For an appetizer, we enjoyed their bread and butter, which was fantastic. The bread also came with olive oil and seasonings to dip it in, which was also very tasty. For dinner, I enjoyed their grilled cod with French and sweet potato fries, as well as coleslaw. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!

I arrived around 8 p.m. on Friday, thinking the dinner rush would be over, but the place was loud, and the waitstaff was overwhelmed. There was no place to sit and wait for a take out order, so I went back to my car with the menu and tried calling to place my order. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes, I called back, but the line just gave a busy signal several times. I ended up going back inside to place the order in person and awkwardly waited by the door for my food and while this was happening, cops arrived because someone got kicked out. Definitely an awkward situation for our first experience. When my order was ready, I had to ask for utensils, which weren't included. The atmosphere definitely feels authentically Mexican, though. We ordered a shrimp burrito, which was a bit plain and dry--just rice, fajita veggies, and shrimp. The fish and chips were better, with a good sized portion of fries.
