I'm trying to find a solid place for oil changes that isn't overpriced. My friend recommended this place because they have a ton of coupons running all the time on their services. I have a hybrid car, so I went in with the intention of getting a partially synthetic oil change. At 116,000 miles, they said that I needed the "high mileage" oil change. Hmm... It took a solid hour to complete, with an appointment. There was no sticker that said, "Your next oil change should be at X miles, and we used Y oil." Uh, I dunno. I wasn't sold. read more

I brought my car to be evaluated at a couple other shops because it had a small staple stuck in the bottom of it. The other shops are all trying to charge me $350 to replace the tire. One of the shops recommended we replace all four tires. There's only 10,000 miles on the car. Rip offs. I went to this wheel Works and spoke with ANDREW. He was friendly and attentive. We have been going here for all of our tire and alignment needs for the last 6 years or so. Yesterday I added getting my oil changed, as well. The service here is always friendly, efficient and the work is high quality. Check ahead of time on the Wheel Works website for deals, like the 15% off one I used for a synthetic oil change. Also, make an appointment ahead of time for the ease of getting in and out. I hung out in the waiting room for about 50 minutes (I was told it would take an hour, so bonus!), and it was way more enjoyable than the times I have waited at the dealership for hours for the same service. I had a bulge in the sidewall of one tire. I brought it to the San Ramon Wheel Works. After an inspection, John, recommended a new tire. Because my car is a Mini Cooper with run flat tires, John suggested that the new tire be a run flat too. I made the purchase and left. Fast forward to today, a year later, and I'm at America's Tire with a flat tire on another tire. During the inspection, the tech noticed that the tire that Wheel Works put on was not a run flat tire. I checked the receipt from Wheel Works and sure enough John did not install a run flat tire. Because I don't have a spare (hence the need for run flat tires) I now have to purchase 2 tires. Now I'm wondering if John over charged me for run flat tires and installed a non run flat tire. Needles to say...This is not good. read more

Very impressed with this outfit. I was turned away from my local dealership because it was "too late in the day for a flat tire". Yelp app to the rescue.... tried this wheel Works and they had no issues helping me, and to my surprise did not even have to pay!! An inspection resulted in needing a new car battery and timely tune up. Per their phone call, My car was ready for pick up before 12pm this afternoon. Upon picking up the car at 4pm, we drove to Sprouts and on the ride hubby noticed one of my lights was out. I didn't have problems w my headlights before dropping the car off since it's already sun down when I arrive home and I'd clearly notice. So we went ahead and hopped back in the car to see if they can do their "quick fix". I just wish that their final inspection was complete, I'm sitting out here in hubby's car waiting for this facility to get my lights back on. 5:45pm Diagnosis: my right light shorted out due to the battery replacement and they want to charge $93 for labor. I brought the car in w fully functioning headlights. The check out inspection was either not completed by the assigned mechanic OR they had full knowledge of the blown light on their watch and hoped we wouldn't notice it. Not cool. Bottom line, we're not happy that after the fact they want to charge us for their screw up. They should've been forthcoming about both the initial and check-out inspection, and replaced it for free. Oh, we WILL fix their screw up, pick up a replacement bulb on our own for less than it costs for a fast food meal and do it ourselves. I would've gladly given a very different review had they at least "attempted" to remedy the problem that arose after they worked on the car. When we inquired on a potential fix and order the bulb they told us it was out of stock and we would've been happy to have them order it and fix it, until the tech added that it would be an additional $93 labor PLUS $7 or $8 for the bulb they blew! This business not only failed to deliver top quality service, but they negligently put the cost back onto us due to their neglectful workmanship. We understand when things happen beyond our control, but there was no ownership or concern over the whole pre and post inspection and how to find a viable solution except to stick it to the customer. If you don't like working weekends and you just want to do a half-effort job at the customers added expense, Wheelworks should adjust their rates to reflect the quality of their poor workmanship. We're blue collar workers just like you and your work ethics don't exist. It's no wonder we end up returning to the dealership where customer service and quality workmanship is reflected. Instead of saving time, we ended up racking up more time towards fixing your problem ourselves. read more

Terrible service. After they replaced tires, my car had throttle response issues. The manager was eager to claim no fault, yelled at me and her technician, told us to stop talking to each other, and called the police on me to threaten me to leave. The technician was very nice and wanted to help me by simply answering questions. It was a pure exercise of limiting liability with me and overpowering her direct report. This manager treats her people and customers poorly and had a litigious attitude. I would avoid it at all cost. (Turns out the issue was for me to simply wait until the system reset, as the technician had kindly advised me.) read more

Would not recommend this place whatsoever!!! Ordered some tires from tire rack.com and they were a recommended installer based on the type of vehicle I put in the system and the type of tire I purchased. Once the tires arrived, I called for an appointment told the person on the phone exactly what kind of vehicle I had no modifications have been made to my vehicle. When I get there to the shop they tell me sorry they can't install because the car is too low, and they don't have a jack either that they could use!! What a bunch of jack....s. If you are a car repair facility of any reputable standards you should know in advance what kind of vehicles you can and can not service before equating two hours of someone's time!!!! The guys at Wheel Works in San Ramon came through clutch. Had called the Dublin shop, closer to the pad, on a Friday and was told as long as we bring in the car before noon on Saturday (walk in status) they could get it done. Of course, come Sat we call and that's no longer the case. Seeing how we were about to take a road trip come Monday and Sunday is football it had to get done. Making an already long story short... we call SR. The guys said bring the car in and it'll get done. Got a call about an hour before they close and she was ready to roll. We took advantage of the lifetime warranty for alignments and haven't looked back since. Oh yeah, she's riding smoother than ever. read more

I am so happy with my new tires from wheel works! I do not usually get all excited about tires... but the customer service is so outstanding I need to speak up. You can get great tires, at a Competitive price, ( Yes I price checked, ). When my tire blew out on the highway, I did not realize how dangerously close I was to an accident!! My tire shredded and wrapped around the brake lines. Mark who manages the store could have charged me extra for untangling the tire shreds from the brake lines, but I wasn't charged any extra ! Long time customer and I finally met one of those sneaky technician / sale person. He said he will help me to inspect the brake and tire pressure and charge me 29.99 inspection fee without asking. As a backyard mechanic, all I need is alignment service. 30 dollars is not a big deal and I blame myself not looking smart on that day. I have been taking our cars for service for years. Recently, however we received horrible service. My husband brought in his Ford F150 to have breaks checked. They said just needed rotors shaved. After a week the breaks started squeaking, we brought it back. The rude new guy at the counter told my husband it must have been something he did. Seriously...after my husband insisted they took it back after 2 more visits they finally replaced the pads. But still squeaking. Maybe they have new owners or management, but heads up guys, this is how you lose a customer. read more

Came for flat repair on a 2018 911. 1) Got car back with different tire valve cap (really wouldn't have cared if it wasn't for the fact that the original valve cap was one that matched the wheel). 2) The wheel weights they removed for re-balancing the wheel left residue in barrel of wheel, I still haven't gotten it off. Previously the barrel was pristine and flawless, now has ugly sticker marks. 3) Black tar-like residue left on the rim, I'm assuming from the patching of the flat. Looked at first like it was damage, but relieved when I got it off with goo-gone. 4) My previously unmarred grey wheel bolts were now chipped from their removal, I guess this shop's tools aren't as high end as the tools used by the indy's I've gone to. Didn't notice any of this until I got home as I was in a hurry. I didn't bother going back, not worth my time, if you take pride in your car like I do then it's up to you to have the patience and wait until a reputable shop is open (went on new year's day), so I blame myself. Did I give them a chance to rectify any of this? no, but really, with this shoddiness out the gate what response would you expect? If you want people working on your car that you think care about the quality of their work, look at other options. read more

WARNING: Do not go to this place for service other than tires. My usual shop is closed on weekends and I had a coolant leak that seems pretty straight forward to do. Took my car here on a Saturday..took all day for them to find 'issue' said they need to keep the car. Ok Sunday - they said it was the water pump and oh since we are there, we should do your timing belt as it was in same are and about $50 difference. So OK I trusted them. Later in the day, they had a number of excuse why car will not be ready Sunday..They said Monday and they offered us free car rental for a day Monday-fine. Ok so picked the car up end of day Monday (3 days for coolant leak??) anyways, I thought that was the end of it and $600 poorer. Wednesday night, saw some liquid..hmmm. Thursday morning more coolant!! Barely made it to the shop with the car ALMOST overheating. My car empties its coolant on their lot as soon as I turned it off. NEEDLESS TO SAY THE INITIAL PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED. Fred at WheelWorks was less than customer oriented, his attitude and demeanor made us loose our cool. Later that day they said the found the broken O-RING that caused the leak but it was a special part and the dealer was over-nighting it to them. Out of a car AGAIN for THURS AND FRIDAY. Picked up the car on Friday...finally no LEAKS! I understand that engines and parts have multiple facets to it..fix one thing..something else goes etc. But did I really need the water pump replaces and why after replacing the simple O-ring fix the problem??! Needless to say, I am not happy. Expectations were not set, services was less than honest/straight forward. Yes, I agree they attempted to compensate with car rental and District Manager called to try to win back my confidence. But in all honesty, now a days, businesses need to understand that: - you can't treat your customers like they are idiots - integrity is still important - don't bite more than you can handle - if you can't do the job and meet it in a timely manner let you customer know. read more

If you care about your car, time and money don't come here. These guys tried to charge me to fix a leaking pinion seal one of the techs had just installed not even 3 thousand miles prior. It was still under warranty. I even spoke with them about it a week before and set up an appointment to do this work. I couldn't believe it. This isn't the first time these guys tried to screw me over. I'm tired of their bs. Only reason i came back is because my mustang mechanic is working here. They are rude and just plain stupid. After 45 more minutes, I went to the desk to see if my car was ready. Another individual informed me that a tire rotation was an 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait. Have been going here for a few years now...oil changes, tires, brakes. There used to be a mechanic named Frank that was really nice and so helpful. I went last week for my routine oil change, same one I always have on my very plain VW wagon- not a fancy car by any means.....This time, FRED, starts a whole rhetorical runaround with me about my "specialized" oil filter and how it is not in stock and cannot be had for two weeks and how it seems that all of my other oil changes in the past have used a oil filter that had been marked down for me!!!! I showed him all my previous receipts and simply asked for the same simple little oil change I always got.....this guy just would not have it- he just liked to hear himself try to put me down, maybe because I am a woman and just don't get this "car talk" so he was kind enough to simplify it for me.... I drove 4 miles away to the Dublin Wheel Works, walked in with my previous receipts, and asked for my simple oil change.....I was out the door in 30 minutes without anyone trying to challenge my intelligence..... Took my car for a warranty wheel balance and rotation. Ticket showed 2hrs to pick up car. I told them if it is 2 hrs, I will wait. Six and a half (6 1/2) hours later, I managed to get them to finish the 20 minute job. The fake British sounding supv, kept pushing other paying customers ahead until I talked to a different supv (who just transferred from a Chicago franchise). Bottom line, do not buy their extended product warranty as they are more interested in getting new cash flow. read more

I've called twice to address this along with the fact that the day I got my new tires my truck was telling me I had low air pressure in the front passenger- no answer. I'm never disappointed with this place...you're reading a review from a repeat customer but this is my most recent experience. On my way to lunch I noticed my tire was flat with a nice metal chunk in the tire. Made it to Wheel Works. Brian came out, checked out the tire, told me it could definitely be fixed and educated me on tires, alignment, rotation...the works! He also let me know I had a significant amount of tread on the tire to last me at least a half year. Yay! No upsell! Upon getting the tire off, the tread on both back tires was complete worn! Not only did Brian come back with pictures on his iPhone, showing the wear, he gave me options as to the tires which were available, once again not upselling me but educating me on my options. The other guys in the place were so nice and social. I was in and out within about an hour (even had my oil changed at the same time at a reasonable rate!) Thanks again guys. I visited Wheel Works (San Ramon) back in 2017 as there was a nail in my tire causing a slow leak. After the flat was fixed, I was told by the technician that my battery was no good and I would need a replacement. After paying a ridiculous amount to fix the flat (I do not remember the actual price but it was somewhere between $40 and $80), I decided to hold off and have my battery checked at Ford. The battery checked out okay as well as every time I had it checked afterwards. Today in June of 2021, I finally had to change that battery and it reminded me to call out Wheel Works on a shiesty move they tried to pull. I do not recommend. read more

My sister called them for pricing on a realignment for my Honda Civic since we were referred here from Costco. They gave us a $10 discount which I thought was nice. We came around when they opened so they took my car immediately and told me it would be 45 minutes to an hour. My sister and I walked around the area for about 45 minutes and they were done. I think we were fortunate not having to deal with any strenuous waiting as mentioned in other reviews so that's not bad at all! The grand total was $80. The worker there was friendly, prompt, and talked to me about my tires and the measurements the realignment machine gave him. He didn't appear to try to up-sell anything, but he did advise that I replace a crummy tired I held onto after a car accident. Overall it was a good experience and I recommend them for realignments and your other tire needs. Definitely call them to either schedule an appointment or get a rough quote on any work you want done. read more

Tires. What fun can have while getting your tires changed? Well, a lot of fun can be had. First, they had the best deal on a set of 4 fully rubberized tires. Second, they were willing match any price local or on the Internet. Thirdly, while you wait you can walk down to the Outpost to enjoy a refreshing beverage. Now while the first two things aren't that fun, my bank account didn't sweat me making the purchase. My experience was on a Saturday and while they were definitely busy they were cranking out the cars like there was no tomorrow. My 4 new tires were installed and aligned in under 3 hours from start to finish. They had tires ranging from 79 to a lot more than I wanted to pay. All in stock. With even more available with a short wait. I had called ahead to ask about the prices and they were more than willing to give me the installed price not the per tire price and then after I was there tell me it was going to be an additional amount for install. Who buys tires just to have? These guys understand the need for the complete price and are willing to give the info you may need even if it is so you can shop around. Would I come back? Yep. read more
