferably some weekday as they are very busy on weekend. But I work on weekdays, and I am not near any Costco, so decided to give these guys a shot. On Monday, I want there and the "slick talking" Marco tries to sell me some performance tires. Luckily I had done my research online prior walking into the store, and told him what I wanted. So he budged. But then, he told me the hell will break loose unless I change all my tires, despite the rear pair being newer and having a thread quite deep. Not knowing any better, I accepted. He said he would order the tires for me, to come the next day to have them installed. When I asked how long I should expect to the installation to last, he said "they are generally done in an hour, but to be on the safe side, I should be ready to spend up to 90 minutes." So, come March 20th, I roll in at exactly the time I was told. They take the car in couple minutes, and disappear. 2.5 hours later, the car is still nowhere to be seen. About to lose my job, I asked him about the car. The manager (Marco) answered it should roll out any moment now. 1/2 hour later, I am going crazy. I ask for the car, and shamelessly, he offers me a ride. This is when I was about to lose it, luckily I kept it under control. So, I asked to pay the rest of the bill, before I even got the car. I had the earlier estimate inside the car, but I remember roughly what it was. The invoice he asked me to pay was $60 more than the original estimate he gave me. When I asked why it was like this, he said he added lifetime balancing and road hazard (which I did not ask for). I asked him to remove those, paid the rest, and started waiting for the car to arrive from the shop. Shortly afterwards, my mechanic, who also happened to be a friend, told me it was very dishonest of them to make me change the rear tires, as they were in really good shape (same as what the Costco guy said). But I am not surprised at all. In fact, while sitting there (and I sat there quite a bit), I witnessed many attempts of using scare tactics to sell things to their customers they perhaps do not need. Don't go here if you need repair work done. Was in and out of this place about 4 times for my check engine light. Paid $200+ bucks for them to replace some monitoring system for leaks only to have the check engine light come back on and after getting fed up and bringing my car to a dealership instead, I found out they didnt even replace the part and so now I have to pay for it again. read more

Contrary to some previous reviews (as seen on Google), this shop does NOT do "without purchase" free tire rotations. Like most other shops, they only do tire rotations with purchase of tires. Unfortunately, I got my tires at an independent shop (with this same policy) back in Fresno, and had no tools of my own for the rotation nor money to do it (I'm still financially recovering from, well... Fresno). In light of this, they were cool enough to do it for free. Can't beat that, though making it a "first come, first served" number of free tire rotations each day would be a good promotion, I think! Good guys and good service. :) read more

I went there for a brand new tires and an alignment on 7/21/2015. Peter was very helpful over the phone. I arrived there around 6pm good customer service but need a little more improvement. So i decided to go watch my car when they are working on it. Normally in other work place they will make you wait in the waiting room and dont have any clue on what are they doing with your car. Anyway I was surprise with Sean, he was very helpful and listen to what I requested. he gave me pointers and really took the time with my car. I didnt know how they going to take my car due to my suspension is low. Reason why im not giving them a 5 star. Is that there we a confusion which rims should go in my car. I'll def come back get my car work on by SEAN. Hope I spell his name correct. If not forgive me. Keep up the good work and I know how other customers can be an ass. Very dissatisfied with them for auto repair, tires are ok but diagnosis is terrible. They messed me around with changing sensors since that didn't fix a rough idle they played with another guess and changed the fuel injectors $2000 later. Rough idle still there. Then well it must be the heads. These guys fix a car like they playing Pin The tail on the donkey. All the repairs they did were unnecessary. read more

Seriously, this location has completely unprofessional and incompetent management staff. The communication was piss-poor and the follow-thru was worse. Read this if you are considering doing business with this location even though they only have 2.5 stars...we should have Yelped them first!! Sunday: Found the tires we needed online & the website said this location had them in stock. The total came to $742. I booked an online appointment for Monday @ 12pm. Monday: I got a call in the morning saying that the back tires were in fact, not in stock, but would be ordered and would arrive on Thursday. I was told to come in Thursday @ 12pm. I arrive Thursday @ 12pm to be told that the back tires hadn't arrived and that I could take a seat and wait "a few hours". (WHAT?!) When I ask why no one called me he responded "I guess I could have done that" (Umm, yeah ya think?!) So I tell him I'm on my hour long lunch break and that I have to get back. He responds "Well it takes us 2 hours to change tires" (haha-WHAT?! It takes America's Tire Co. 45 minutes when they're busy and there was no one else at Wheel Works waiting). I said "Forget it send the tires to a store closer to my house so I can go this weekend when I have 'hours' to sit around and wait". He said "You'll have to call and do that yourself". I told him "Wow, ok, well I'm definitely going to have to Yelp about this experience." All of a sudden he was really accommodating, LOL. He offered me a free rental car so that I could go back to work while they waited for and installed my tires. Then he gives me an invoice for $1019. (WHAT?!) I presented a printed copy of the online price and the guy changes the price by hand (WTH apparently the pricing is flea market style!) Enterprise picks me up @ 12:30pm and my "free" rental car requires a $100 holding fee that will be refunded in 24-48 hours after returning the car (Ugh! Does that qualify as 'free' if I have to pay for it and get refunded?) I get a call at 3pm stating that my tires are arriving at 3:15pm and that my car will be ready by 5:30pm. At 5:08PM I get a voicemail stating that my tires arrived at 3:15pm in SACRAMENTO not Milpitas and that my car would be locked up in their garage overnight until my tires could be sent the next day. I called back and said ABSOLUTELY not, take my car out of your garage I'm picking up my car and taking it somewhere else. So after I return the rental (thanks for that unexpected extra hassle Wheel Works), my husband and I pull up to WW to see two employees smoking out front staring at the car. When they see us, one guy takes off like a cockroach and the other one looks dumbfounded. My husband asks for the keys and this guy says that they put the front tires on already and we have to pay for those first. OMG!! I told them to take them off NOW and that we would NOT be paying for anything. No one ever contacted me to tell me the tires hadn't arrived and asked if they could put on the fronts. C'mon man, that's just shystie business!! Un-freaking-believable!! I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and it turns out the guy that botched everything WAS THE MANAGER - Tony. I've called the corporate office already and as I promised...here's my Yelp review. This is a 100% honest recount of today's situation. Seriously, America's Tire Co. is 100% better, go there instead people. I did show up first thing in the morning when they opened, and they were able to squeeze me in to replace my two front tires, one of which had a nail. Since I had to wait on site, they also arranged to have my car completed by 2pm. They actually completed this earlier than promised. I totally appreciate the accommodations since we had a late afternoon event! Also the Bridgestone tires they put on look like they are much better quality than the ones they replaced. read more

Horrible!! went to get wheel bearing replaced and i had them do an oil change as well. After waiting 3 hours they told me there may be a little bit of smoke but it will just be the oil burning off. I drove 3 miles to pick up my daugher from school. I had to pull over because the car was smoking like crazy. popped the hood to find that they forgot to put the cap back on after the oil change. i took it backt ot them and they cleaned up the mess. 2 days after this my car started making a squealing noise.. whenit starts and as i drive it. i took it back to them thinking they caused the problem. now they are saying the alternator needs to be replaced. i called my cars manufacturer and they said wheelworks needs to take care of it because the oil may have caused the problem. oil was everywhere. i spoke with wheelworks manager, bay area district manager, main district manager and they all cant seem to help me out. HORRIBLE. never again going here or recommending this to anyone. worst part is when i went back one of the courtesy techs or front office guy said that he has forgotton to put the cap back on after an oil change plenty of times.. wow!!! message me if something like this has happened to you. thanks for reading! read more

I have had a couple of bad experiences at this place. Recently I had a flat and had them fix it. They took the tyre off the spare, and confirmed pickup for the next day. Took them several hours longer than promised, and I had to come back the following day, to pick it. They left a small leak in and tyre loses pressure in about 10 days. I took it back to have them fix it. Now they refuse to even take off the tyre (and put the spare on), without waiting for 2 hours in line. When I said I will come back in an hour -- the response was that you will loose your spot in line, unless you leave the car here. I tried to reason with the manager, but he acted completely stubborn, and refused to be co-operative, with the comment "this is how we operate". I had taken my previous car there for another flat a year and half ago. They displayed another example of customer dis-service -- took forever to "attempt to fix" the tyre, and after several days said that tyre cant be repaired and has to be replaced. I regret having gone back there, and certainly will not visit this location in future. They dont respect customer's time, and have poor quality of work. read more

I have been taking my car to the Milpitas Wheel Works for the past few years for stuff like tire change, oil change, repairs, and today battery change. My last review was two years ago and each time the Wheel Works guys at the Milpitas have done a great job that I feel I should give the them another thumbs-up. Today, I was there knowing that my car battery was weak and they gave me a copy of my battery test result before recommending a battery change. The folks here are honest and they do their job right and efficiently, and the price is reasonable. read more

APOCALYPTIC: IF ALL THE AUTO SHOPS CLOSE IN CALIFORNIA AND THIS IS THE ONLY AUTO SHOP LEFT THAN STILL I WILL NOT GO THERE. Nothing is as bad as waking on Sunday morning ready for a beach day and find yourself with a flat tire. And it gets worst if you go to a Wheel Works "Con shop" (in Milpitas, CA) where they try to rip you after 6 hours of wait to fix a flat tire by trying to upsale you with a new tire. I reached there 9:15 A.M. for the first ever visit and unfortunately did not bothered to check there reviews as it was simple flat tire job. First I had to wait 40 minutes which the front desk guy took to service just two people ahead of me. After that as soon as he saw my tire which is just a year old and not even looking at the nail said Oh this looks really bad and u may need to replace the tire. When I said seriously What's wrong with it has just one nail then he said I will have to send it to shop to see I how bad it is. I filled up the paperwork and he said I will call you in next 2 hours if we need to replace else it should be ready by 2PM and we will call you to pick it up. I waited till 2:30P.M. and no call. I called them and he said Ok let me chec wth the shop on what's the status and will call back to you in 10 minutes. It was after 3P.M. and no call. I called again and asked what is the status, he put me on hold for 5 minutes and said the tire is bad and it need to be replaced. I said why it took you over 6 hours on a Sunday afternoon when many shops close early and only after 2 calls for me. No answer and just said I can still replace the tire. I went and picked up the tire drove to Kings tire and wheels (Santa Clara, CA) which closes at 4 P.M. and the excellent guys there fixed it literally in less than 5 minutes. They never explained to me that in order for the tire warranty to remain in effect, I HAD TO get the tires rotated with them, no one else! This is the worst experience ever I have in a car shop. Giving 1 star for this does not even justify it. My son dropped off my 2003 BMW 530i there just to do simple tire rotation last Fri. It's approximately 1.5 miles from home. Checked in around 10 am and picked up around 3:30pm. The car just sat in the garage from that time as usual as I don't drive that car on weekends. Very clean and averaging just 7.2k miles per year. On Sunday, I tried to clean it to be ready for work on Mon but I got this big surprise when I saw that long big mark on the passenger side door extending thru the rear door and it has a big dent. I am pretty sure it's a bumper mark. My car was hit by another car I guessed. My son called to report It and ask if he can bring it back but the person declined saying that the manager was not there. My wife and son went there the following morning but it was just a waste of time. They are saying it was already driven ( less than 2 miles) so they have no responsibility with it. And the thing is, they showed this Courtesy check sheet that shows they encircled that side where the said mark and dent are. This checklist was not done in my son's presence and he has no signature or acknowledgment. How easy it is to mark anything there to cover up their wrongdoing if customer do not need to be present during inspection. I guess the mistake is that my son did not do a thorough check before leaving. But they said its not their responsibility for whatever happen to your car in the parking lot. If they parked it in a very bad spot, Good luck to you. Never again in this shop. read more

So far so good.. I'm using the free wireless connection courtesy of Milpitas. I am a wheel works customer and usually am at the MV location. This time I was worried about my tire leaking air and decided to get it changed here. Having 4 other people ahead of me with a 2 hour wait doesn't sound too bad.. but we'll see. Anyhow, the workers seem to be working hard and busy. They are helping customer coming in and calling back customers. I was offered an alignment for around 80 but they said they can price match. I decided to forgo that and get my tire fixed as well as rotated. My tire is close to the wearbar but I was pushed for getting tires since i had some life to it. They offer free coffee and water (never drank any) and current magazines. As long as I have internet and an outlet, I'm a happy camper. The weird thing is that their garage is not connected to the office. I guess its located a short distance, so its pretty quiet. I like the fact that the worker made an announcement to all of us and said that all of our cars are being worked on concurently. At least we know that our cars are in the port and that its not sitting in queue. That was a nice touch. So far so good... read more

They also did not reset my oil change dummy light even after I went out of my way to stress that I needed it reset. For some reason I think they were lying to me claiming to be able to reset this light. read more

I have been doing business with the location since 2013, when I purchased my first set of 4x brand new tires. Tires had a 40K mile warranty. I barely got $20K out of the tires (over 3yr period). I purchased a second set of 4x brand new tires in 2016, same brand, with a 55K mile warranty. Store mgr made no offer for a pro-rated discount (or any other discount) on the new purchase, given the advertised warranty was not met on the previous purchase. Here we are now in 2019, I just purchased a 3rd set of 4x brand new tires, because the last set of tires again, not meeting the advertised mileage warranty by over 15K miles. This time, when I complained about the warranty issues, the store mgr informed me that the previous purchase from 2016 was no even in their system and there was nothing he could do about the tires not meeting their warranty miles (even though I had the original invoice for the pruchase). This latest set of 4x brand new tires is a different brand, with a 70K mile warranty. Not a week later and I have a flat tire. Review of the tire prior to taking it back for repair showed no nail or other item protruding from the tire or any notable physical damage. After inspection, the store mgr informs me that his tech tells him the tire is damaged due to a "stabbing". I asked to see the damaged tire and reviewed it with the tech. The tech agreed there was no way to determine if the tire was damaged due to a "stabbing" or due to damage during the previous install or if the tire was defective itself, he could only say that the tire was not damaged by a nail (creating a circular hole) that could have been repaired. Note that the vehicle was in a secured location and it would have been difficult at best for someone to have "stabbed" the tire overnight (as the tire was in good condition the previous evening after driving all day). I had to purchase a brand new tire and again, was offer no discount or other benefit, as the store mgr was of the opinion the matter was not his fault. Keep in mind these are $200 (all-inclusive expense) tires! I will never darken this stores doorway again (except for the annual tire alignment I purchased for the life of the tires), and I would recommend you do the same! read more

Had a blow out yesterday on 680 and had my truck towed to WW. Checked in at 2:50pm with no appointment and drove out at 4pm but it wasn't the typical spare tire swap out. I had lost the key to the cable lock on the spare tire on the underside of the bed and didn't have access to the crank that lowers the tire. They didn't hesitate to improvise and resolve the issue. A large piece of the blown off tread had lodged between the suspension and brake housing taking 2-3 techs to pry and pull it out without any damage to the brake lines. Their message displayed at the register was to the affect that Customer Service is always a positive experience.....mine certainly was, courteous and friendly. To the new WW that just opened in Livermore....the bar is set high. read more

Wow, and that is a very big WOW ! Never have I ever experienced any service like this anywhere else. In fact, no quality of car/tire related service that I had in the past could come remotely close to this. Mark was the service advisor. His knowledge, his sincere willingness to help customers, his attention to every service task and his full dedication to the work at hand, blew me away and was amazing to watch. I came to the store to replace my four done tires with well-researched on-line and local deal proofs on multiple types of tires. Mark and Dane, who Mark is currently training, greeted me. With his stunning wealth of knowledge and experiences with cars and tires, Mark helped me pick the type of tire that would work the best for my car and for my need, matched the discount deal on that tire type with no hesitation, and answered a gazillion questions of mine to my utter satisfaction, while helping other customers in line. The sight of his multi-tasking and being good at all of the tasks is quite something. Mark's attitude of treating any customer just like treating his own mother, his own wife or himself makes him a very different type of service advisor. Thanks to Mark, Wheel Works Milpitas has won every and all my future business related to tire and car service in general. Funny that I can be so sure of it. Can't wait to make top recommendations to family and friends. Went in for a broken stud turns out I had 6 that needed repair they fixed without bringing cost up. I bought 2 tires also. The guy Mark sevice advisor was very informative and knowledgeable gave me what I thought was a great deal for 200$. I was told I need front wheel bearings on front wheel and tie rod end on outer one cost will be $ 562.21 most for labor. I've been going there for years now, and am generally happy with the service they provide. Front desk is always friendly and helpful, and the pricing is straightforward. They always honor their online quotes, and typically it's a piece of cake to get an appointment, even on Sat & Sun. Was just in there today for a flat tire due to road debris. They took a look at the tire and were able to patch it, and got me up and running quickly for no charge. Only issues I've ever had were some alignments on a past car that I had to have redone a few times before it felt OK to me, but even then they happily redid them at no extra charge until I was satisfied. Would definitely recommend them, and will continue to give them my business. read more

Beware of their flat warranty when purchasing tires. They will only fix it once. I bought brand new tires from them and when I had simple flat they fixed it the first time. I had a second flat tire with a simple puncture caused by nail and they refused to repair they insist in replacing it and I need to fork out money for the new tire even though it was only 1 year old. I took it to another shop and they were able to fix the flat on the tire. read more
