I went there on Monday, felt like they lied to me, and were pushing hard for a sale no matter what I wanted. I had a flat earlier in the day, AAA service changed it and the guy said "this is a good tire, get it repaired, it doesn't need to be replaced". Went to Wheel Works, they said the tire couldn't be fixed. Then the guy went around checking all my tires and said I needed 4 new tires. On two of the tires there was a lot of tread left before the wear bars would show, and I asked about that - he just kept saying "it's below the legal limit" and "it's not safe", real scare words. I said I'd buy two tires, he said they would be $115 each, then the total came to $370!!! I asked why and he said there were some options and he'd take them out - the only one he would explain was a road hazard warranty for $18, but the total came down to less than $300 which still seemed a lot. At this point my internal alarm was going off and I said I'd think about it. On Yelp I read great reviews about Tire Merchant on 13th and Hedding in SJ. I went there, asked if they could repair the tire and they said "sure". They repaired that tire and another for $20. It took less time than for the guy at Wheel Works to try to convince me I needed 4 new tires. Oh, and Tire Merchant said I had many thousands of miles left on those two tires that weren't showing the wear bars yet. Wheels Works - never again. Update: 7/29/13 - those 2 tires Wheel Works told me 2 years ago needed to be replaced? I just had them replaced as they needed it now - got about 12000 more miles out of them. read more

I was helped by Brian, and he told me that my new tires from Costco may have been worn down from the beginning since they do not do alignment there. I got lucky, and the job was done in around thirty minutes. I was showed just how bad my alignment was afterwards and was given some options for replacement tires. Been using this place for years since its walking distance from my house. I liked the previous manager than the one they have now but the new one was just as helpful and courteous as the previous one. One of my cars needed runflat tires.Runflats are hard to find and they managed to find a pair for me and changed them out the same day. They do more than replace tires. I had oil changed, starter , Alternator , shocks,belts,& brakes replaced along with balance and alignment. So far no issues with me at this location. They can be busy at times so the wait time can be long. Better off just dropping vehicle off and leave to do something else and have them call you when its ready. They are expensive here so make sure to bring a couple of pounds of gold. What was funny was there was an old man sitting in the lobby waiting for his car. He was moaning and groaning like he was in his death bed .He told me he's been sitting there for nearly 5 hours. read more

This place is ridiculous. I took my car in for a tire change and when I got my car back, the hub cap was missing. Jorge told me that someone must of stole it within 2 minutes from when he drove the car to the parking lot after i was done signing papers. Complete BS! Jorge said he inspected the car after it was done and the hub cab was there, he asked his mechanics and they also said it was there. My car was only parked for less than 2 minutes in the parking lot! Jorge is a liar and very unprofessional!!! My boyfriend called the store, and Jorge said he'd replace it and then went to tell him "we don't want your business here anymore!" I got my oil changed here several months ago and I have to admit, I was very satisfied with their service and friendliness. The thing that got my attention came at the end. They told me I have a leak under the hood that should be fixed. If I decide to fix it that day, they're willing to give me a 20% off. I thought to myself, "That's strange, there is never leaks on the driveway where I park everyday and no leaks after I leave a parking spot either. What did they do to my car or worse yet, is this a scare tactic?" I left without the service. Well today, I just got a management job offer telling me they pay really well with a $XX,XXX commission. After reading this, I had to post up my experience with a 2-star review to let everyone aware of the fact that the counter representative is a salesman, not a mechanic who really knows what is wrong with your car. If you decide to bring your car to Wheel Works, do so at your own risk. Now that I think about it, I really can't trust them. After all, I don't need someone to "sell" me maintenance service on my car when there is no need to. Firestone is worse. I believe they hire mechanics who were fired from the dealers. read more

Just had two tires replaced and had a different experience than the last few reviews of this establishment. The people were friendly & helpful and the prices were competitive with Tire Rack. Trust me, if service isn't friendly or helpful, I am more than happy to tell the manager of the the place and write about it on Yelp. It took slightly longer (2 hours total) than the last place I went, American Tires, but only by half an hour. They did a great job. I made an appointment, and they contacted me to confirm. The day of my 1pm appointment, I dropped the car off before work and told them they could keep it all day. They called me before lunch to let me know the truck was ready. At pickup, the total was as originally quoted. They didn't try to upsell me on anything I didn't need. So please with wheel works, I already went to them for oil changes and checking fluids/ tire pressure but my recent visits were a great experience. I heard my breaks having issues and mentioned it to them and they didn't take advantage of my lack of knowledge. I called up wheel works and they were able to get me in within 2 days and on a weekend! Dropped off in the morning and heard back pretty quick around 10-11 they were low staff but still took care of me and my car. Peter called and let me know my front breaks were fine but my back breaks were worse then I thought but could be fixed the same day along with my oil change and changing some belts. When I let him know I had money concerns he let me know honestly that the belts could wait. I told him at check out that I would like to try for the credit card (got denied but I don't really have credit due to my age) I got my breaks fixed and my belt fixed at the following visit 2 weeks later. I've always had a good time at this location but the care that I get from Peter and his associates is outta this world! See you all for my next oil change in 6 months and thank you! read more

My tire blew out in the morning while heading to work. I called them up, they gave me a price and after I checked in, they had me in and out in 45 mins. While waiting, I took advantage of Milpitas free wifi and Dr. Phil on the tv. Couple things, it's better to get in there the earlier the better because the rush starts at 9:15! Call and ask for a quote because what they tell you on the phone is exactly what you pay ( no hidden labor, fees etc.) Lastly, be prepared for their friendly service. I have positive experience with Marco, the service advisor at this Wheel Works. No pressure up sales. I took my car in to Fremont location to fix a flat, they said that I need a new tire because it is a running flat type and it will cost $600 and would not do the repair because of liability (BS). So I checked for the repairability of my tire with Michelin and they said that it is the same as normal tire. The was nail right in the middle so it is fixable. Took my car back to Milpitas Wheelworks, Marco checked and fix the flat without even mention of replacing. Ethic and good work bring business. read more

I've been here about three times and every single time I've been met with great customer service. I did an entire 20,000 mile service just double checking everything. It was much cheaper than anything I could've gotten at the dealership (of course). But they give you a one year warrantee for tire rotation and alignment! I came back to cash in on that lovely warrantee but they were extremely busy that day. I suppose it was my fault because I did come towards closing time on a rainy Saturday. Marco immediately help me set up an appointment and I was on my way. Now I'm back! :) I'm waiting for my free tire rotation and alignment to finish. So far it's been 30 minutes. RUDE EMPLOYEES!!!!! No customer service skills AT ALL. Tony is the most rude worker there! I looked through all the other reviews and this is very common, why is nothing being done? I will never come back to ANY wheel works again. Their staff must go through zero customer service training. I had just gone to my dealership and they performed an inspection with my service, I needed another one with a specific form so I came here, they tell me I need tires.. big surprise! I still have half my tire life they're only a year old for crying out loud! 2 hours of waiting for an inspection and they say my car is done, thank god, I have to get back to work. Oh wait, we need to bring it up, 30 min later my car is brought up. And the guy who told me my car passed is nowhere in sight when the guy who wants me to pay tells me it failed. One of my company's trucks has a nail in a tire, we decided to take it to get patched here because it is the closest shop around. After an hour of waiting for the simple task, I asked them how much longer it would take and was told it would be done any minute. Another 1.5hrs went by, they finally finished. It cost $22. First off, I only leave reviews if I have exceptionally great service or terrible service. This is not a great service post. Dave who originally helped me was extremely nice. I come in around 12pm and was going to get all 4 tires replaced. He gave me an ETA of 2-3hrs. I asked if they could commit to having it ready by 2pm and was told yes. I come at 2:15pm and was told by George it would be roughly another 45mins... maybe 20ish if he went back to help. I said nope, give me my car and the tires and I'll have someone else put them on. But waaaait, there's more! To top it off, George said they had already put 1 new tire on. Well that was a damn lie. Maybe 5mins after, he gets some call saying I actually need 17in tires and not 16in so do I wanna pay $40 more for the right tire... You gotta be fucking kidding me. So obviously there was never 1 tire put on the car... Definitely not Dave, nor George's fault in any way, shape, or form... but seriously? Don't commit to things you cannot do. As expected, both Dave and George were very apologetic but "sorry" doesn't take back the 2 hours I wasted waiting for my fucking car or the $30 I wasted taking an Uber to/fro my house to get my car. What really got me is that I would've been a loyal customer. I had signed up for a card there to get 5% off my first purchase. George offered an additional 5% ($20 more off - wow ), but still had the audacity to make me pay more for the 17in tire. That's not some real customer service to me. You guys fucked up and if it were me, I would've offered the discount and no extra charge for the right tire, considering YOU were the ones who told me which tire I needed. Don't come here if you want efficient, quality service. I went against my better judgement and came here even with 2.5 stars. I would rate this place 0 stars. Got a quote for my car tyres( V speed rating tyres recommended for my car). Came to this place to get it installed. After installation saw that they installed tyres with H rating. (which are cheaper, for lower speeds and not recommended for my car) . FYI I had checked online and compared the prices for H and V rated tyres. V rated tyres are more than 50$ costlier (pricefor 4). When I came back the person stated that H rated tyres were ok for my car, until he checked his records and offered me to replace the tyres. Plus they told me that I needed wheel alignment done. I agreed and paid 80 bucks extra for it. But when I checked the wheel alignment report, only 1 wheel had a reading in red that too by just 0.01. I would not have done wheel alignment if they had showed me the report earlier. I did not find them truthful. They try to make you shell out more money from your pocket for things that you do not really need. I would not recommend this place. read more

Despite all of the negative reviews, I visited this location anyway as it is less than 2 miles from where I live and I needed tires badly. I went online to www.wheelworks.net. Selected the store, make/model of my car, the tires I wanted (an itemized list is provided, by price), and chose my appointment time. I called back the next day to confirm my appointment. I showed up, Tom (Tim?) who was working at the front-desk was very nice to me. We went over my online quote and a technician was called and picked up my car. Tom took the time to show which tires I purchased, showed me what an alignment was and what the alignment looked like on my car with the tire displays. He honored a $10 coupon off the alignment service. I also purchased ($2 extra dollars on a balance purchase) the every 5000 mile balance for free service. I got 2 new tires, rotation, balance and an alignment in under one hour. At the end of my visit, I got a little nervous when I found out that the two new tires were placed on the back instead of the front. I called Rob at Hyundai Stevens Creek and he confirmed that this was the correct rotation of tires. I was very satisfied with my visit. I am uncertain why all the negative reviews. Maybe it depends who is working the front-desk, not sure. I do know that the next time I need any tire work done, Ill be visiting this location. read more

Here waiting for my car as I'm typing this up. Estimated time till my vehicle is done is 2.5 hours. Was trying to explain to the guy behind the counter that I wanted something simple done with my car, but he was not understanding me. I had brought my own tires because I got a great deal off of tirerack.com. I wanted my one rear driver side wheel, a wheel is the rim + tire, to be put in the trunk. Untouched and still together and the wheel in my truck to be mounted to my wheels that will be touching the ground. My spare is bald and my rear driver tire is a used tire I recently bought, so that's still has lots of tread life left. So I wanted to keep my rear tire as the spare and use my full sized spare on my car. He was not understanding that at all. It was simple. Switch out the 2 wheels first, then change the 4 tires that are on the car. Super simple. He was having a hard time comprehending this for some reason. Let's hope people with in tact brains are handling the tire change. Will update once service has been completed. Time of completion: ~3p.m. Waiter longer than anticipated. Peter was very kind and I can tell he was under a lot of pressure due to the slow work and high traffic of customers and calls. All in all, I am satisfied with the work done and wasn't pressured to add anything on top of my requested service. Peter was even kind enough to discount the original quoted price and that good enough to give him 5-stars. Other places usually just say sorry and hope you don't say anything. read more

Quick and good service. Be aware that their front desk and service center are in different buildings (just 300 ft away). I went in for an oil change with a coupon that offered a free tire rotation as well for $25. They finished within an hour and made courtesy checks and filled my tires with the right tire pressure. My experience has been very good. I did replace all 4 tires for both of my cars (total of 8 tires). Each time, the experience was very good. Luis is the best. He is so friendly, and really go an extra mile to help the customer out at no charge. My car has the engine light "on", and Luis and his team spent 1 hour to work on it for "free". Also, the tire sensor of my Lexus has problem, Luis told me that I can get the part and they can install it for me for "free" because they have installed the tires for me. Wow. The technician Ian / Trung are also super good, and super friendly too. He is also wiling to help. the manager: Tony is also very good. He gives very good support to his team, and for the customers. not sure why so many people had bad experience with this place. For me, it is very good. That is why I used them twice. read more

I go in to this shop on 7/1/19 to have my Lyft inspection done. They tell me "3 tires are bald you need to change them in order to pass. We have tires for $111 after tax." I took my paper, left, went to the hood and bought 3 great looking used tires for $125. I come back at 7am on 7/2/19 and the Filipino guy was like hey you're back. Yea I'm back I need to work. He said what are we doing today? I said Lyft inspection. He asked if anything was done to the car I said ya the tires were replaced. He asked how many I said all 3. Then he begins to tell me well I only have one tech in the morning so it'll be a wait. How long? 3 hours! I'm the only fucking person in the shop mind you. I said no I'm not waiting here for 3 hours I'll come back. He proceeds to tell me he can schedule me an appt for 10am when the other tech comes in I said fine. Then says oh sorry I already have 2 people booked at 10 am we can schedule you tomorrow. Wtf? Are you kidding me? Why tell me you're going to book me at this time then say no you can't? He's clearly pissed I didn't buy the tires from this shop. Not only that, I'm a young female. My husband just took the car into the shop this past weekend to have the oil changed and was upset when I told him they said the tires needed to be changed. They clearly didn't but I did purely for the fact that I need to drive. Fuck this place, seriously. I have 3 kids I need to feed and pay for daycare and I'm losing a days pay because they can't sign off on a fucking piece of paper. 2017 brand new fuckin car. I go to Wheel Works in Milpitas in this morning to do alignment and remove nail from my tire.. Before I visited Wheel Works, I have my car in other auto repair shop, That's why I know there is one nail that need to remove. There is only one nail. After I drop my car to Wheel Works, I was told there are two nails and my tires are out of 60,000 miles warranty, so I have to pay full price to purchase new one. I never see those two nails, but was told I have to replace new one. In order to prevent not balance in the same side, I was suggested to replace two instead of one. .. Eventually I pay two full price of tires. Beside I have good memory, I also keep the past 10 years of my car service records, so I go home and find my original service record and bring it to Wheel Works at noon again to show them I still have 19,000 miles left for the warranty, and I am still "within 60,000 miles of warranty". If the tire truly cannot repair, I should get the prorated credit back.. The adviser has nothing to say, but simply credit back $30 to me... I asked how to calculate those credits, The adviser said he just enter those mileage to computer. That's all. Is it a simple to find mileages from my invoice in 2014 to purchase new tires, adding warranty 60,000 miles and minus current mileages? I only use around 41,000 miles and there is 19,000 miles left for warranty. It doesn't matter how much money I can get credits, but I am more concern that" there is no warranty" announced from advise. Thanks God, I keep all the service records as evidence.. Moreover, the tire might possibly repair (remove nail), but I was asked to replace a new one... There is no way I can discover now. The adviser only give me ONE option that is replace new one. Wheel Works has every service order from their computer. Why do they tell me "there is NO warranty anymore"? I am so upset and Wheel works lost my trust... Now, I am wondering if those two tires I purchase in this morning are NEW.. After two days, I stop by another Wheel Works and get the same model of tires quotation in Fremont location, the Fremont store adviser write down mileages and the date of rotation in front of me.. then give me even more pro-rated credits compare with Milpitas store.. I am more upset because the pro-rated credits can be calculated by human, but not computer....... I change tires in Wheel Works in the past 10 years and this is third time of the same vehicle. He does not upsell you, but would only recommend what would be best for your car and what would work on your budget. Jorge is fantastic...I give this review 5 stars for being Professional, Courteous, Responsive, Timely, and Skillful... I got my tires on Tully, got alignment at Capital, however, my ML350 felt "different" like it was not smooth anymore...It's a 2012 so maybe it doesn't feel new forever? I work near Milpitas so next 5k I called Jorge on Monday...He advised me to make an appointment say Wednesday which I did... He was expecting me and took my car right away, called me later to re-confirm my desired PSI so I called the dealer to be certain (fuel door data is best = 32 PSI all around)...I was called when the car was ready 45 min sooner than the committed time which really helped me to get on the road before rush hour...I got my car immediately and just driving away the car felt great (smooth)... That Weekend I drove to Tahoe...Alignment is important for safety on Mountain Roads in winter and I felt safe because my ML350 was smooth, steady, responsive and it felt "new" again for the 1st time in a long while...Inflation & Balance are also important for safety and rotation for extending Tire life...Prior vibration and slight pull were gone and the car felt like the car I'd come to know before these recent misalignment issues/concerns...It wasn't just in my head as technicians at other shops had insisted! I never really have any problems with this location, I scheduled an appointment to have an oil change, air filter, cabin air filter replace on my car and was in and out about 45 minutes. I did came in one time without an appointment and it took about 1 hr just for an oil change. I've been a customer with this store for more than 12 years, although sometimes they did this or that thing not so great, but over all they did fine job with my car. But this time these guys did something really over the edge. I went into the store told them I need to replace my rear tires. The guy, Michael, who went to look at my car came back to me insisted I need to change all 4 tires. I told him the front tires actually only 2 years old, and I did not drive too much in the past 9 months b/c I had a car accident, so I think those two tires are good enough for a while. But he kept telling me that I need to buy 4 new tires even I also talked to they store manager. After I went back from coffee, I found they changed my front tires which were good ones, but left the almost dead tires(rear ones I told them to replace) still on the car. And they told me it's misunderstanding. I asked the store manager to check when I had the front tires changed last time, he said 2014, and those tires millage are about 30K now. And he said the reason they changed my front tires b/c of a safety issue, they were doing that b/c of considering my safety. (Excuse me, you guys left the dead tires on the car b/c you are considering my safety.....) Then I said, if the front tires are need to be replaced, they should be covered under warranty? Then he said: " oh, these tires have problem b/c of alignment." I told him when I replace the tires last time, I also had alignment done at same time. Very unhappy. Went for tire repair, told tire needed to be replaced. First they told me from driving on it flat, it wore the inside. When I objected, saying there was no way it was flat, just a little low on pressure and I came right in, they said oh, sorry, we meant there was a nail in it. So when I asked to see, they showed me a big honking nail that wasn't there the week before when I took it in to check on the low pressure. No way I or they wouldn't have seen or even heard it. And naturally it was in the side where they can't patch it. How do you get a nail in the side of the tire? Anyway - all this and I had to wait there for 2 hours after they said it would be done. Then after I left, I had to go back because they had my wheel lock. Can't prove fraud, but I won't be going back there again. read more

They are very expensive. On two occasions when I have been to this place, I ended up paying a lot of money(more than what I expected). They always suggest you additional fixes/issues and if you don't understand cars very well you could end up getting the unnecessary fixes. WOW! I had flat tires on my B.O.B. jogging stroller, and I went in there on the off chance that they might fill for me. They did so with such great service! They also mentioned that they will check tire pressure and fill tires at no charge for any car, regardless of whether the tires were purchased there or not.
