I brought my damaged motorcycle to Raul to inspect and write-up an insurance estimate for me. Having seen some pictures of his shop, I knew to not expect a very professional experience however what I didn't expect was his complete inability to write up a basic estimate. After inspecting my motorcycle for 1 day, I picked up my bike and he said he'd get me an estimate within a day. A week goes by and he finally finishes writing everything up. It then takes him another week to get any information over to my insurance estimator and he sent over random pictures of the bike along with a messy handwritten order that had math which didn't add up nor match other numbers he provided. I then spent 2 additional weeks asking him to provide a simple summary of the estimate with a total, which he was unable to do... literally the simplest thing you can do, he failed at. I can't speak to his ability to fix motorcycles but I can confirm he's incompetent and unable to run a simple business. read more

Raul and Otto saved my trip. I was set last week to head to a motorcycle rally in Oregon. I wanted to mount a couple of 50/50 tires on my supermoto before I went. In the process of attempting to do so myself, I pinched the tubes in both tires (yes, noob error). Desperate, the morning I was supposed to leave I Googled for "motorcycle repair" in Marin. I saw that Wheelsmith opened an hour before the bigger shops, so I called them right at 9am. Raul said to bring the wheels down and he would get it sorted out. Ten minutes lates, Raul was looking at the mess I'd made but was calm and reassured me that they could mount the tires. He dispatched me to Motovation (formerly Motopia) to get a new tube for the front tire. While I was picking up the tube, he even called me to remind me to get a new rim band as well. I was back at the shop by 10:30 to drop off the tube and rim band. Fifteen minutes later Otto said all was well. Total charge for emergency service: $70 (plus the good tip I left). Raul told me next time I needed to change a difficult tire to bring it to him and he'd show me how to do it without pinching the tube. The bike rode awesome and the trip was a success. I needed a tire put on my bike. I called Raul and he was nice on the phone and said bring the wheel to him and he could install the tire within a few hours. Once I dropped the tire and wheel off he called me to let me know it was done in way less than two hours. That's what I call service. The R7 Goes In for Its Break-In Checkup I just got the new 2022 Yamaha R7 back from Wheelsmith Racing and it's running like a dream. Raul Meono had it in and out in a day and had some nice things to say about the R7. In particular he noted how light it is and how straightforward the valve check and other items were. I first went to Marc Salvisberg's Wheelsmith Racing with my new 1989 Yamaha FZR600. Raul had started at Wheelsmith in 1981 and his brother, Otto Meono Solis, joined Raul in 1990. In recent years Marc has done the dyno tuning on my bikes, but since I first brought the FZR in, all the other work has been done by Raul and Otto. My FZR 1000 had a vibration at about 60mph. Drove me crazy - turned out a freaking out of balance crankshaft ? But . . . before I figured this out I swung buy this shop and explained my sich and some guy(definitely the boss)spent a good 20 minutes dicking around with all options - even put a 4 foot breaker bar on the engine bolts to the frame - no charge just tried to give me advice and a hand. Raul and Otto (brothers) hail from Guatelmala and have been tuning bikes all their lives. Factory Pro is down the street and they do all their product development and testing for Marc Salvisberg, owner of Factory Pro. Teaming up with Marc, they have tuned and supported top AMA riders for years and years, including Rich Oliver and Aaron Yates. Back to Raul and Otto. You have to remember their main craft is tuning your engine using their Eddy Current dyno (EC997 Dyne Systems). All the other stuff, like changing tires, installing aftermarket parts and the like are things they do to make the customer happy. They will also race prep your bike including drilling all your bolts and nuts for safey wiring. The bottomline is, they will do everything for you, but they are best at tuning your engine. Everyone that goes to them comes back and says the same thing: "my bike is a completely different bike!" Meaning, the responsiveness and power of their bike has improved dramatically. These guys know what they're doing. This is why I never hesitate to tell my friends and acquintances to go to these guys. I live in S.F. and had my own bike as well as my brother's and girlfriends bikes all tuned here. Raul & Otto are super knowledgable and do a great job. I'll mention that their service isn't the cheapest around... but the results were worth the price for all three bikes they serviced. I had a Honda Hawk GT tuned and it pulled a wheely and had more torque than I knew that bike could have. Triumph Triple they tuned was incredibly balanced and pulled like a rocket when I rode it home... finally my very own R1 purred and spooled up to speed so quick that I almost lost it into a fence! One star is overkill! These people are dangerous and just crooks . Oil change was 1 quart above than top limit. After a 700$ dollar inspection, Idle speed was at 600 rpm . Front brake was spongy. Theses thieves are destroying the trade. Either learn to do your basic maintenance or go somewhere else. Always asking to get cash money so they don't declare it. I will report them to district attorney, and possibly the IRS. Never done that before. read more

After a few months of getting aquatinted with a new to me gsxr 750 I knew something was goofy with the map on the computer. The bike has a bunch of good aftermarket work done to it and Raul got it tuned correctly. UPDATED: Marc contacted me personally via e-mail today in order to get everything straightened out. He was very professional and promised to send out one of the parts that was in stock and refund the other. Even better, he promised to e-mail me once they have more of the shift kits in stock. Like I said previously, these guys make quality parts. Their jet kits are probably the easiest I've ever had to tune AND offered the best performance. Needless to say, that's the stuff you're going to get here, and you definitely won't regret it. We got off to a bit of a rocky start on my most recent transaction, but in the end, Marc has handled the issue amicably and professionally. To be honest, I probably could have been a bit nicer to the man towards the end, but he did take the high road and did not engage one of my less flattering e-mails (I'll admit it, I was a jerk at the end before apologizing), while still taking care of the issue. I'm looking forward to getting this ignition advancer in. END UPDATE This review is for the Factory Pro side of their business (run by Marc). First off, their products are great. When their operations are running smoothly, their shipping times are very fast. My wife ordered me one of their carb kits via Paypal, and it was awesome. As such, I decided to order their shift kit and ignition advancer for my bike. Since I don't use Paypal very often, I wound up having to go the eCheck (through PayPal) route. It cleared Paypal and was transferred to the seller a few days after the initial order. About 4 days after that, I called Factory Pro (Wheelsmith being their R&D / retail location based on the other reviewers and on their own Yelp profile/website) and was told that my order wasn't in their system for shipping yet. As such, I was told to contact Marc via e-mail, which I did right after hanging up. After still receiving no response a few days later, I e-mailed him a second time. I never got a response to that e-mail either. Finally, I e-mailed the address listed on their website. Once again, no response. After over a week of waiting to hear SOMETHING, I opened a claim with Paypal, still hoping for an amicable resolution. They didn't bother to respond to that, either. I took My Ninja 250 to this place as it is very close to where I work. I must say whatever skepticism I had based on the uno review, was washed clean when I met Raul and Otto! I was not sure why my bike was shifting hard and Raul took time and fixed my motorbike up good. In addition to the oil change that I asked for, he fixed my chain and straightened my gear lever and also told me of the valve tuning that he could do to make my bike perform better. He did not hard sell but merely stated the facts and my options. I would recommend any motorcycle to these guys. They are honest and very good at their job. Just take a look at the bikes standing outside their shop. They are a Racing and performance enhancement shop who also do repairs and maintenance. Do not miss out on their experience and honesty. Secret little sister shop of Factory Pro. Real nice guys running the place for many years when not out doing AMA/AFM so there is serious experience on hand. Took me in same day to re tune my track bike. Marc is who you want re mapping the PC or even the ECU itself. My Triumph 675 runs strong and smooth. Brought motorcycle here for the custom PC3 map, because i have done many high performance mods to my motorcycle. It didn't sputter or smoke or leave carbon soot anywhere, but I knew it had to be done. Called and made an appointment Sat ( they are closed Sun so it was for Monday) and took it in around 9:15AM. The two Latino mechanics were there to do the invoice (both guys were very nice and professional) and told me it would be ready around 4:30 that day! I know its maybe a 4 hour process to dynotune, buy around 12:30 Marc (the FactoryPro guy) called me to tell me some stuff about how the bike is performing and the improvements he is seeing and to inform me the bike would be ready at 3:30! He was very precise in all the data and different techniques he uses to release the most hidden horsepower that hides between the fine lines or air and fuel mixtures. Raul and his brother were great. I had gotten stranded on 101 with what I thought was a busted clutch on my 1983 Honda Shadow. Fearing it would cost more to fix than the bike was worth, Raul told me to bring it in anyway. They came in a truck to pick it up and brought it to their shop. While we were looking for a clutch kit they took a look at the cable, did a quick adjustment and started the bike up. The bike ride just fine with the proper adjustment. Absolutely no nonsense and they charged me way less than they could have to repair the clutch, because they're honest and totally legitimate mechanics. Now I can head back to Seattle instead of either abandoning the bike or waiting for parts to arrive. I highly recommend Wheelsmith to anyone in need of service to their bike. read more
