I ordered a masquerade theme birthday cake for my 50th birthday party Henry and his crew exceeded my expectations and the cake was an absolute hit. I chose 2 flavors, the lemon raspberry and the chocolate mousse cake with a layer of toffee cream. The cake was a hit and everyone kept asking if the cake was real. Yes all 3 layers were actually cake. I was so excited to eat it and share with all my guests. It was delivered timely with care and ease before my party start time.

While photographing venues for Alameda Restaurant Week, I stopped by Whisk Cake Creations at their new location in central Alameda. Their display cases caught my attention with everything from cupcakes and pastries to full cakes available. They also serve coffee drinks to complement their baked goods. The owner has a book coming out featuring his renowned ube dishes - he's become famous for those purple yam creations. What makes this place special is their ever-changing Filipino-based offerings--something new on each visit. For special occasions, you can do custom designs, and what's convenient is they'll handle the creative end if you just give them your goals for the cake.

My cousin's birthday cake made by Whisk cake creations! Awesome!! Beautiful and amazing!! Thank you!

Beautiful cake! Lost for words really. I can't even imagine why I also have to have at least 85 words in order for me to post something good about the cake

Another great experience 7 years later. A beautiful, flavorful, moist cake. Delivered straight to my door, extremely grateful!

Anniversary cake. We order our wedding cake every year.

We exclusively get cakes here for birthdays, our anniversary (we get our same wedding cake every year), cakes for work, it's all just delicious. Chocolate raspberry mousse, mocha crunch, lemon raspberry and when available the ube cake, the pumpkin caramel cheesecake -- all the flavors are great and the sweetness for all his cakes always seem to be at the right level. Henry is a Bay Area local and Food Network featured talent and he continues to impress with his and his team's flavors, creativity, and on time delivery. I attached pics of some of the cakes we ordered. btw. There's a secret menu but you didn't hear that from me. Work through the house cake flavors first.

The type of coffee that makes you smile after your first sip. I look forward to visiting once a week for my morning coffee & treat. I bring my dog with me for his pup cup :-). I usually order a hot vanilla late with oat milk!

Cupcake review Pumpkin spice 5 stars, the frosting was creamy and airy, not too sweet, whipped cream frosting and really really smooth. Chocolate raspberry was bomb, again frosting wasn't sweet but creamy, It felt a tad dense when I bit into it but the frosting would just melt in my mouth in a second. Overall a 5 star cupcake experience.

Between the inside seats and the outdoor bench seating, there's plenty of space for a lot of people and when the weather is nice, it's even better. The pastries display was absolutely amazing. Not just their bread offerings, but also their croissants and bombolinis, my gosh it's hard not to throw caution into the wind and order a little of everything. I opted for the matcha croissant, blackberry cream cheese danish, passionfruit bombolini, and vanilla bombolini, and all were amazing and not too sweet. The topper was the ube latte that I got along with everything. Overall, a great pit stop if you're in the area or if you just want to come here because of this place. It's sure to be a good, delicious time.

I love this area of Alameda, populated with so many fun breweries and family-friendly spaces. This was our first time at this spot and we noticed a sign (see below) for the best English muffins in the Bay Area so we had to grab one toasted with butter. Would love to try it as a brekky sandwich, but we didn't want to ruin our appetites for festival food lunch..the brekky menu looked amazing including biscuits & gravy, churro French toast sticks, lemon zest French toast, brekky pizza, and the pork & jam (crispy pulled pork, house made blackberry jam, fried egg, honey-buttermilk biscuit with country fried taters...sounds delish!!) They also have a beautiful selection of baked goods, pretzels, packaged breads to-go, lunch AND dinner options including soups, salads, pizzas, kiddo menu, sandwiches, sliders, and more. I had no idea! Service was quick, hours kickoff at 7:30a, and there's indoor/outdoor seating. Plenty of parking outside or across the street if needed. Can't wait to come back soon!

While it took some coordination on my part, we all made it and it's the best insider peek into this Bay Area institution that started in a small bakery that has grown so very much! Our guide Jennifer was a wealth of knowledge and so very fun to lead us through the history and operations of this business. The average person just doesn't appreciate all the work that goes into the foods that we eat. We saw the warehouse where the raw goods are stored and then onto the production floor! We saw the flour coming out into the massive vats, loaves coming out of ovens, focaccia going into convection ovens and all the steps in between. We were gifted an amazing bag of products that included a sweet baguette, sour battard, a bag of granola, bag of croutons, a morning bun, bag of cinnamon bread, biscotti and a bag of cinnamon bread. Unbelievable!!! They are such a family oriented organization that values community that they regularly donate product out. Items that come back from the stores and those that have an opps are sent out to become feed for chickens! I've always loved Semifreddis and now, I love them more. There are no public tours. Only way in is via a donated tour or via hosted events for 2nd grade and up classes. What a special day for me and 19 of my friends and family. Thank you!! Ps. The women working at the counter were so sweet and patiently explained the menu to me as I was picking out my treats. I ended up getting their Okonomiyaki Danish, Banana Milk Milk Bun, and Yuzu Meringue Bun. The danish was probably one of my favorite savory pastries I've ever had! I loved the crispy layers, and the flavors were absolutely on point. The Banana Milk Milk Bun had a great banana milk custard filling that was prominent yet not too overpowering. The bun itself was incredibly soft and had a topping that reminded me of a pineapple bun or a concha, which I loved. The Yuzu Meringue Bun was slightly on the sweeter side, but it was filled with a delicious, tart yuzu creme that paired perfectly with the crispy exterior. Aside from their iconic Okonomiyaki Danish, they rotate their menu with different flavors of milk buns, cream buns, croissants, and other baked goods, so I'd love to come back to try their other items. It's also an Asian-woman-owned business, so I will definitely be recommending this spot to others!

Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking. Crossubi -- A very unique concept and not bad overall. I just wish the interior wasn't quite as hollow; a little more filling would have elevated it.
