I love finding these local gems. Where Y'At Seafood is an amazing local dive. The owner is extremely nice and the staff is so helpful and really makes you feel welcomed. We ordered to go from the food truck. We got the crawfish étouffée, hush puppies, and the amazing bread pudding. The crawfish étouffée was SO good! It didn't need anything added no hot sauce or anything. The seasoning was spot on and it had lots of crawfish tails in it.. the étouffée was a little bit more oof a stew than what I am used to, but definitely delicious. The hush puppies were perfectly fried golden and delicious soft pillows on the inside. They were cooked to perfection. Now the real winner here. That bread pudding. Oh Lord that bread pudding. It was hands down the best bread pudding I have ever had. The whiskey soaked raisins, the bourbon sauce on top. The soft bread pudding.. the combination is so good. I swear I could eat a caterIng pan of just bread pudding from this place. I hope we are back in the area one day to dine again. It was such a great experience and the food was phenomenal. Great little restaurant with authentic food. I love this place especially on Wednesday for all you can eat crawfish. Could be better about filling the trays so you don't have to wait, it's hot outside! A big gripe of mine is the shrimp po boy, it's spot on except for using very small shrimp, the size of bait shrimp. I had a condo in new Orleans, none of the restaurants use this small of shrimp in the shrimp po boys. Come on, you all have such a good place and everything is perfect except the shrimp po boys. After some disheartening experiences in New Orleans, our taste buds were left unsatisfied ... but the cravings were strong, so we closed our eyes and dove right in ... and boy, we're we glad we did! We FINALLY found the perfect red beans and rice. Yes! Not too salty, has a nice chew ... good amount of meat in there. Just an overall great warm and fresh bowl of food. AND it's priced right. We also had the fried seafood platter. Shrimp were big and nice and bouncy. Again, not over salted - just the right flick on the wrist. Batter was super light but still got that crunch ... fried oysters were huge, but the fish were more like nuggets - however, it tasted fresh and perfectly cooked. Fries were also on point. A great local alternative to New Orleans food. Of course, food isn't the same as NOLA, but this place does a good job anyway. I wasn't able to try their crawfish, but we took a peak at the ones you can eat and bring home, and they look big and juicy! However, we did try their shrimp poboy, and it was decent. Not as big as the ones back in Nola that they sell for the same price, so I feel like Where Y'at could have been priced a little cheaper or make their poboys a little bigger. The remoulade sauce is okay too. Not my favorite poboy though. Crawfish Étouffée is a little too runny for my taste. I prefer a thicker roux, but the color and flavor is excellent. It's just more of a Gumbo consistency for my liking. The truffle fries kinda had me lost. Love the shoestring size, but the little balls of parmesan(?) or whatever is on there kinda confused me. The beignets though!!! They're amazing. They made up for the things I didn't prefer on their menu. This place isn't a bad place though. The crawfish etoufee was meh. Order the beingnets!!!! They were better than those at Cafe du Mond in New Orleans! The prices are reasonable, they have fresh seafood market offerings, and many mixes, spices, pickled things in jars, sauces and a freezer with things like shrimp stuffed chicken..yes, please! We tried out Where Y'at today and they did not disappoint. We had very friendly service and the food was amazing. We have been to many of the other local seafood places around our area, and many do a good job with seafood. Today, I got the Cajun Snow Crab legs and the wife got the Boudin Egg Rolls. Just have to say they were both the best we have had since moving to this area of Florida. Also, we both had the red beans and rice and there are many of my college friend's moms who would have tipped their spoon to the red beans and rice. Yum. Across the board, they have a great staff, excellent food and supplies so you can also take spices and mixes home and do your own. We WILL be back. read more

I was impressed. I realize snow crab isn't going to be locally caught, but we like the fun of the process, so we like to get it in gulf towns. Usually crab is under-seasoned and you just drown it in butter to make up for it, but man, yours was so well cooked. That garlic seasoning or whatever you use was killer. I had a good experience. That, consequently, has seriously reduced me trying out new businesses however, the Fiancé and I went to visit my future in-laws (Everyone's COVID-free, thanks for asking!) and while there, I got us some lunch to-go. Where Y'At Seafood is a solid representation of The Boot. We tried quite a few things. My Daughter had the chicken tenders and onion rings. The tenders are HUGE. She loved them. Now, she prefers large onion rings so she wasn't too thrilled about the ones they provided (closer to onion strings) but she said they were delicious. My Fiancé got the shrimp po-boy and onion rings. She said her choices were pleasant as well. It wasn't overstuffed with shrimp like I'm accustomed to but I had a bite and I agree......it was good. I tried 4 different things for myself: Who Dat Wings, boudin balls, red beans and rice and the gumbo. The wings were extraordinary! I got them with sauces on the side so that gave me the chance to truly taste the flavor of the chicken and the wings exceeded my expectations! The red beans and the gumbo were satisfactory. About what you'd expect from what I consider a "tourist restaurant"......the places visitors go to in New Orleans, not the ones us locals eat at. We do hole-in-the-walls.....where it tastes like somebody's Grandmother is cooking. My only disappointment was the boudin balls. I wasn't feeling those at all. Where they excel, though, is their beignets. Those were fantastic!!! They had me reminiscing bout being back in Baton Rouge, yeah! If you're new to our "jazzy junk" and you're in Navarre, Where Y'At Seafood is a competent introduction. If you're knowledgeable on up to expert level and are craving some of dat Cajun cooking, they'll please ya and hopefully hold you over till you get to somebody's Grandma. First time here and I was very impressed. I had 4 pounds of boiled crawfish that were mixed size but very flavorful. The young man boiling did it right. Then I had half dozen #1 blue crabs. Absolutely fantastic! Full of meat and boiled right! I have wanted to go back before the end of our trip but they ran out of crawfish and crabs. They had apalatchicola oysters but they were so small and $2/ea. Definitely not worth it. The staff was young and polite and knew their seafood. Very enjoyable meal! read more
