Half priced wine is all night whereas their Happy Hour is only until 6pm and then again from 9p-11p. I haven't ever had anything additional offered for Ladies Night other than wine in all of my visits which is a bummer

Let me start by saying I've been here multiple, multiple times & I've never had any food items that weren't good. I always get breakfast (even if it's lunch time) so I don't know much about the lunch items. Not only is the food outstanding with a creative twist, it's consistent. Over the years, the place has expanded several times so now there is a decent amount of dine-in seating in addition to the outdoor seating. The place still stays packed but with their wait list in advance/text notification system & efficiency in seating customers, if there is a wait things move along smoothly. Additionally, anyone who is waiting knows it's worth the wait!! The service staff are friendly. The atmosphere is homey & they decorate for the various holidays & seasons. Owner/chef Lori is always walking around asking guests if everything is ok. On at least 2 occasions she happened to chat with me/my guest about some dietary restrictions & she whipped something up for us to try. My go-to dish is the harvest breakfast where you can pick 4 breakfast items from a list. This is a great way to sample more menu items. Here's my take on some of my favorites: - Sourdough pancakes are thin & really delicious. - Belgium Leige waffle is very sweet with the pearl sugar "nuggets" in them so taste them before you add a lot of syrup. - Scrambled eggs are well seasoned, not bland. - Avocado & tomato or the fresh fruit are nice light touches as one of the side item choices. - Fried chicken tenders are really good. Spice level 3 (medium) is not that spicy. It's flavorful. - Grilled chicken tenders are good. As much as I typically eat grilled or baked chicken, I allow myself to choose fried for these. - Grits are creamy. I get them with no cheese. I'm not a big grits person but I do like these! The menu is very extensive. It includes vegan, vegetarian, keto & gluten free. Is the breakfast a little pricey, the answer is "it's all relative." Sometimes it's just worth paying for a great meal. In case you haven't gotten the message, Harvest Kitchen is a must try. Do yourself a favor & have a visit. I'm betting it will stay on your list as a repeat eating spot!! We got their pancakes, French toast, a side order of bacon, side order of sausage, and ranch omelette with biscuits and grits. Everything was good but the standouts were the pancakes and omelette that were very filling and hit the spot. Not many brunch places can be consistently good across all dishes but Toasted Yolk certainly was. It's convenient, relatively cheap, and good food. One of the top 5 WORST dining experiences I have had and I dine out a ton. Without any exaggeration... I invited 7 friends and a toddler to dinner. 1. They don't take same day reservations according to them. 2. Open Table allows you to make same day reservations but not for more than 4 people for this restaurant. Restaurant said to call ahead an hour in advance so we did. Got there at 630 and they seated our group after about 10 minutes...on the patio with the sun straight in our eyes as they don't have shades. One fan that points the opposite way to tables that are in the shade. Server was nice but so overwhelmed. To a point where we had to ask for water and ice to 4 different people to actually get some. Our cups were empty for 20 minutes in the blazing sun. Drink orders came out in sessions for the first round. Our appetizers came out before 2 drinks and they offered to take them off the bill. Server didn't take our food order for another 20 minutes AFTER the apps came out. Food is decent obviously. Place is "cool" (don't sit outside in Houston weather) Because of all the mistakes and time, server said we get free dessert. We asked for 4 whiskey cakes. Bill comes out after 20 more minutes...the drink is still on the bill and 3 whiskey cakes are too. We mention just the drink as it was Macallum. The server takes it back and brings it back. First bill was $323. New bill is still $323!?!? I had it and take the bill and ask for the manager. Hostess brings one back. I tell him the drink is still there and the free desserts aren't free. He takes it and says he will fix. Then Natalie comes to the table with my bill already run and says she took the free desserts and the one drink off. Asks what happened and says she had no idea about all the struggles. Gave every excuse in the book and said they shouldn't have large groups on weekends. Says she saw us sitting in the sun with sun in our eyes but thought we wanted to sit out there?!? She did ask if I wanted some appetizers removed from the bill. I looked at her like ...you already charged me and we all just want to leave. She said Next time, come in and ask for her and she will take care of us. Next time? You offered me free desserts anf charged me, you didnt do anything but make excuses and kept rambling on. You lost our business and my friends are all local here. Unfortunately, my experience at Whiskey Cake was disappointing enough that I won't be returning. While there were a few highlights, the overall meal left a lot to be desired. Let's start with the positives: the drinks are fantastic. Our party tried the Persephone (pomegranate basil), Guava Gimlet, and Bohemian, and they were all delicious. If you're a Bloody Mary fan, they've got a good one here. We started with the Candied Bacon and deviled eggs. The bacon was sweet and spicy, served in a cute little skillet, and the deviled eggs had a unique Caesar twist--both were solid appetizers. But that's where the good stuff ended. The Dutch sandwich was bland and underwhelming. It needed stronger cheese and at least some salt and pepper to bring it to life. The mustard seed ketchup was interesting, but my fries had a strange sweet syrup-like substance on one side (likely from another plate), which was unappetizing. My friend's fries didn't have this issue, so it felt like a kitchen mistake. The avocado toast was soggy, and the hash was just... meh. Nothing memorable or worth ordering again. Dessert was the biggest letdown. We ordered the cinnamon roll and the namesake whiskey cake. Both were room temperature, as if they'd been warmed earlier but had cooled off by the time they reached us. The flavors were decent, but the lack of warmth made them feel stale and disappointing. Lastly, our waiter, while friendly, had dripping wet hands every time he brought us a drink. It was off-putting and made the experience feel less professional. I came here with my boyfriend for my birthday. We wanted to get an appetizer and decided on the deviled eggs. Our server then told us they would be topped with apple chutney, barbecue pulled pork, and raw cheese and I'm thinking,"did I hear that correctly...?" but we kept an open mind and didn't question it. They ended up being AMAZING. Who knew that apple chutney and pulled pork went so well together? Let alone on top of deviled eggs! That's what I think I loved most about this restaurant - is the originality and thought that is put into every dish. Everything was so fresh and our server was very informative and attentive. I got the OMG burger and it did not disappoint! My only complaint is that it was so difficult to eat! They should cut the onions a bit thinner. To finish our meal, we got a slice of fresh pumpkin pie and my boyfriend got a whiskey cake to go. The pumpkin pie was phenomenal! Came here for a dinner meeting after work that a pharmaceutical company had. Three of us from our office got there early and decided to try out the happy hour specials. Drinks were great (Diet Coke for me, but the other girls liked whatever it was they got) we ordered the in-house made chips with the dips. Oh my goodness the chips are to die for !!! We could have stayed there at the bar all night. The meeting started and as expected there was a set menu. It's appropriate for this sort of thing. With all the things on the menu there could have been better choices on the set menu but that falls on the company hosting the meeting I would guess. Food was "ehh" mediocre. The group we had wasn't that large but it just wasn't hot. Maybe they waited on the to all be cooked them all and brought out together. I will go back with the girls from the office because the menu surely has some things we were hoping would have been on our set menu. Maybe if it's not a larger party we can get hotter food. We stopped by Whiskey Cake for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive, making for a smooth dining experience. I ordered the wood-grilled steak salad, which tasted great. The veggies were evenly mixed, and the roasted tomatoes really stood out, adding a nice depth of flavor. The steak was cooked medium-rare, just as requested, and the portion was absolutely ginormous--I couldn't even finish it! Of course, I couldn't leave without their infamous sticky toffee cake, and it lived up to the hype. The bourbon anglaise, spiced pecans, and house-made vanilla whipped cream all came together perfectly. The cake itself was soft, gooey, and not overly sweet, making it an absolutely amazing way to end the meal. Overall, Whiskey Cake is a solid spot for a satisfying lunch with generous portions and great flavors. Would definitely return! read more

So this is really 3.5 stars but I'll give them the benefit and round up. The atmosphere is cool. Feels casual but nice still with rustic touches and industrial light fixtures. As the name indicates, great selection of whiskey and bourbon. We started with deviled eggs and candied bacon. Both were delicious. I had one of their mixed drinks and it was also very good - a pineapple something or another. I had the short ribs and they were very good. My complaint is that the carrots were very crisp, barely cooked. Our whole table felt similarly about the vegetables- carrots and green beans were barely cooked and much too crisp. The Gouda Mac and cheese was just okay. The kids meals were served on these big red plastic trays. Nice that they have a kids option, but the big red trays felt like we were at a Denny's or a cafeteria. Overall good food, but some room for improvement. read more

Excellent in every way - atmosphere, service, food. Great for families. Kids love the Mac n Cheese. We have had every appetizer and sometimes just get the appetizers like it's a tapas dinner, never moving onto entrees. Some of the favs are grilled mussels, deviled eggs, duck wings, local board. The salads are equally incredible. Most are enough for two. Great combinations of flavors. Also feature gluten-free buns for sandwiches and we substitute those for the beautiful bread served with some of the appetizers Bar is also top shelf. Try some signature cocktails like the Tennessee Stud. Loved that one. read more

Whiskey Cake was chosen due to it's excellent food and drinks. We missed our reservation at 7pm. It was our fault. lol At about 845pm we we're able to be seated. I visited Whiskey Cake Kitchen & Bar on a Sunday for brunch and was pleased to find ample parking available. Despite a wait time, the experience was worth it. The drinks were exceptional, and the appetizers were truly outstanding. While the main dishes were good, they didn't quite reach the same level of excellence as the appetizers. The service was attentive, contributing to the relaxed ambiance of the place. And of course, the highlight was the whiskey cake, which was absolutely delicious. 2 stars for the manager....I think she is. Other than that it was an awful first and last experience. First they gave our table away and literally said "oh, you weren't sat?" than sat all 6 of us at a 4 top. Servers were literally putting their butts in my back to get by. Finally we got moved once I asked manager but from there it took literally 20 minutes to get another drink and I had to have someone FIND our server. Lastly, she took 10 minutes to figure out how to split a check & got it wrong twice so we settled and paid just to get the hell out of there. Never again!!!! read more

All of the staff are following proper safety guidelines by wearing masks and maintaining a respectable amount of space between the guests. Our hostess was very welcoming, professional, and seated us quickly despite it being a fairly busy night. Our waiter followed suite and provided excellent service throughout the night as well. I unfortunately couldn't catch their names, but the hostess had sleeve tattoos and our waiter had Pokemon pins on his uniform. Oh my goodness where do I even start !!! The decision to go to whiskey cake for lunch today was the best one yet! The lovely Hostess Bella was so sweet and helpful when getting us sat and honestly I wish I could just go on and on about our waitress Kim!! she was phenomenal, such a doll!! She embodies the perfect blend of attitude and appreciation for her role, representing WCK wonderfully and providing diners with respectful and attentive service. My wife and I had a delightful brunch experience at the restaurant. The food was truly excellent, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented, while the attentive service added to our enjoyment. The pricing was quite reasonable, making it a great value for the quality we received. This is a cool spot. Nice diverse crowd of families, couples and those too cool for school. The menu is compact yet adventurous enough to not get bored. Less is more. I highly recommend the turducken meatballs and of course the whiskey cake. Our server, Kara, was fun and attentive. Management was present and welcoming. The only small gripe I have is the coed restrooms. For guys, it's really a non issue but ladies might not appreciate certain men's lack of aim if you know what I mean. read more

Just go! Order anything. I just moved here and have been there several times and every time I go it's amazing. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. Burgers are amazing, the local board is great. Their deviled eggs change each week, I think and they're always creative and delicious. And the Whiskey cake dessert is ridiculous. I'd starve for a week to just eat that! read more
