This place is nothing like your typical deli restaurant. When I first walked in, I was kind of confused with the set up. But after gazing at the wall of menus, I was approached by one of the employees. He was kind enough to ask if it was my first time here (which it was). He showed me their wall where you can grab a pen and paper bag to write in your request. You first grab the paper bag with the protein of your choice. I got the chicken :) On this paper you can specify exactly what you want in your sandwich. So simple but detailed enough that you'll know that your order will be made the way you like it. Once you have this filled out, you can hand this to the guy at the register to get your order started. My sandwich came out amazing and I will be back again. I returned after a long absence, and was quickly reminded of why I quit going there. Overpriced and grossly over rated in my opinion. Two sandwiches, two bags of chips and one drink for a little shy of $24. What a hose job! The roast beef sandwich was salty, the beef seemed of low quality. Contrast this to the one I regularly get at Rock n Jenny's in Escondido, which has real decent roast beef and absolutely the best sandwich rolls that I have ever had, plus employees who actually know how to carry on a conversation. Ambience wise, the place is awful. Bare concrete floor, minimal furnishings, and music (with bass) so loud as to hinder normal conversation. I bet if they turn it down they will hear people saying that "this place sucks!" Maybe that explains it. You money would be better spent elsewhere. read more

Well, today was disappointing to say the least. I ordered a Pesto Chicken Bowlwich (salad) but that wasn't the disappointing part. If you take a look at my picture, there is an abundance of tomatoes and Jalapenos. That isn't all I asked for on my salad though. There was a few cucumbers underneath and a couple of rotten mushrooms. I also had a small scoop of hummus. No complaints with that. The Pesto Chicken was almost non-existent. The chicken was so mushy, that I thought they had given me chicken salad at first. But my biggest gripe comes with the wilted, rotten spinach they used for my salad. Common sense, please. If the spinach is wilted don't put it in the salad. If the mushrooms are rotten then skip them. What is going on at this Which Wich? It used to be so much better here. Went to this location today bought a sandwich for a friend ordered a chocolate shake and fries. My friend said she was searching for the meat on her sandwich looks like meat was only on half of it but she found it not much meat but she found it. I got the chocolate shake which was really chocolate milk there is no ice creamish thickness at all. I took the shake back and they said they would thicken it up and it took two people to figure it out when they got it off the blender they looked at it and the man took the pitcher into the back room. That's when I said I don't want it I don't know what happened to it I don't know what they were doing with it I don't know why they had the shake so long and why do they have to take the pitcher with my shake into the back room. So I left without getting my money back without the shake either, have no idea what was going on. I did have the fries they were horrible they were anywhere from an inch let's say maybe an inch and a half to two inches not tasty at all but why do I get the small bits of fries. Thoroughly disgusted will not go back to the store ever again I lost $5 shake-- overpriced shake especially when they hand you a small cup of chocolate milk. So this location reopened and it's the Scripps ranch location taking over the Carmel mountain location. I just had the worst food I've ever eaten at a which wich. There's only one item I have ever gotten at which wich and that is the #4 chicken in a saladbowl. Before, the chicken was deli meat chicken breast that was thinly sliced. It was delicious! Now they have changed it to absolute garbage, it looks like imitation chicken chunk and it's all fat and rubbery. of course today I was especially hungry so I ordered double the meat so I was double disgusted. I had to pick it all out. Which witch is not cheap, they are on the more expensive side compared to other sandwich shops so I expect a little bit better quality. This was the exact opposite. This was deplorable and should not have been served to a customer. The rest of the salad wasn't great either, the spinach and lettuce were soggy which made it a very odd and unfavorable texture. I haven't been here since they first opened in 2012, however I'm glad to see this place is still standing. Let's be real here; for the price, you definitely get a lot more than Subway for around the same price. I normally get the turkey/roast beef with extra meat for the muscle gains. I also like the variety of vegetables! Other than that, this place is pretty self-explanatory. It is a sandwich place on the same ballpark as Subway and Jersey Mikes. WHAT the @$# is going on in these sandwiches?! Once you get past the smoke and mirrors and the fun red sharpies, you are left with asking the question stated above. I have been here several times and multiple locations because of the convenience, but this is not my first choice sandwich shop for the following reasonable questions listed: -What kind of generic bread are they using? such better baked bread options else where! -What is that chopped up tiny turkey "deli" meat they use? It kinda looks like canned meat, if you can even taste it in the sandwich. Condiments and veggies are skimpy and everything tastes mushy. The one thing I don't mind is that the avocado comes like a spread. Service is okay, depends which teenagers are on the clock. I do like their giant re-useable cups. ***I am not an employee of Which Wich.*** so why do I feel like I work there? You have to write your orders down on the sandwich bag, give it to the guy, and then he confirms everything I just wrote? I don't understand why I can't walk up and order normally? Sandwich was mashed together, and for some reason the honey mustard sauce made it all over the outside of the sandwich. That was a fun surprise. All the veggies were mushy and hot, kinda nasty. The floors had stepped on food reminisce, as did the tables. Luckily I was giving the opportunity to clean my own table. While washing my hands of other peoples food crumbs, I noticed there's also food crumbs and veggie chunks in the bathroom. Seriously, its a bathroom, weird. No customer service, no welcome, no have a nice day. No one cleaning- except other patrons. $31 for two sandwiches, two chips, two drinks. You can to a delicatessen and get huge sandwiches for that amount, or go to the store and make 5 or 6 sandwiches at home. I don't mind over paying if the service and product is worth it. This is not. I strongly believe in voting with my wallet and as such, I will no longer be visiting this business. As their menu accommodates a variety of sandwiches, but not the particular one I wanted I had (wrongly) assumed it would be easy to get a turkey and salami sandwich. The girl at the counter informed me they could do this, but as I wanted two meats they would have to charge me $2.00 for "double meat." When I pointed at that about 1/2 of their sandwiches normally come with 2 or more meats and that "double meat" is for getting 2x the normal amount, she and the gentlemen behind the counter shrugged their shoulders at me. I really enjoy Which Wich and am sad to give this location two stars. However, their service and safety is lacking and management does not seem to care. The space is also rather small and cramped and uncomfortable for accommodating a family with children. There is only one high chair and the one high chair is broken. I brought it up to management three weeks ago. I returned yesterday only to see that the one high chair remains broken. Brought it up to management again, as a child could get seriously hurt. My sandwiches have always been tasty, but unfortunately if they can't take care of safety issues, this is not a place I will be bringing my family to. read more

The white roll that my turkey/slaw sandwich was on was the freshest I've had anywhere other than my favorite Banh Mi shop. Pretty hard to beat. Lets start from the beginning.. How did I stumble on this place? -an old neighbor directed my husband and I here after we professed our hunger and desire for sandwich. How are the wichs? -they're gooooooood. I lived the fact that you can add and make them however you prefer. Many times I don't order sandwiches from places because of a few ingredients in them. Not a problem here you start from the bread and work down to the sauce. -downfall for me on the actually sandwich was the lack of sauce. It seemed to have also been the pitfall for my husband. The sandwiches seemed a bit dry. Dry sandwiches are that fine line between an amazing sandwich and a goooooood one. How's the customer service? -group of young nice kids. Seemed to be focused on there jobs which was good, but a little more interaction wouldn't have hurt the experience on my part. How's the atmosphere? -very laid back and chill. Judging from a one time experience it was nice and if in the area again, I would revisit. Nothing fancy. A t-shirt and jeans sort of place you'd stop by on lunch. Why the 4 stars instead of 5? -even though the lack of sauce was slightly disappointing the main reason for the deduction of the star would be back to the customer service and not in a petty way. Being a first time customer the flow of the shop throws you off. You walk into a wall of bags and workers doing their own duties. I would have appreciated a greeting followed by encouragement to ask questions if having any. More attention so to say in a way. One of my favorite sandwich places, and this one is much better lunchtime spot that used to fill that retail space in Carmel Mountain Ranch. At Which Wich, I am able to build my sandwich by any of the offered theme option bags, and then I get to check everything I want on it and head to the cashier to put my order in. I have to admit that I like the idea of filling out exactly what I want than having to point at it through glass - sometimes the person on the other side of the glass doesn't understand that YES I want lettuce AND spinach on the sandwich and YES I want sweet onion teriyaki sauce AND honey mustard. The "have it your way" concept can be a bit of a double edged sword at times. My last visit here was with a friend who has never been to Which Wich or any type of "you name it" kind of place so it can be hard to explain that you get whatever you want... anything they've got... just choose what you like. There are the inevitable "what's good here" and "what do you normally get" questions that I could answer, but they are followed by a, "but that's what I like. ME. Get what sounds tasty to you." The restaurant seemed clean and orders came up in decent time. I only wish the area where you choose your sandwich type/options was bigger. We came in a group of 3 and with said explaining of the ordering concept, the area got a bit crowded as others showed up ready to order. This location isn't huge, but we were able to find a table. My problem is that while I love to try new things, I do like to stick to things I know are good and satisfy me. I walked into Which Wich and proceeded straight for the bags... like a boss. It really is amazing how confident you become after one experience, like you are a professional ordering machine, capable of picking the right bag and using a red sharpie to execute the order. I decided to add a bit of provolone to my "Cuban" sandwich, you know, spice it up a bit, go wild! I only had the sandwich, it came out to $5.50. Pretty cheap. The service though... slower than molasses. The place wasn't even busy when I walked in. After I placed my order, there was someone who did the first part of the sandwich assembly and then... nothing. Another order was placed. Nothing. Eventually a guy showed up at the other end, but took about five minutes to put gloves on while talking/singing to himself. I'm not sure how long my sandwich was sitting there but it was barely warm when I left the place with it. It took about 15-20 minutes to get my order. Kind of defeats "fast food" doesn't it. Anyway, when I got home, there was no cheese on my sandwich. And according to the bag, there is an extra charge for cheese. So I got charged for cheese, but got none. Not impressed. read more

When you come into the restaurant you will be able to choose from hundreds of different sandwiches with all sorts of different vegetables and sauces. My personal favorite is the french dip. I walked in 10 minutes before they closed but the two girls working were really friendly and didn't rush me out which I appreciated. Great sandwich place with a novel ordering concept... It could be intimidating for first timers with all the menu options and all of the numbers on the wall... Basically you pick the type of sandwich you want and pick the bag with the corresponding number that goes with your type... Then you have tons and tons of ingredients to "check" off on your bag (fickle pickers stay away, you'll be here forever!) The sandwiches and their ingredients are very tasty... I usually get them toasted and for those that like a little "kick", forgo the jalapenos and choose the hot pepper mix.. For the simple folk who don't like menu options (like me sometimes, I just wanna get in and out!), choose the Wicked which combines all the meats... Tight seating in here so don't go in large groups, they have a nice online ordering system, but they've messed up my order each time so I prefer to go in... One last thing, a lot of you will think i'm crazy but the ice in the soda machine is awesome... for those of us who love sodas, knows that good sodas taste great with good ice... c'mon you know what i'm talkin about! read more

Upon further review...I'm not impressed! Here's my take: The service at this Which Wich location is slow. How slow may you ask? Try 18 minutes for a mediocre tasting "Thank You Turkey" sandwich. Usually, if I have to wait that long, I would be sitting in a nice restaurant and usually that nice restaurant would serve me something very special. Unfortunately, all I ordered was one of their "Favorite Sandwiches" and since I was in a hurry, I had my order "To Go." As soon as I got into my car, I tried out the "Thank You Turkey" sandwich. I was a little disappointed at the sandwich because it was sloppily put together. No consistency in the sandwich (the cranberry sauce was on one side of the sandwich leaving the other half kinda dry) With the slow service and the mediocre sandwich, it's a wonder I'm giving WHICH WICH 2 stars (One and a half is more realistic in my opinion.) read more

I'll typically order online and make a nice little ditty out of their pulled pork with onion straws and some bleu cheese. I like ordering online and picking it up and bringing it back to my office. Their whole concept is built around you choosing every ingredient of the sandwich.
