As a barista, I really appreciate down to earth real people serving my coffee...This shop has super nice down to earth baristas and great Intelligentsia coffee prepared well. Nice laid back vibe. I was really happy to find a matcha latte here as well because sometimes, I just want another option other than my go-to drinks. Their house cold brew was good too! Yum! There isn't many coffee shops around this area, there's a few but they are half cafés. This place is just coffee and teas, I'm typically a straight coffee drinker but I tried the latte here and it was delicious. I've had both the hot coffee and the latte (my boyfriend loves the ice lattes) and I'm not disappointed by any means. This is exactly what we need! It's a little difficult to find. It's under the we sell gold sign so don't be discouraged when you don't see a sign for the place. read more

What a great place to hang out! A small coffee shop. The coffee is delicious, and I saw some yummy looking baked goods I can't wait to try! A proper coffee place with several seating areas including sofas, and nice outside seating too. Here you will find friendly knowledgeable employees, and the place feels very comfy. There are definitely much better coffee shops in the area. Only giving it a 2 star because the art work is really good. Facility is not maintained well, health code violation for the "in reach" chemical bottles in the bathroom, electrical work taped to the wall with duck tape. After ordering, the barista asked 3 times if it was hot or cold coffee and we told him hot 3 times... still got a cold brew. Won't be returning. read more

I'm very excited that this place exists. I am obsessed with coffee and had no idea that this place was around until I found it on Yelp a few days ago. It operates out of a "Sell Us Your Gold!" place and there is zero indication that there is a coffee shop there anywhere that faces a main street so it's hard to find. Just know that it's the "Sell Us Your Gold" place on the NW corner of 48th street and Chandler, in the plaza with Tukee's. Anyway, the coffee is great. I always get iced coffee at new places like this, and I've had both the cold brew and iced coffee. Both were great, very smooth. The barista seems to be super cool with custom orders and such. As far as seating goes, there isn't much but the place has been nearly empty every time I've gone so it doesn't really matter. What I did notice is it's very quiet - no music or anything. Which I personally like, and maybe it will change depending on the time of day. This would be a great place for working in quiet. I'm excited to try the teas in the future. Go to this place and help keep it in business! I really missed having a coffee shop close to home! read more

Makes a mocha equal to Jobot or any of the other "premier" places downtown, with a huge convenience factor - if you're driving to work via I-10, it's only maybe 5 minutes out of route to stop here AND get coffee made. Plenty of indoor seating including comfy sofas, and shaded outdoor seating for those days when it isn't 110 degrees. Wifi password is printed on the receipt. read more

I had an iced vanilla latte there this morning. The shop was empty besides myself and a single barista...not a good sign for the popularity of a place. The latte was okay...it was nothing special. I've had better vanilla lattes from Jack in the Box for cheaper...and there is a Jack in the Box not too far from this shop, so that's where I'll be going for my iced coffees in the immediate future. read more

Unfortunately, I was hoping for better. I love trying out new coffee shops when visiting new areas, so before a doctor appt, I decided to grab some coffee at this local spot. It's fairly small and simple, which was fine, but it went downhill from there. I really wanted a pastry to go with my coffee, but the pastry display was pretty bare and it was still quite early. The only choices were pretty much desserts and because I needed something in my belly, I went with the "brookie", which was described as half cookie and half brownie. I also ordered a caramel iced coffee, which basically was just iced coffee and the coffee itself wasn't my favorite. When my coffee was ready, it was just placed on the counter...no eye contact, no calling out of my name or the drink...nothing. When I opened the brookie, it was pretty hard, so I brought it home to my daughter, who said it was good but hard. Based on this experience, I probably won't return... read more

Would give five stars if there were more vegan options, one day I'd loved to go in a cafe and being able to grab a quick vegan snack. The espressos are strong, creamy, and a kick in the pants. The brookie is moist and crumbly. The service is prompt, attentive, and friendly. The ambiance is roomy and comfortable with plenty of outlets around the room. The wifi is strong and free - with outdoor seating. WhereUBean is worth searching for. Near the northeast corner of E. Chandler Blvd. and S. 48th St., it is in the strip behind Tukee's restaurant; at the S. 48th St. entrance to the parking lot, look for "Sell Us Your Gold" (and I understand from the barista that they still do buy gold). It is an unpretentious coffee shop, a smallish place with a few tables and a couple of couches, no funky decor, just delicious coffee in a relaxed atmosphere, and they play really good music (jazz the two times my friends and I met there). My friends and I like to go out for coffee in the mornings, and when we were there, the coffee shop was not crowded, although people came for to-go coffee throughout our stay. The barista was friendly, seemed to really enjoy his job, and made a couple of great cappucinos. Definitely worth the search. read more

Do not get turned off that you are buying coffee from a "sell your gold" store. The lattes I tried have been consistently good. The owner is super friendly and willing to customize: from syrups and alternative milks to how much ice you want in your ice latte. The seating is ok, nothing special. A few tables and couches in a sparsely decorated space with the "sell your gold" office in a corner. There are also a couple tables outside. But I come for the coffee, that's why the 5 stars. read more

I visited WUB today with a friend and we each had coffee and a bakery item. I can easily give this place 5 stars for quality of coffee, food, service, and atmosphere. I really appreciate the almond milk option as I am allergic to both dairy and soy, and the coffee was fabulous! The barista was incredibly helpful and offered genuinely good service. Drinks can be more inconsistent than at places like Starbucks; it seems to me that they don't always have a recipe for everything. Make sure to be specific with what you want, and they always are happy to tweak your drink if it doesn't taste exactly how you want it. Perfect coffee every time I've gone there. Have t expanded past the 'everything but the kitchen sink' cookie, but really? Why bother? It's a meal in cookie form- delish as long as you like coconut. I've encountered at least three different employees and all are extra helpful and nice. I get the coffee and go, but it's be a good place to hang and work or chat. Better than Starbucks -- I don't even mind that it's slightly out of my way and doesn't have a drive-thru. Besides being cheaper, the americanos (my favorite) are cheaper and smoother here. The blended drinks are priced similarly to Starbucks, but the largest size is HUGE and they'll make it with your milk of choice. Aside from Whole Foods, this is the only place I've been able to find (that's still open) on this side of town that offers almond and/or coconut milk. The crimson tea is also great. Service is a little slower, but it's typically one guy manning the register, making my drink, and being friendly all at the same time so I'll take it. If you're using debit/credit and the owner rings you up, he skips the "Tip" option when you're checking out -- I'm sure a lot of store owners wouldn't do that so it stood out as a positive. However, I typically try to bring cash because I know credit/debit fees make a big difference for independent stores and I definitely want to see this place stick around. read more
