This place is pretty cool and I'd say it's a more pimped out version of subway. First off, you order your sandwich on a thin paper bag that has a bunch of choices on it that you check off. These choices are sectioned out by bread type, sauces you'd want on the sandwich, type of meat, type of condiments, and a whole bunch of others along these lines. First, you pick a particular type of sandwich you want to work off of which the wall in the store displays. It's very convenient so that you don't feel pressured like in a subway line with the person waiting for you to pick on the spot! There's also way more and cooler options such as pesto. It's a really cool concept and the sandwiches are pretty good as well. I have had the breakfast sandwich and the Wicked. For me, I liked the breakfast sandwich better because I love eggs and simplicity in a sandwich, but in the Wicked, there's 4 (?) different types of meat which was a bit too much for me. Which which has stood the test of time for me. Toasted sandwich, tons of customizations. I've been back 3 times (yummo) and they also have a frequent buyers card promo which is cool because you'll get 2 stamps for getting larger sandwiches. I've had the caprese twice (we came here during lent), grinder and pizza melt. All were perfectly toasted on delicious bread and come with all the toppings and fixings I like (plus extras). Shakes are also good and such a treat!!! Chips were eh for me (too much gourment oil and rosemary) but this isn't a chip place, it's a sandwich place! So so good. read more

I have heard great things about this sandwich chain so I finally checked it out. As my boyfriend said after our meal, "I'd rather have Subway, and Subway isn't even my first choice." The ordering system is only efficient for old timers. I had the luck of a family of 6 walk in just before me which included children, and we all know how children can't make their own decisions. ("Are you sure you want turkey? Why don't you want chicken?" Dammit, let them order whatever they want and if they vomit it up later then they've learned the hard way. Worked for me as a kid.) So after waiting eons for these people to sort out what they wanted to eat, my impatient self grabbed the wrong bag and had to cross out and re-write some things. Yeah, stupid me for thinking the French Dip would be on the beef bag. No harm done. $30 later my boyfriend and I had placed an order for two shakes, two bags of "house chips" (repackaged kettle brand salt and pepper crinkle cut, as far as I can tell), a 7" sando and a 14" sando. Here's where the weird part happens: my order was quickly made before that group of 6, even though they were before me in line. Then my boyfriend's sandwich was made after that group. So by the time I finished eating my French dip, he was just getting his food. As we sat outside under the blazing Carmel Mountain sun, I turned to my boyfriend and said, "For 30 bucks, we could have gone to a restaurant, had our food brought at the same time, and had beer." He critically eyed the remaining 10.5 inches of his unevenly cut sandwich, carefully wrapped it, returned it to his ordering bag, and said "I think I'm done here." Which Wich first of all cool name try saying that many times over. I like their concept of putting your order down and just handing it in then they make your sandwich. Too many times I have seen and experienced sandwich making going wrong and arguments about what was put in. With this paper it clearly shows this is what you wanted and its what you get. The service was quick and no issues. I ordered a turkey sandwich with some other great ingredients. The sandwich was delicious and I had no problems. It's a step way up from Subway, Jersey Mike's does not have all these different types of cheeses and condiments to choose from. If you fancy having a sandwich specifically how you like it or love to add tons of things to it then this place is for you. This place is not for people who enjoy a sandwich they like to always order or who just like to put around 3-4 things in their sandwich or less and move on. This place is in the midst of a humongous shopping center but they open early and offer breakfast! They have indoor and outdoor seating which is excellent! The inside is clean and open, room for a group! Their order paper bags weren't updated but luckily I were regular fans and know what we want. The people are nice and friendly which is always a plus. I've been to a few Which Wichs and then this one popped up on my neighborhood. I love their food and choices. Even though I end up throwing 100 things on my sandwich it always turns out awesome and I can taste each one. The setup is easy, just pick the base of your sandwich and check off on your bag exactly what you like. This spot even read out a long obnoxious name I made up to make fun of my Raider fan roommate out loud when it was done. Thanks. I've tried about 6 of their sandwiches and am always walking away with a big smile. Though my wallet takes a slightly bigger beating than say your local Subway, if you got a few extra ends to step it up for a better sandwich I'd suggest you do so. Checked this place out after I noticed it was busy the few times I had past it, much busier then the previous occupant Quiznos. When I walked in I wasn't a fan of all the directions at first but you get the hang of making you order on these sandwich bags mounted on the wall sorted by what meat you wanted, and you mark down the veggies, toppings other items you want on your sandwich. The concept while non traditional is welcomed, I mean I could get three kinds of onions on my sandwich, I couldn't do that at Quiznos or Subway, their sandwiches are oven baked, that is always a plus. I got the buffalo chicken with caramelized onions and the usually fixings. I thought it was good overall. Too sum up this place it was Quizno's without the price ( Thats a good thing) and the personal service ( kind of a bad thing). My only gripe was you couldn't see your sandwich being made so I dont know how you go about asking for say just a little bit of Mayo/lettuce etc. Also there is always the chance they misread your order and screw it up. At Subway there is no possible way for them to mess up your order cause your watching them the entire time... Overall - this place is a hit, and at 5.90 for my 7 inch (no combo), the value is there. First I'd like to start with saying that I love the fact that Which Wich lets you customize your sandwich in every aspect, however despite this amazingly robust customization I would have to say that it falls short in some of the quality sadly. When I compare it to Jersey Mikes it falls short. I ordered an Italian grinder sandwich with many of the ingredients of a Jersey Mike sub, even the oil and vinegar. I had the sandwich and I did not taste any vinegar, either there wasn't any or there was very little. It was a good sandwich but it falls short of the best in my humble opinion. This place is under new management since last year, and the difference is noticeable as soon as you walk in the door... the employees are happy, friendly, and extremely helpful (they used to be bored, sullen, and unhelpful) and they've never gotten my order wrong once. This review is based on one visit to this Which Wich location. I've always been a big fan of Jimmy John's, but unfortunately there isn't a location here in San Diego. Which Wich fulfilled that need for me in a BIG WAY! My favorite sandwich at Jimmy John's is the Beach Club, but I have found that Which Wich's Turcado is even bigger, and dare I say better? The bread is similar, which is why I really make the comparison. Since I've only been there once, I cannot comment much on the rest of the menu, but based on the Turcado alone, this place rock my socks!! It's nice to know I no longer have to pine for a great sub. As for the ordering, it's a little tricky for a newcomer, so you need a moment to look everything over. Some may prefer the customization options, while others may prefer a simpler method. To me, the food is what ultimately matters most. This place was packed, but I was also able to get a look at the overall atmosphere and I find it to be cute and friendly. WhichWich is a great place to go for a sandwich when you feel like being particular. You can make your own sandwich by filling out a brown bag and just give it to them. The only thing they lack is variety with their bread choices. If I remember correctly it's only white or wheat. However, unlike most sandwich places, whichwich makes some tasty breakfast sandwiches. When I get them, I have them make it with egg, sausage, american cheese, spinach, and avocado. Sounds gross but it's actually really good with the cheese melted from the toaster oven. One thing I really like about this location is the staff always gets my sandwich right. And that say's something because I write extra instructions on the bag that can be hard to catch if their busy...(extra toasted, easy mayo, easy salt/pepper) I suppose they are a little pricey, but it's only 1-3 dollars more than most other sandwich places. If that's a big deal to you then go someplace else so I can get my sandwich faster when I go there. Something unique about Whichwich is that they have banana flavored shakes. My girlfriend loves them and sometimes we go to there instead of other sandwich joints just because of their shakes. All and all, the staff and restaurant is nice to experience. Although it is a bit small, their seating layout is very efficient. They also have a few tables outside and it's pleasant to sit out there when the weather is nice. And wow! I never realized how great it is to not have a wobbly table when you're eating. Their indoor seating has tables bolted to the floor. I can't even begin to recall how many non-franchised delis that I've gone to that have wobbly little tables to sit at... Bravo to the franchise and employees! read more

My first... and last... time eating here. We placed an order online and went to pick it up at the time they indicated it would be ready. When we arrived to pick up they hadn't started making the order yet. It was a to go order and I was extremely disappointed to sit down to eat to discover something was wrong/missing with every single item in the order. One wrap had 3 of 6 ingredients missing. One order was for a sandwich called "The Avocado" which had, that's right, no avocado. It was so bad we packed up the food and returned to the restaurant to address the issues with them. Can I share what we received in light of the situation? Attitude! The person seemed annoyed and incredulous and said he'd just have to remake them. Yes of course you do! But you don't make the customer feel like they are inconveniencing you when all three items were incorrect. The replacement avocado sandwich turned out to be inedible. The avocado used was nowhere near ripe and was rock hard. The other wraps were alright but by no means worth the price. This was an incredibly disappointing experience even more so since I rarely eat out. I would not recommend this place nor will I ever return. This place is good, although I've been here twice with two entirely different experiences. First time was great. I went in and figured out the ordering process without looking too much like a mordiot (moron + idiot). Each sandwich has its own bag and you annotate exactly how you want the sandwich done on the bag itself. Then at the end, you get your sandwich in the bag you wrote on. Like I said, first time was good - I can't for the life of me remember what kind of sandwich I got, but I do remember I was very impressed with it and my mind was set that I was going to go back to try more. Second time, I took my teenage son. The wide variety of sandwiches and the ordering process seemed to excite him (teens are funny). I decided to go with the seafood salad sandwich this time because I miss the old Seafood and Crab foot-long from Subway - it's nostalgic for me as it brings me back to being a poor college student, savoring the unique taste of imitation crab on a Sunday afternoon filled with studying. Anyway, my son got the "Wicked" which looked like it had a lot of meat. Took mine out of the bag and I was immediately turned off. It was very sloppily made...lettuce all falling out and the cheese stuck about halfway out of the bread on both halves. I had to stuff everything back in there. After the first bite, more disappointment. Yeah, the familiar taste of the imitation crab lit up my mouth but there just wasn't enough of it. Subway used to put three little scoops of the salad and spread it out. There was about half the amount in this one. And I clearly marked wheat bread on my bag...my sandwich was served on white. I tried to swindle my son out of trading him one half of mine for one half of his Wicked. He took one bite of mine and said, "I like mine better" and looked at me like I was a shitty father trying to do something cruel to his first born. I took a bite of his and although he thoroughly was enjoying it, it was too salty for me. So although it was crappy experience the second time, it was still not enough to dissuade me from returning. I was so excited to take my fiancée to which wich since I had recently discovered the scripps ranch location. This location is closer to our home so we decided to visit on a Saturday. There were a lot of people and they were pretty busy but we waited it out anyway. Overall, i do like the concept. I mean, you write your order on the bag that they string across the assembly line. This practice should eliminate any errors right? Wrong! I ordered two sandwiches and one was their featured sandwich western style. What we got was a plain pulled pork sandwich. Not what we ordered and of course we didn't discover this until we got home. I understand they were busy so I usually wouldn't cut down stars for just that error. The thing that really upset me was that I was overcharged and didn't get a receipt. When I thought about it while waiting for my sandwiches I went to the register and told them I didn't get a receipt and I think I paid too much. The guy at the register said, oh yeah, I overcharged you a sandwich. I can refund you but I need the card you used. If I wouldn't have said anything they wouldn't have refunded me and I was charged an extra sandwich of $10! The fact that he knew and I was waiting for over 12 minutes and he never called me out to the register was what alarmed me.
